You. Oh, okay. I am. Hey, everyone, we're live for our Friday fallout on YouTube. I'm on Tik Tok Live right now, and I'm going to be transitioning over here. So I just want to open up my stream here. So if you guys want to hop on over, here's a chat. Okay. Gonna hop on over here to our live here. If you want to. If you want to follow me over to YouTube, we will. We will move over here. I want to get. I want to get. I want to get your take. I want to get your takes on everything on YouTube because one, I cannot see it better. Two, but here on YouTube, we're going to talk about all the Justins. And I have to be honest. Awesome. Okay, you just t. 12, 18. You moved over here. So I have to thank my TikTok crowd here, Claudia, and everyone else who's moving over here right now, because they just informed me. And this is why I love live streaming. This is why I love Community so much. And this is why I love breaking these things down on Friday, because Friday is when just so many things happen. A lot of news drops now. I'm. I'm noticing a lot of news drops on Thursday as well. I. I did a live ON SUBSTACK At 9am this morning, Eastern time. I highlighted a couple stories that I looked at and one. Oh, Mary Kate. Oh, gosh, I'm sorry. Well, if you're laid off, I hope that you're getting compensated for that at least. And I'm so happy that you can. That you can join me over here. Fun fact. When I would call on radio shows, sometimes I would say my name was Mary Kay anyway, but I didn't know anything about Justin Timberlake. I didn't know anything about. Then we. Then we moved to. Who was it? You guys? Justin Timberlake, Justin Baldoni, and Justin Trudeau. We talked about those three. So we'll talk about those three right off the bat. We're going to talk about the Justin Trudeau. Justin Trudeau. The Justin Timberlake statement. I will. I. I have to get your response on that. Then. Then we'll do a little American Eagle. Also, many of you are coming over from Tick Tock. That's awesome. I'm gonna fade off of Tick Tock in about, you know, a couple minutes. And then we're gonna say everything on YouTube. So we are going to discuss the three Justins. We're going to spend the most time on Justin Timberlake, then Justin Baldoni and the deposition that I. We just looked up and then a little bit on Justin Trudeau because Justin Trudeau, Justin Trudeau popped up in the news this week and thanks to Tick Tock, they were telling me this sort of source of the story. I will, we will touch on Astronomer. I said that story was going to be put to bed, but now someone on Tick Tock just relayed a nice little tidbit from that and Louise looked it up for me. And then we'll do Sydney Sweeney briefly. And I was on CNN Live yesterday at Christine calling this Justin Live. It is kind of is a Justin Live. Justin turn. But I was on CNN yesterday doing a live interview. I know, Molly, isn't it weird having both. But we're going to come off in a second. So I'm going to, in about one minute, I'm going to log off with Tick Tock and I'm just head on over to YouTube where I can see all the comments here right now and they're staring right at me. So we can have a lively conversation here. And, and I, I'm going to pull off some headlines that I pulled up from the week because I'm going to give you just like a brief background and just the news cycle right now. I don't know if you saw my post about. Okay, let's pause for a moment. Scott of the south. No scandal, I hope. Can we have a moment to appreciate how cute Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson are? Yes, let's have that moment. I love this moment for Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson. Okay, off pause on that one. I'm glad you mentioned that. I, I want to highlight a couple statements that I saw this week. Want to point out some spin this week. And then I want to, I just want to give you a funny, I don't even want to call it funny because it's a tragic story coming out of the Texas floods. They had the hearing with the floods. And I have to tell you, from the stories that I read, I, I have to share it. I shared it on my substack live this morning. But if you want to understand PR Spin and didn't even call it PR spin, it's just human spin, spin, spin, spin. I'm gonna tell you this story because it's incredible. It's in the news. So it was in New York Times and everything, the XCIA whistleblower that, okay, that's come up twice now. And I don't know that. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna keep. Okay, Tick Tock. This is where I, this is where we Say goodbye. And if you wanna. If you wanna hop on over to YouTube right now, we're going to continue the conversation there. We will revisit all the Justin and then some of the other stories there. But you can find me over@YouTube.com. all right, bye for now. Okay, and now. And now it's just us. Here we are. Okay. And we have a number of you coming from Tik Tok, which is fantastic. You never migrated over from TikTok. I'm so happy that you did. Okay, so here we are. Here we are. Okay. Okay, so let's start with the Justin. Because I said that the Justin. This is what people told me about. Oh, I've already taken it off. Okay, so it was Ashley. It was Ashley who brought up to me, I think her name was Ashley Farkas. I got to give her credit for this Instagram and said that. What about. I want you to. What about Justin. Justin Timberlake. And whenever I see. So whenever I see. You know, the story about something like that, just the name. Most often when people say, oh, what about this? Or what about that? I never. I never had any idea usually what's going on with people. I just go. And then I go immediately to the goog and I look. But now I go to AI. So thanks to Ashley and then everybody else, they told me that Justin Timberlake had a statement. Low volume. So volume low, you guys. For you. For all of you. Is it low? Okay. Hey, Garfield rocks. We'll see you over voter fraud. Okay, I'll look at that. Oh, okay. Hello from London. Off topic. Would you ever give insights into using crisis PR techniques in our personal lives? That is so on topic. That's what I do every single day. That's what we do. Fun fact. I don't care about half these celebrities. I don't. I care about what they do. And everything that we talk about and I look at and everything, even in my work, it 100% applies to your life. So whenever you hear me say this, PR for people, that's what I mean. So thank you for saying that. Yeah. Everything I talk about for Inst. Justin Timberlake. Now, maybe we don't have our best buddies on tour right now that go on for tour for two years. And why we could timestamp this, because two summers ago, Justin Timberlake kicked off his tour. And I remember this because I was running a half marathon and as I