Mes parents m'ont toujours soutenu 😌

In this personal video, Mohamed Boclet recounts his upbringing in Paris as the sole son among six sisters in an immigrant, working‑class family. His father arrived in France in the 1970s as a construction laborer, and his mother joined fifteen years later; both were illiterate and never attended school. The father stressed the importance of education, urging Mohamed to “work at school” despite lacking the ability to help with homework himself. Older sisters also struggled academically, and formal homework assistance in the neighborhood was provided by well‑meaning adults, but the sessions often turned into more laughter than study. Boclet reflects on how, unlike his parents, he now sits with his own children after school, helping them read and understand their lessons, embodying the educational support his parents could not give.
