Hey, it's Mike Stromso coming to you live from the Living Agency Laboratory. Welcome you to episode 26 of the Unstoppable Profit Podcast. And today we're going to be talking about.
Videos, because videos. I made a comment at a meeting that I was at yesterday and I'd given somebody a referral and it was an H vac person. And I said in the meeting, I said, hey, you know, Rob, I just want to let you know that I gave you a referral and she was hot. And what I meant was that the referral was hot, but the way it came out, they thought I was talking about the female person being hot. And it turned into this big whoop to do and so forth and so on. But it was a very fun moment. So what's going on today? Videos are smoking hot. And why should you be using videos in your agency business? Well, let me give you some reasons, reasons why you should be thinking about this. And to back this up for just a minute, think about how you can integrate this into the three Ps people, processes, the promotion of your business or businesses in every way. Because remember, that will help you grow your business, create financial wealth, and have more freedom to live life on your own terms. So why, why should you invest time, effort, resources to integrate and use video within your agency business? Well, number one is speed. Remember money and success. Love speed. Watching a video for many, many people. How many people you see walking around nowadays with earbuds in their ears, whether they're driving, walking along the street, yes, they're not paying attention and yes, they almost run you over sometimes. I get that, but it happens to me too. So watching a video is much Easier than reading text. And people are engaged and people understand better. Remember, they learn when they hear, but when they hear and see, they understand. Once they come to the point of understanding, they are not no longer confused. Therefore, they can make a buying decision. I hope everything that I just said makes sense. By the way, if you don't have this yet, you should always have something to write with and write on when you start listening to this podcast. So if you don't have that right now, stop, pause this and go get something to write with and write on and I'll be sitting right here waiting for you when you get back anyway. Speed. Number one reason why you should be using video within your agency business. Number two, trust. Remember, money follows trust. And to come back to the formula of E plus F equals C which results in R plus T equals mft. The experience. The experience creates a feeling. And when you create that experience and the feeling you have the connectedness when you connect with people, you begin to build a relationship. When you build the relationship, you begin to build the trust. When you build the relationship and the trust, money follows trust. It's really that simple. See, a video of you helps put a face, a real authentic face behind your brand and immediately creates that personal connection. The E plus F equals C. That connection. You can use video to break down client objections. You can take them through a step by step thorough evaluation of what you're going to provide for them, what's in it for them, what kind of service you're going to provide now and into the future, giving them an idea about what to expect, what the expectations are, and possibly what the obstacles are. Answer any typical questions that they may have and show them how how easy it is to get to your office as an example, if they need to come in for that FTF or face to face. So speed Trust. The next reason that you should be using video in your agency business is professionalism. Yes, professionalism. See, these days, high quality videos can be produced on a budget, immediately boosting your brand's professionalism.
Speed Trust. Professionalism. The next thing is expertise. Video cuts through the clutter and gets straights. Scrape. Let me try that again. Video cuts through the clutter and get straight to the emotion. See, people buy on emotions, so you got to get straight to the heart of that emotion, whether it's your own energy and passion, your client's experience of working with you.
I hope you can hear the passion in my voice through these podcasts because I am passionate about this and my director reminds me every time before we get Started. Don't bang on the desk. So I got my hands, they're flying all over the air, but I'm not touching the desk because this high.
Frequent, whatever it is, microphone picks up every little sound. Okay? So expertise cuts to the emotion.
Speed, trust, professionalism, expertise. The next thing is SEO. And for those of you who are newer to the online digital game, that's search engine optimization. Videos help people stay on your site for longer. And through this little cool thing called analytics, you can gauge how long they're sitting there, where they go jump page to page, etcetera, and etcetera. Etc. It can, it tells you what's working, what's not working. And the more it's working, the more you want to pound that rock. You want to go back, go back, go back. It's working so well. You should keep doing it, not stop doing it. The old marketing joke that we throw around and have been throwing around for years. You see, research says that your content, your content, your unique content, your authenticity content, your content is 50 times more likely to make it to the first page of Google if, if you include video. Let me give you some stats, okay? I know facts tell and stories sell. I'm going to give you some facts so you can tell your story via video. By 2019, global consumer Internet traffic video traffic. Try that again. By 2019, global consumer Internet traffic video traffic will account for 80% of all consumer Internet traffic. 80%.
Facebook generates 8 billion. Yes B, like boy. 8 billion video state views on average every single day.
YouTube, heard of them? Many people have. In fact, it's on their big screen TV in their house because they don't have TV anymore. Reports mobile video consumption. Yeah, those little things in everybody's hand all the time rises 100% every year. Mobile video consumption rises 100% every year. 55% of people watch videos online. And every single day, 55%. 92% of mobile video consumers share their videos with others.