was walking out of the expo, you know, the day before the half to get your number and everything is when I posted something about Justin Timberlake. And when I said, or I predicted the night before Justin, this was the DWI or. I don't remember if it was DWI or DUI itself or if it was response to it or Jessica Biel. I don't remember what it was. I don't even remember what it was. But I said, he's only going to mention it on stage. And that's exactly what he did. So he was on stage June 18th, 1920th, something like that. I believe it was Chicago. And went on stage and started talking about what was going on, which is. But it was easy to call. I'm not. No, brilliant. I'm not that brilliant. Okay, so now we have a post that came out a couple days ago where people. And I only saw it once that said, imagine you know, paying all this money to see Justin Timberlake concert. And then he makes people, you know, sing the song. So that's a really, really bad look when you're getting paid all that money. So here we go. Here's the Justin Timberlake statement, and I want you guys to give me your two cents on the statement. Well, as these two incredible years come to an end and I look forward to the future, I wanted to write something from the heart. It's not an easy task to try to contextualize the whirlwind of. Of whirlwind of touring. Dash. Dash. But I will try. So I'm gonna. Because I just read this on TikTok, so I'm gonna condense it a bit. But as soon as I saw the first two dashes, I thought the volume's okay. Great. Okay. Oh, Harris had a statement too. We can look at this. I went, oh, hello. Hello. AI. Now, I had mentioned dashes with AI on a post, a TikTok post. And oh, my God, the. The. The grammar police came at me so hard. I used engine like. I know. I use them too. They're my favorite. I love EM dashes. But you know who else uses EM dashes? AI. So this feels a little AI to me, but it also feels. Leo. Yeah. Who wrote it? Ryan Reynolds. Exactly. But it also feels like it's tweaked. AI, you know, so that's just this. But let's go. So he talks about the fun, emotional, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. As many of you know, comma, I'm a pretty private person. So now we have some framing there. So this is how also we know that it's not him because it's so strategic. And also, Justin Timberlake doesn't give a crap. He doesn't give a crap about people and stuff, you know, like, this is the team. This is the team. But this is interesting, but as I'm reflecting on the tour and festival tour. Justin Timberlake isn't reflecting on any tour. Dash. I want to tell you a little bit about what's going on with me and you go, exactly, exactly. Both things can be true. AI overuses and writers can use them correctly. Yeah, I completely agree with you. But as someone who uses EM dashes correctly, I don't use EM dashes anymore because of AI. But this one, it's almost like there are so many different. Like, I bet if I were to go to other Justin Timberlake statements, we didn't have double dashes, ellipsis, and. And. And. And all this nonsense that's going on there. But this is what's interesting. I want to tell you a little bit about what's going on with me. So now we already know, like, something's going on, but it's. It's not going to be anything. Yeah. Laura, the only smart move is to have a professional. Right? Exactly. He. He wants to bring you in. What's an M dash? It's me, like E M dash. It's punctuation. It's like that dash. When someone. When someone has a thought, then they think of something else. That's an EM dash. But Justin Timberlake. Oh, here, let me share it, you guys. Oh, my gosh, I'm being such a gen zer. Hold on, let's share the screen. Here we go. Justin Timberlake didn't go to high school. I don't know dashes. That's funny. That's funny. But here you go. Here you go, you guys, I'm right here. As many of you know, I'm a private. Okay, okay. Among other things, I've been battling some health issues and was diagnosed with Lyme disease. And this is like a short hyphen dash, which I don't say. And I know people are like, who cares? Part of it is. The part of it is. Is. Well, just the grammar of it. Right? But just the. I look at it as the. Oh, my God, I just lost the word. Not the diagnosis, the forensics. Like, just the forensics. Because when I look at statements, I like to compare them to past statements and to see how they write. And so you could tell if they have new. A publicist. I think he has a new publicist or someone who's writing a. It's the dashes and the timing of the whole post that got my attention. Post. Brittany dui, poor me routine. Oh, yeah, and that was a bad look. Followed by so many family photos of brave Justin landing soon. Right, Right. Carla, you're all over this, but here we go. Which I don't say so. So, okay, with Lyme disease, which I don't say so you feel bad for me? No, it's just so you don't dunk on me about this. This video going through right now. So here's like another. Like this double dash thing is interesting, but to shed some light on what I've been up against behind the scenes. If you've experienced this disease or know someone who has. So that's. That's the language. That's the writing language, the publicist writing language, where we're going to bring everybody into the mix here because we now need. So think of. And I'm not saying this from the spin point of view, but think of Kate Middleton when she did her video to die to. To announce that, you know, she had cancer, even though we did not know what kind of cancer. Anytime someone comes out with some type of a disease, the writing from the strategic point of view is to. Is to get the community, the other key communities there. Okay, Jaden saying, framing. I'm a survivor, right? Yeah. Right. So he wants to connect with another community. Because you know what everybody's going to write about now? People magazine is going to write about Lyme. What does it mean that Justin Timberlake has Lyme disease. Other celebrities that have. Who have Lyme disease. Let's talk about Lyme disease. Now. All of a sudden, Lyme disease becomes a narrative, becomes the focal point, because we don't want to focus on the reason why he had to come out to say he had Lyme disease. Now I'm going to tell you why I think this is convenient. I want to look at some words. If you've experienced this disease or know someone who has one dash, then you're aware living with this can be relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically. When I first got diagn, got the diagnosis, I was shocked for sure, But at least I could understand why I would be on stage and a massive amount of nerve pain or just feeling crazy fatigue or sick sickness. I was faced with a personal decision. Stop touring. Which means, you know, if. If