Generative AI can automatically extract business rules from the messy documents marketing and engineering teams already produce—spreadsheets, PDFs, Word files—and turn them into the formal logic that powers configure-to-order product engines.
I think everybody is thinking about generative AI and how it's going to affect the world in so many different ways. And you could say, when you work with configure-to-order products, you could say there are a couple of places where generative AI definitely will be able to help. One area is to get these rules established. As I mentioned before, you have to bring in, as formal logic, you have to bring in rules from both marketing and engineering. And they come in many shapes and forms— Excel sheets and PDFs and Word and whatnot. And I think generative AI is amazing at being able to take semi-structured, unstructured data and turning it into much more rigid logic.