Why should they share your video over and above and in all other options they have available to them and friends, they have options.
Give them the option to share and remind them to share. Say, hey, if you like what you saw in this video, please share it with everybody you know. Why not you and why not now?
Next fact. 90% of users say that product videos are helpful in the decision process. Do you want to help them make a decision to give you money?
Give them a reason. Including video.
Next. Social video generates 1,200 times percent more. 1,200% more shares than text and images combined. Social video generates 1,200% more shares than text and images combined. Next. Video posts on Facebook have 135% greater organic reach than photo posts. 135%.
Next. Video in an email leads to 200 to 300% increase and click through rates 2 to 300%. Friends, I hope you're writing this down so you can look at it. In fact, if I can convince my director, we'll put all these stats in writing so you can see them.
Why should you be using video within your agency or any business? That's why. Alright, so let me give you some how to's. Yeah, you should still have that thing to write these down. One cell phone webcam, or as you start using more a nicer camera like a Canon or a Nikon. Alright, you need these items to begin to start creating video. But that little device that carries around in your pocket or purse, you can start with that. Just get started somewhere. You know, I've got a great friend, a great biking buddy of mine. She is.
One of the most imaginary dreaming people that I know and she's got no problem standing up on a stage of hundreds of people sharing her story and so forth. But she was challenged recently to do Facebook live videos. In fact, she was challenged to do one a day. And she reached out to me and said, Mike, I don't know why, I just.
I got this fear thing going on. I can't figure it out. I don't have any problem getting in front of stage. I've been on stage with her in front of hundreds of people and she just can't get past it. I said just start doing it. Just keep doing it and talk from the heart. Share your story. Be authentic, be you. No scripts. Just figure out the subject matter you want to talk about. Let them know what's in it for them. Help them over obstacles and give. That's all you need to do. Okay, so that little cell phone is a good place to start. Then a webcam on your regular computer or as you start getting more down the road, a nicer camera. Okay, number two, you need to invest in. Yes, I said invest, not buy. Invest in a video storage server. YouTube's available, Vimeo is available. Wistia is a great opportunity. Or there's others out there. Okay, talk to other people who are doing a lot of videos. Next you need to be thinking about video email platforms. Okay, so I was just on a phone call with a bunch of UPP coaching peeps today and we were talking a lot about Bombbomb. Yes, Bomb. Bomb. B O M like Mary. Be like boy. Said it again. Bomb. Bomb like boom. Explosion. Okay, Vidyard is good. So bomb. The thing about Bombbomb and Vidyard in today's world is they monitor how long people are on those platforms and there's so many more out there. So you need a video email platform and there's other people out there that create unique custom videos for our industry that can be delivered all the time. So like my friends atmyinsurance videos.com Next, create a list of the video you would like to shoot. Okay. Am I covered if. Now let me share with you something I learned in my evolution probably five, six, seven years ago. If you have team members, collect your most experienced team members who are dealing with clients and coverage matters, whether it be purse lines, commercial lines or benefit lines, whatever that might be. And call a quick meeting for 15 minutes and say hey, I just want to brainstorm and collaborate about helping our clients more. Okay, so you've heard of the old adage FAQs, frequently asked questions. What you want to do is position the meeting with your team members and tell them the story of what you're trying to do. I'm trying to create very engaging videos about our industry is your goal. Right. And say to them, hey, instead of Creating videos on FAQs Frequently asked questions, we want to create videos on SAQs. The should ask questions. Got it? Alright. So a frequently asked question might be, is rental car benefit automatically included in my auto insurance policy? The should ask question is should I include rental car benefit in my car policy? Well, we know the answer. If you depend on your car every single day, you should include rental car benefit in your auto policy. Got it. So the SAQs, not the FAQs, the SAQs. So get with your team and just brainstorm and make a checklist of the SAQs. And and when you get done like we've done this multiple times in the past, there's usually 15 or 20 things on that list. And there's your SAQs, there's your first 15 to 20 videos. Use a marketing calendar to help you organize, to plan and to schedule your videos so it's in direct alignment with your business goals and keeps you consistent. Yes, I said goals and yes, I said consistent consistency. You should be reading your goals every day and you should be consistent in everything you do. Okay, Next, purchase an Excuse me. Invest in an inexpensive portable video audio. Excuse me. Try that again. Invest in an inexpensive portable video studio. There's this online portal called Amazon I don't know if you've heard of them, by the way. 560,000 employees worldwide. It's 100 to $200 of an investment. Okay? It's an inexpensive, portable video studio. I have one here in our living agency laboratory and in my home living agency laboratory, I've got one in each that I've invested in. And so I can pop up, and I do all the time. Okay? Bigger than that, friends. Just do it.