you're going to give me grief, that means then I'm going to pull my. My tour away from you. I'm gonna. I'm gonna punish you all for coming at me. But no, I'm not gonna do that. I'm gonna keep going and figure it out. Because nobody knows how to figure this out. I decided the joy that performing brings me far outweighs the fleeting stress my body was feeling. I'm so glad I kept going. Not only did I prove my mental tenacity to myself, but I now. But I know I now have so many special moments with all of you that I will never. Okay. That I will never forget. I was reluctant to talk about this because I was always raised to keep something like this to yourself. But I'm trying to be more transparent about my struggles. Oh my gosh. Like right now if my, my 20 year old son was here who was diagnosed a couple years ago with Lyme disease, but that was a part of his type 1 diabetes diagnosis. Do you know what the Lyme disease diagnosis was? How that was met with his doctors? Huh. Sharing all this with the hopes that we can find a way to be more connected, like to do my part to help others experiencing disease. And then the, the continuing comments. But I can't see it. I know there is probably a smart way that you can go down to the next thing to find his. But I can't find it. So maybe you guys, maybe you guys can tell me how to do that. I don't know how to do that. But my point is this is an absolute deflection from what he was experiencing at the end of the tour because you don't want to end a tour with that bad taste and that bad press. And I don't even know if it was press of made press as much as it did his social in the commentary that he just didn't have it in there anymore and you know it. And to frame Lyme disease there is a convenience there now nobody really know. We don't know everything about Lyme disease. So I, I don't want to dismiss the long term effects of Lyme disease. This came up on my girl's weekend last weekend. You know, one friend was saying her sister had all these debilitating things that happened to it. I've known other people who've talked about debilitating things from it, but doctors just don't know. And the one anecdote that I give is when my son had a different thing that kind of came up. I went to infectious disease at Boston Children's and because of this and when I went to that appointment we had the chief, chief, the chief there and we had all these key doctors there explain it because they wanted to know like oh, is this limes? Because they're always researching it. But Then I got schooled on really about Lyme disease and how they, how they explained, you know, especially if you're in New England with parts with Lyme, like you get it and you'll always have Lyme's disease, like it will be in your blood. But all of the kind of narratives out there about this long term effects of Lyme disease, it's. It's not actually as real as they thought. I don't want anyone to come at me on that because I'm not saying I'm just jumping in this right now, but that was my takeaway. They essentially were telling me, like, for my son, they said it's 100, not because of Lyme disease. And they explained why. But why does Justin Timberlake use Lyme disease now? Could he have Lyme disease? Sure. You know, maybe that bullseye showed up somewhere. Right. But it is so incredibly convenient to say Lyme disease because it's something. It's topical. A lot of people suffer from it. It's, you know, there's a lot of news stories about it. It's a quick jag off. But it's not addiction. It has nothing to do with behavior. Doesn't have. It's. It's also a disease that doesn't. That he has no control over. You just get it. So it's perfect. And, and also, you know what they did? They went to chat GPT or they went to AI and just said, what are some diseases? This is how I picture it. Allegedly. Okay. We don't know. But how I picture it is, oh, let's go. Because this is how you can explain fatigue and you can explain, you know, not being yourself and being kind of off. There's got to be other people in the past. There's got to be other people who we've questioned what's really going on with them and then they come up with Lyme disease. So I'm going to go in the chat and I'll look at that. But. But there. But he needed an convenient excuse. Excuse to show that he didn't. That he didn't care anymore. They didn't have it in him. And what's a disease that you can use that shows that you don't have it in it? I don't think they can test for it. The long term vision version. Epstein Barr. Yep. Crap tour performance. My force. My first thought was Shania Twain. Yeah, you said that in Tick Tock. Yeah. Has it. And she can still keep her microphone in her hand when she fans. Spend 450 to stand in the rain watching her love that. Oh, did Justin Bieber do this? Did Justin Bieber. Is that who I'm thinking? My friend almost lost her Hub in 2018 because of it. I know. So I don't want to say that it's not real or anything. I'm just saying what was told to me by a team of doctors, but that it also can trigger other things. You know, like if you have a Lyme disease, it can definitely like trigger other things. So I, I don't, I don't want to take from it at all because I know a lot of people suffer from it. But I'm just saying my experience what I was told, there's Lyme disease and then there's crap tour performance. Love that. I used to love Jessica Biel, but I judge her so hard now for who she chose. Well, she's sticking it out, isn't she? There are ton people lying with online communities. They appreciate this and we'll back them. Right? And Margaret, what a great point. He's going to get so many people to back him too. Because also with Lyme disease, how many people know that they have something or they think they have Lyme disease, but no one believes them or, you know, they don't get the attention it deserves. So. Oh my gosh, Justin Timberlake. Yeah, it is perfect for him. If you can't sing because of health issues, then cancel the tour. It's not fair to people paying a lot of money to sing. I don't think he cares about his fans. Marianne. That's what this is. Reading Lyme disease during the Janet. Oh. Ripple gate. Oh, yeah. Justin's stuff goes back, doesn't it? It's given. I can't take accountability or admit my shortcomings. I'm with you on that. That's, it's exactly how I feel too. There are huge numbers of Lyme disease are going to have this back for the recognition. It's invisible and does not and does cause. Yeah. Mar. So again, I, I, I'm not saying there isn't long term effects of Lyme disease. I'm just saying what they were, they were telling me. Yeah, so don't, don't, don't do. Oh, someone just said my problem with just in there. Yeah. So anyway, so that's Justin Timberlake. Wow, that's interesting. That that's full on