Distributors bring frontline workers to robot demos and let them physically operate the equipment, holding the teach pendant and moving the robot themselves. This hands-on experience helps workers see how robots could help their own jobs and turns them into advocates for the technology.
What are some of the approaches that you have taken to help frontline workers become comfortable with new technology? So you mentioned kind of training them to program or to enter new applications. What are some other ways that you have helped them kind of adjust to these new coworkers?
So a good thing I feel we do with our distributors is going in for robot demos. So if the company is, you know, smart about it, when we go to do a demonstration, they'll bring in the people that are most impacted by that robot. And I feel like putting the teach pendant of the robot in their hands and saying, here, move this thing, make it move over, having them control the robot a little bit for about 5 minutes and open, close grippers, pick up a part and be like, hey, can you think of ways to put this in front of your job and make it do things for you that you don't want to do? And their mind kind of starts, yeah, actually I can see what I'd use this for. But you involve them in the process from the beginning.
Mm-hmm.
then they feel like they— I feel like they've got buy-in on it. And you've got, you know, somebody who's championing the technology in the background.