Thanks to Phil at Nike. Just do it. And it'll lead to the next win and then the next lesson. But if you keep doing it, doing it, doing it. In the words of my mentor and friend, Michael Gerber, doing it, doing it, doing it, doing it, doing it, doing it. It's gonna get easier as you do it, do it, do it. Okay? And the only way that you're gonna keep getting better at it is if you do it, do it, do it. And practice and do it, do it, do it.
Alright.
It's okay. Here to let you know that not everybody's going to be watching your video anyway, even though you think they are.
Let me give you some strategies to use video in your marketing, okay? You can welcome new clients with video. You can send video proposals, you can send proposals for renewal via video. You can share your brand story.
You can provide testimonials via video. Collect testimonials via video and send them out. Always be listening for the opportunity to get a video testimonial all the time. Yes, you can record on that device in your pocket or your purse, Facebook Live, your referral drawings, your community event drawings, etc. Or anything going on that's of importance to the markets that you serve and protect. You can repurpose popular blog posts into a video series to extend its reach. So if you're doing blogs, you can do vlogs, video blogs, vlogs. You can set up quick part email videos in your Outlook. If you use Outlook where you just, with the click of a button, boom, it's out.
You can create hiring opportunities via video. Sat down for part of our hiring efforts and recruiting efforts. I sat down and did about a 7 minute video on the history of our agency, my history in the business and where our agency came from. And I send that out to people. And I asked them about, I said, did you watch that video? And they said, yeah, we watched all of it. That was pretty cool. You know what, who else is doing? I said, have you ever seen another business that you applied for or worked for that, done that? And they say, no, I'VE never seen another business that did that. You are immediately at the top of the heap and you're unique and you've engaged them and drawn them in. You can educate people on coverage via video and specific unique lines of business via video. You can include videos in your email content like we've talked about. Now be sure to put the word video in the subject line Video on video just for you about your protection. Celebrate teammates, birthdays and anniversaries via video. But more than anything, have fun. What's better, laugh or cry? It's better to laugh. So just have fun. Just have fun doing it. And that's the kind of stuff that goes viral. Okay, make a dance video. I know that one of our you early on UPP peeps got a hold of this video thought process, got all the equipment, did exactly what we said he should do. And I remember seeing a video of their whole office. It was a Friday and it might have been a holiday, whatever it was. And they were all dressed up and it was a Halloween thing actually, now that I think about it. And they were just dancing and having a great time, but it was so awesome. And I looked at how many people had watched it and there was hundreds of people who would watch that video because people want to be there. They want to be out there having fun.
And once you get to a certain point, we strongly recommend that you hire a professional to edit your videos that need editing. For instance, for your website, front page, your event, promotions, etc. Not everything needs to look that professional. But some of them, you want that professional edge, if you will. Okay, see.
You'Re in the insurance business, not the video editing business. Or what business are you in? You're in the insurance agency business, not in the video editing business. Friends, what does this mean for you?
Well, it means that nobody can trump what you're doing. Why? Because they're authentically and uniquely yours. They're authentically and uniquely yours. What else does this mean for you? You are positioning your business as a leading business in today's industry. What else does this mean for you? You are positioning your business as the standout business in your local area or any areas that you choose to do business. What does that mean for you? You automatically elevate yourself into the top 10 or 20% of all businesses out there. What does that mean for you? You will have nothing but opportunity to sell to more people and to keep more of the people that you're able to sell to as you continue to grow your business. And what does that mean for you, that means you are going to grow your business, that you are going to create financial wealth and security, and you're going to have ultimately more freedom to live life on your own terms and to make more videos of you dancing because you're having that freedom. Friends.
In or around an upcoming podcast. You are going to see a video of me. I'm going to be dancing.
On the hills of, of Europe.
And I can't wait to share those moments of freedoms with you. And I'll be sharing more of the story.
And what it's meant for us to be on this journey with you.
To be significant businesses, to be impactful entrepreneurs as we continue to make progress in today's world. Friends, all you got to do is take action. Don't think about it, don't talk about it. Just go take action. That's the next step you need to take. This is Mike Stromso coming to you live from the Living Agency Laboratory. And remember, videos are smoking hot and so are you. So go do it. We'll talk to you soon. Thank you for listening. If you would like to listen to more episodes or share this podcast with someone you care about, please visit www.Unstopped.