pr. And then the second is I got, I gotta pull these quick. Is. And someone brought this up in the chat. Justin Trudeau. And so I was asked about. Okay, so, okay, so 20 let's see. So let's just go to page six here. Let's just go to page six. I'm gonna. I'm gonna bring up page six because we need truth. Let's go to page six. All right, Molly. Also, who's gonna blame someone for Lyme disease? Not that anyone should be judged for poor health, but it feels like the blame is on the tick, not the person. Molly, I love that. He's blaming. He's blaming the dick. I love that. Okay, here we go. Justin Trudeau spotted at Katy Perry's Lifetimes tour after sparking romance rumors. Dinner date. Okay, interesting. So that's his daughter, right? So he, Justin Trudeau, was spotted front center at Katy Perry's sold out. Is. Was it sold out? Was her tour sound out? Jaden, let the Tick do the tour. That's funny. That's funny. The former beamed as he watched the firework hit maker take the stage. You know, when I first heard about these two and I replied back to someone in my subset community, I said, it's just kind of feeling like they're both single people who may have met up in their circles and just had lunch. And then. And then it was mentioned that he was at the concert on. On Tick Tock. And then someone else mentioned where the photos are from. So now I'm going, like, looking at this here. Like, look at him stand there. So there he is. Oh, She's got people there. Okay, in the now viral video posted social media, eagle and spotted Trudeau. Okay, he's with Ella Grace. In one photo shared on X, Trudeau appeared completely captivated by the singer. Oh, hey, Nola. It was. It was. You just heard a Tick Tock, Tick tock. I love it. Okay. Wow. Look at him beam. So now, Nola, I'm saying I'm changing my tune with you. Oh, Katie. Oh, here we go. So this is what someone on Tick Tock told me. Right here. So Trudeau's appearance at Perry's gig comes just days after. Okay, so see how we look at this background? So this helps both of them. It. Yeah. I mean, this is classic. Well, she got. I'm actually surprised she got that many people there, I gotta be honest. Oh, here they are again. I never saw this one. The Paris have done cocktails and many entrees, including lobster in Canada. Okay, okay. So clearly they knew what was going down. Yeah. Because we already had the one video of her falling off the. The horse and stuff, so. All right, well, here we go. I hope you guys don't mind this so was Yolanda Hadid Foster. And again, I don't want to say people who say they have long. Who have tick, who have Lyme disease faking. I do not want to be a Lyme disease hater. No, I. I mean, not that it matters. My personal opinion is. And also now, based on what all these doctors told me at Infectious disease in Boston, I mean, it could certainly trigger other things because my son had a thing and just never know. Like, did that trigger. Did that. Did Lyme disease trigger this other disease that he ended up. I mean, it could be, but in terms of. They were explaining to me, like, the long term Lyme disease stain in the body, like that. That. That can't be. And they explained it, and I thought, oh, that's actually very fascinating, but it can trigger other things and other bigger problems. Let me see these photos. Oh, we already saw these photos. So interesting. Okay. All right. So that is Justin Trudeau. So I think there's gonna be more. Right. The number of Canadian singers with Lyme disease. Wow. So more coming out. So we knew about Shania Twain. Oh. Avril Lavigne has a Lyme disease. And Justin Bieber seat fillers. Yeah. Because when she was at the Boston Garden, there were a lot. There were a lot of open spots there. A lot. Okay, so we have Justin. So we have. We have Justin Trudeau. We have Justin Timberlake. And then we had. Who's our third Justin? Katy Perry held hands with Justin Trudeau for 11 minutes and now calls herself Canada's first lady. But okay, this is. Okay, I want to ask you guys, truly, does anyone care about Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau? Like, are people. Are people going to care? I wonder. I mean, he is a former prime minister. What were you saying about the Texas floods? Oh, yes, yes, yes. I'm g. To do Texas floods after our Justin. Yes. If he is allegedly faking Lyme disease, it also means he can link to being outdoorsy and wholesome. Yeah. On his. On his tour, Justin Baldon. Okay. Yes, the answer is Justin Baldon. So yesterday, July 31, Blake Lively sat down for a deposition. Now, that also happens to be one week after. No, not one week. Wednesday, Monday did Maximum effort post tweet that they did the astronomer ad with. With Gwyneth Paltrow. So he put himself front and center. And. And. And Ryan Reynolds even said in the post he was making a joke. Typical Ryan Reynolds humor, which I'm so incredibly over if I've never actually ever liked it in the first place. He even put Hugh Jackman in the post. Like it's like all the markings of what Ryan Reynolds does. I' it. But he inserted himself into the story, which is. And, and this story was so huge and it really, really created a massive SEO moment for. I mean clearly astronomer and the co founders and now interim CEO was just lapping up all of the publicity because that, that all this publicity covered what their CEO did. Now on TikTok, someone tells me, oh, I gotta look this up. That, that Andy Byron is suing. We gotta look Coldplay. Oh, we don't know this yet. It just says he plans to sue. He plans to sue. A rumor that circulated online claimed he was preparing documents to sue Coldplay. So. But they're only basing it under many users under the post. No, it's also. It's social media. Oh. So Snopes said no, no credible. I. I don't think he's gonna sue. And the reason why I don't think he's gonna sue is be. And I can't say this, I'm sorry. Is what I've learned from the inside of the story. Okay. From, from being in the greater Boston area and being on my girls weekend. I don't think, you know, so. But I don't think it's the end of the story. I will say that there will be more on that, but it was a massive deflection play by astronomer Ryan Reynolds for Blake Lively and also for Gwyneth Paltrow, who's A biography by Amy Odell is coming. It was released this. And, and what I had said on my, my TikToks and you know, I post about it, it's that this, this book isn't going to be like a hit piece or a, a damage necessary damaging. But it's going to bring in all the conversations. It's going to start conversations again about Gwyneth, who's a very polarizing person and her in the past. Now I will say I'm getting a copy of the book from the author, Amy Odell, and she wanted me to. She said, you'll. You'll have to read the note at the very beginning where she explains dealing with Gwyneth's PR people. Now I don't know if. So she didn't tell me what it is. So I'm gonna get the book and I'm gonna read it and I'm gonna come back on it. We're gonna talk about it. I'll. I'll probably do like a, like a deep, like a little bit of a deeper dive on that in the fall because I'm going to do more deeper dives on certain subjects and turn some things more into quick hits and. But I'm reading that book, I'm reading the Gwyneth book because I want to pull out all the PR Michigast that, that we see in there. But 100% the astronomy play was a deflection for both Gwyneth for Ryan Reynolds and by connection by extension, Blake Lively. Now, she sat down for deposition. Her lawyer's office. Justin Baldoni was in the deposition with her. Justin Baldoni's lawyer, I think it was probably Brian Friedman wanted it to be live streamed. And which Blake Lively, no surprise, turned that down. But I thought that's a bold legal move. Justin Timberlake needs to find a CEO, not Lyme disease. Love that Leo, when he was accused of abuse and controlling behavior. We talk about Justin. Yeah. He has no grounds to sue. It wasn't a private concert as a house. Exactly. Exactly. So I don't think he's suing. I don't think he's suing. I think some people who made up the Andy Bar and fake PR statement are making up the ending. Yeah, I, I agree. I think it's just another, another crazy distraction that's, that's out there. So that's what's going on with Blake Lively, which I, I, I, I. The live stream was a joke. Hey, I'm glad you got to catch a live. But, but Blake Lively, no matter what happens with this live suit, it is going to be the single biggest detriment to her career. This, this entire lawsuit. Which part of me, like, feels for, feels her for a bit. Feels for her because it's, it's Ryan Reynolds. This whole debacle is because of her husband. Okay. Brian Freeman wanted to sell tickets to do at the Madison Square Garden. Yeah, that would be funny. No, what I just read is that. No. That asked for it and that Blake Lively declined. But then again, it was a quick read. I could have gotten it wrong. That's what I read. But that's what's going on there. So Justin Baldoni will, will be deposed or the case is in March. So now look, one story I wanted to share with you guys. I had, I had pulled this up from. I had pulled this up for. I had a, I had a, I had a. More. My first live started on Substack this week. I hope you guys can join me over there. I have a great membership there, a great community. I try to do a lot of lives on there and I tend to do more things you don't hear on Tick tock to the membership that I don't necessarily want live and, and blasted out there because I don't want, I don't want Justin Timberlake to come suing me because I made fun of his, his, his, his choice of disease. But one of the stories, you know, I, so first this week I did a lot of, I had a lot of press requests and I'd mentioned about the, the press cycle right now, which is so crazy because usually July and August are dead times in the news and now it's, it's so incredibly busy for viral stories. So now that makes my life busy. And in this week alone I've had reach out from network morning news shows, network news, both of which I did not do. I declined. I was on CNN yesterday. I did NPR's All Things Considered, BBC and all these interviews about these like trending celebrity stories. So one was definitely astronomer, two as astronomer, and the other one was Sydney Sweeney with the American Eagle ad. And that American Eagle ad, you know, this, this campaign is nine days old. Nine days old. And if, if CNN is still doing a live hit. And I was in the green, well, the virtual green room waiting to go on. And they're talking about the hearing, the NTSB hearing about the collision between the US aircraft and the Army Blackhawk helicopter helicopter, you know, that killed so many people on that plane, including so many people in the US Figures Skating association and their families. And I'm thinking, oh my God, now I'm gonna talk about Sydney Sweeney in the next, like, in the next break. Like I, I hated that transition. But the Sydney Sweeney story, I, I, I don't care about it from the Sydney Sweeney point of view, but if you look at it from where we are, from a culture and a marketing point of view and from a political point of view, that's what I find interesting in it. I will never be convinced ever that it wasn't intentional. Like my sound bite that I memorized within an inch of my life, which I've probably now forgotten. The modern formula for outrage marketing is spark debate, drive engagement, ride the wave. And then when the dust settles, which will be news cycles Friday, you know, next week, American Eagle gets the clicks, the coverage which I said in cnn, I went the coverage and the cash from the cat and the cash. So it's a win, win for American Eagle. A lot of American Eagle customers, I mean, they don't care. I asked a lot of Gen Z custom, you know, you know, it was very informal survey But a lot of them, like, who cares? A lot of them. But it's designed to make people who should care and, and see, and see the ad for what it was and that they're, that American Eagle went from size inclusivity in 2016 to now they're just highlighting one conventional beauty standard. It's, it would not be surprising at all. It would be so easy when it went through all those hands at a marketing firm, you know, from concept to launch to say, hey, when we talk about beauty standards and jeans, why don't we just do shots of other people from other races? Like, would that be great? Or genders or, you know, whatever. You know, it doesn't have to be woke, but it could be just a little more inclusive. No, they didn't do that. And why? Because they wanted us to still talk about this nine days after it comes out, you know, live on cnn. So they got what they want and the stock went. And then. Yeah. So you're saying Garfield rocks at the White House made a statement. They did. And you want to know how I found out about it? I found out about it was on the CNN hit. Because when you do a, when you do live. And so two days ago when I was, I was asked network wise to go in studio, which it's so much easier in studio because you kind of see what's going on. But yesterday my point of view, one, it didn't pick up my camera, so I had to use my laptop camera, which sucked beyond belief. But you don't see anything. All you do is, is here. And it's not that you need to see the anchors, but you want to see what's happening on, you want to see what's happening on screen because part of the narrative and you kind of get a sense of where they're going and what they're doing, you can get more of the story. You don't know where they're, what they're going to hit you with. You don't know what they're going to hit you with. And then they told me, well, the White House has commented on it, you know, on the American Eagle. I want to say they did. Like, of course they did. So it was Stephen Chung and it wasn't really the White House, but it was the White House. Communications director Stephen Chong made a statement on X, shared a link from MSNBC that said, quote, this warped, moronic and dense liberal thinking is a big reason why Americans voted the way they did in2024. They're tired of all this end Quote, so that was the communication director who the week before, when discussing the story about Attorney General Pam Bondi revealing to President Trump previously in previous spring that his name was in the document in the Epstein files, if you will. His response was, that's a fake news story. The fact is the president expelled him, Epstein from his club for being inappropriate. Okay, so that's, these are two quotes that we have there. Someone said to have Sydney teaching a classroom and have every kid in desk with different color jeans. And they all said my jeans are xyz. But you're right, that would foster a continual convo for weeks. Absolutely. I don't think it will save the company. The brand has been struggling. People aren't going to spend their hard earned cash to stick up for them forever. Good point, Leilani, but you never, you never never know. Right? A lot of other brands are picking up or piggyback off in it too. Yeah, I, Lauren, I, I agree. I think it was from a business point of view. If you have KPIs from the marketing firm who came up with that, there's no doubt they're going to say it's a win, win. I mean, my goodness, if you're getting a response from the White House, they're going to ride that all the way home. Although it will be interesting because stocks went up as well. It's kind of like meme stock, but it'll be interesting to see what, what it does. Okay, so we've gone from Epstein. That was two, two weeks ago. We, and now we have, we had Astronomer that just swallowed us whole. But when I did an interview with BBC people, like UK people, they weren't really familiar with the story, which I thought was interesting. They, they're, they're like kind of heard about the Astronomy store. I'm like, that's interesting. And then, and now a story that came out yesterday that I want to show you. I saw it in the New York Times. It's about, I'm going back to the hill country for the floods that happened on July 4th in Texas, you know, tragically killed. I think it was 213 people. So a lot of people are mentioning, oh, if it was Beyonce. Yeah. Oh. So on Tick Tock that Sydney was met with and she okayed. Yeah, we don't know. Yeah, I don't know if that's been sourced yet other than Tick Tock. But that's like an easy assume on a Collab she would 100 have to do. I mean, she filmed it, for God's sakes. So she obviously knew about it. She filmed it and she did the voiceover so she definitely did. Yeah. Sydney's family being mega, but we, we know her family's conserved narrative but Sydney Sweeney has like, she tweeted support for BLM and all that and, but we don't know, right? We don't know. We don't know what publicists do or, or not. She grew up in Idaho, so I don't know. I can draw my own conclusions from that. But one story that was pretty tragic that I want to point out just from a PR perspective what's happening here because Kerr county, which is where the Camp mystic was held, where 28 campers lost their lives, they had the hearings that happened and oh, do I have age spots here? Oh God, didn't know that. So I wanna, I wanna highlight some of the things that said here. So starting off the hearing, we have a woman, Alicia Baker. She said, I'm here on behalf of my 11 year old daughter passed away and my parents, Alicia Baker said through tears, through tears as she described the flood waters that rose around the family's cabin in Hunt, Texas. And so I'm reading from New York Times by J. David Goodman and Danny Hakam. The river that we love so much killed them. My daughter was not identified until the Thursday, the 10th, she said, and the only thing that identified her at all was a charm bracelet. Oh, like that's hard. So this was three and a half hours of testimony, but listen to this. This is pure spin. So this is from the Texas Emergency Management Coordination center or coordinator. Now keep in mind, like when you hear all this, the Trump administration wants to disband fema. He does not want FEMA responding to disasters anymore. He wants it to happen locally. So this is what happened locally in Texas. So. Mr. So this Thomas, who's the emergency management coordinator, this is what he said. He said that alerts from the county would have been duplicative, like meaning his county, since the National Weather Service had already triggered several alerts as the water rose. So he's saying we didn't need to do any work because it was already being done by the National Weather Service, which isn't emergency management, they're the National Weather Service. Also, he didn't know if Camp mystic had state inspection records. They did as they found out, or I mean, emergency plans. A state inspection found out that they did, but only six of the 19 camps had them. And you want to know whose responsibility it is that there are emergency management plans submitted to the emergency management office local officer? His. It's his responsibility. Okay, so because he's the coordinator, because it's his job is to oversee preparation in response to the fire. Fire. So this is what, this is what he said he was doing. He said, Sorry, I gotta go to the quote. I, I stayed in bed throughout July 3 and did not participate in the regular, regularly scheduled 10am and 3pm Texas Emergency Management Coordination center calls. So he did this with someone. There is no doubt because every detail is in here. This is spin. This, this is the definition of, of spin. He said his supervisors were aware that he was off duty, which could simply be as simple of simple as him just submitting vacation requests or saying that he was out of office. And then said he slept most of July 3rd. So all the storms happened late that day into July 4th. Awoke briefly at 2pm when he said there was no indication of local rainfall and then went back to sleep again until his wife woke him up at 5:30am on July 4th. He had a bout of 24 hour Lyme disease. Jaden. He woke up at 5:30 a. On July 4th. That means he spent an entire day in bed. Now, the reason why he was off, like he, this is how he started his testimony. I want to directly address questions about my whereabouts. But he explained that he was off because he had a fulfilled commitment to my elderly father and that was because of progressing illness and that's the reason why I stayed home. That's what he said in a statement. But yet when he got into the over sharing of the details, which he did, he was in bed all day. I don't know how he was helping his elderly father with a progressing disease, but if he did, he did it from REM sleep because he was only up briefly to look out the window and then went back to sleep and got up at 5:30am the next next day. That is that spin. So then another guy, Rob Kelly, so he's another top ranking official in Kerr county who directs emergency management. When he was asked during a press conference why the county or was not ready to do that, he had said before he didn't, he didn't know the answer. He didn't know now. But here's his answer now. At the testimony, many have asked, where were you? Why hasn't the county been better prepared? Why wasn't there evacuation order? Well, my wife was at home during the early hours of July 4th while I was at our lake house preparing for a family gathering. He was on vacation. And again, and so this is my PR take on it, you know, for advice here. And this Is the advice that I give clients. It is okay to tell the truth, to manage with within expectation. If it's July 3, people would expect you to be off. I mean that's normal that you might be off on the July 3rd and July 4th. However, what's a problem for them is they knew that. That the weather was ripe for a storm like this and there were. There were alerts there that this could happen. And when like him saying like the first guy that he was in bed at 5:30, it was already raining at that point. There were already alerts. The National Weather Service was already doing these alerts at that time when he was in bed. But he said my wife was at home during the early hours he was at the house. We received no alerts suggesting extreme weather event was eminent. My first indication that the storm was different came when I woke up to text again. All they do is sleep. That's what every emergency manager does to sleep. Calls from Chief Kid, Sheriff Letha and Dalton Rice. We now know that by the time the flooding had already overtaken Camp Mystic. Something I could never have imagined. So we have to frame it as it was unbelievable. This extreme weather event was not forecast by the National Weather Service in a timely member. That is a direct blame shift to the National Weather Service. One that's not their job. Their job is to alert to weather. That's their job. This guy's job is to alert to emergencies. That's their job. The deflection on this is incredible. So the fact that he's testifying that he's a second home, I mean he was on vacation. It just end the story right there. You were on vacation. That's it. Then the lieutenant governor comes in, Dan Patrick saying, judge Kelly, I never saw you on day one. I came here from Austin in this room. I talked to the sheriff multiple times. I talked to the mayor multiple times. We had a meeting when we got here. You should have been here. You should have been here directing the response. That's the problem. The sleeping beauties. Exactly. So this. That's an interesting story. That is an interesting story. So when I read that even when I covered this a month ago when this happened and I was showing clips like when the mayor, Joe Herring Jr. Mary of Kerr was Kerrville was. Was lecturing the press about how embarrassed he was about how they acted like at a press conference when they want answers and no one gave them answers and why didn't anyone give them. Because now we find out in testimony that they were all sleeping. Oh, and not only that they're on vacation with their. With their father. Elderly fathers who were. Had progressive diseases there. But we were asleep. Yeah, Dan Patrick. Exactly. So and Dan Patrick, why is he going hard after them? Because he doesn't want the state to get involved. He doesn't want it to come back on the states. He doesn't want that. And Greg Abbott, Governor Greg Abbott. And then two very quick quotes, like a ballsy quote. And I'm pretty good here. Both of these are from. Okay. They're from the entertainment realm. But sometimes it takes people in celebrity world, entertainment world to, you know, kind of do their own press and their own. Sometimes they. They don't care what they say. And in this case, it's going to be Adam Corolla. And I found this in my news app this morning because he was talking about Ellen DeGeneres. And she's someone who I did way deep. I mentioned her in my book Indestructible. And you know, because her whole thing spiraled from Twitter when it was Twitter, when a comedian came out and said, hey, can anyone share like their negative stories about Ellen DeGeneres? And the floodgates opened. She never responded to it. And then the pandemic happens. And doesn't discuss it, sits in her mansion, never says anything with empathy whatsoever. And it kept building and building and building. When we find out that there was bad will. Was Abbott on vacation too? Yeah, Abbott was there or Abbott was. Yeah. Because Dan Patrick was the first person at the presser because Abbott was on vacation. You're absolutely right. So this is from Adam Carolla talking about Ellen DeGeneres. So this is ballsy. He said that he. When he was on the show there, he signed an NDA. So he couldn't say who said this to him, but a writer kept coming in and kind of hounding him a bit, saying, when are you Camp mystic flood in the 70s and again the 80s. Corindue grows there as a camper. So not unmanageable PR tip. Don't say things that ordinary people can easily contradict. Absolutely. Margaret Doyle. Yeah. 1987, they have massive floods there too. And the. And the bus got taken away and it is a low area. Oh, and I know I'm going back and forth on this, but yeah, I was there. I was there. I forget, but I. I was at that river. I was at that river because I was dying to go on a run and it was so freaking hot. So it must have been previous summer, fall, whatever. I gotta completely forget when I was there, but I ended up going On a hike. But I was at the banks of those rivers and so someone, me, you know, from the north, I was down there so hot and there were people camping there. I thought, oh my God, I can't imagine camping, camping in this heat. And there's not a lot, you know, there's not a lot of water down there, which is what brought me down there to go on that hike. But that is low country. That is absolutely low country. Cruz being on vacation. Yes, yes, absolutely. Oh my God. Remember that during the hurricane. But what was interesting for Adam Corolla here is he said that that writer said that, claimed that the writer who kept coming back into his green room to, to insist that he. I think it was. They wouldn't talk about beef or meat because Ellen DeGeneres might be a vegan or something like that. And he was noticing this writer was like so panicked to make sure they went off script. And the writer had told Adam Carolla, quote that Ellen DeGeneres was quote, the worst person I've ever met. So Adam Corolla just came out and said that the camper was on the New York Times, the daily podcast. Oh, and also that Texas monthly story about the editor, the arts editor. Oh my God, that story. So it's a horrible. The Texas flood is horrible. So these guys are spinning. And then another good quote that I found also Entertainment was Neil McDonough, if you know him, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Lightest size you've ever seen. Desperate Housewives suits. But he talks a lot about how he doesn't do any sex scenes or any intimate scenes or even kissing scenes with other women. He just doesn't do it. And he said that how hard that's been on his career. But he came up with a new movie. Movie. He's, he has, he's out with a new movie right now called the Last Rodeo. He wrote it, directed, stars in it about a former bull rider making a comeback. All these comebacks, I love that. But he, but his quote in here and I'm pulling out because I really like it quote, well, my wife was really is really hot. So she's a good looking woman and everything else can pale as compared to my wife Ruby. Isn't that fantastic? Quote from. From Neil. So the through line through these stories from, from, from Neil all the way back to the Texas flooding story is that the people in emergency management or should handle emergencies should be women. And I'm saying this as a former emergency manager, public affairs officer, external affairs officer pio all of those men like those Two men pulling both of them. What was the common denominator? They were sleeping. Both of them were sleeping. And they were sleeping all day. And who woke them up? Their wives with a phone call and a text. They're still looking for one more. Yeah. I mean that story is so sad. I mean that testimony from Alicia Baker that it took 10 days to find her daughter and they only discover. And they were only. They were only able to identify her from her bracelet. It's awful. Amen. A Women love that. Jaden. Absolutely. Jane. Amber. I love that. That is sweet that he did that for his wife. Isn't that sweet? But that's that takeaway. I mean, my God, Put, just put a woman. Emergency management. It is filled with a lot of self interest in there. All right, so let me go here. Heard Corolla say Ellen staff was perpetually scared. So was Letterman's. Yep. No meat. Okay, so you saw that story. Gay men would never. They'd be. They'd be awake at 3am with binoculars. I love that so much. I love that. It seemed like a lot of other people knew what was going on, but they didn't. Where's your backup during pto? Yeah. And it's not, you know, and here's the thing. If you work in emergency management too, or military, anything like that, if it's. It's. If you're paid by the people, that's the other. There's a distinction. If you are paid by the people, the tax money. If you're paid by the people, it is your job to be there. Yes. It's July 4th. I mean, we get it. But. Okay, so you're off. Great. It's July 3rd, you're off. Fine, we get you. It's July 3rd. But also on days like that is usually when you're on because things can happen. But now the storm's coming and we know it's coming and. Laura, welcome. Playing catch up now? Yeah, we. We started at the Justin. So now we're right here. But you know, that's coming and it's already raining. Get your ass out of bed and get. Oh, I'd like to hear from the wives. You want to know where my head went to when one guy's at the cabin, wife's at home. Why aren't they both at the cabin? They're at their lakehouse. If they're at their lakehouse. But I don't know. There's so many. There's so many extra details in there. So it could be as simple as they just were off to the day, off for the day and they didn't do it or they were doubling down so hard and explaining where they were that more. There are more questions about where we. I mean, really, for. For the head of emergency management to say he was in bed for 23 hours and 45 minutes for the day. Come on. Come on now. Come on now. All right, you guys. I got called in on weekends to my work and I managed. Molly, I love this answer. I got called in on weekends to my work, and I manage social media. Damn, girl, you're right. See how many people, even all the social manager meetings or social media people, nobody's life is at risk and I'm still expected to jump in and fix it. No excuses. Which is why social media jobs, especially when you run it for an important entity, sucks. And I always say that, that you social media people do not get paid enough. Comms people do not get paid enough. You're expected to be on call at the same level of senior management, and you actually are on call more than they are. And that sucks. A lot of local fire department definitely knew and saved so many because they were knocking door to door to wake people up. Brittany, you're absolutely right. You're absolutely right. And I'm saying this as someone who worked in emergency management, I'm saying that Dr. Abby is going to join us next Tuesday, 4pm Pacific Time, 7pm Eastern Time for our live. We're really going to get into the psyches and psyches of everyone. All right, everyone. I'm surprised they didn't blame Lyme disease for the. Seems to be the trendy thing to. To do. That's what they should have said. I was in bed with Lyme disease. Listen to Justin Timberlake. Okay, you guys delivered. Thank you so much. You guys keep the kiss cams locked down at the lake house. Exactly. Exactly. All right, if you want to join me for my next live, it's actually going to be members only for my sub stack. That's where we go. I like to go a little more off the record on those lives, if you know what I mean. These are kind of open and I don't want any litigation or any Justin Timberlake coming back at me. But you can join me there if you like, because in the fall, I got things, a lot of things coming for my members, which I'm going to be really excited about. When do I get my 23 hours sleep? Damn, you're right. I said. Well, that's why I said the same thing. Exactly. I want that. I may need Dr. Abby this episode. I know. I think we're going to ask Dr. Abby about. I. We're going to throw in Justin Timberlake in there. Why not? He's a trifecta. We. You know. Yeah, we're gonna. We're just gonna talk about this statement. All right. Okay, you guys, I'm gonna log off now. Thank you so much for joining me this Friday with your wit and wisdom at the same time. Okay, you guys have a great weekend, everyone. Thanks so much for joining me. The women stayed home. We're gonna end on that note. Bye for now.
