Two people who lived through DC's early 2000s recall September 11, anthrax letters, and the 2002 sniper shootings that made gas stations and doctor's appointments feel dangerous. They describe the overlapping crises as insane.
You were there 9 11. Yeah, I was.
There for 9 11. It was funny. We moved to, we moved to D.C. and all within like a year. We had the D.C. sniper story. We had 9 11. We had, you know, anthrax being delivered to the mail.
The DC will. I mean we can't get too far from the press conference here. But the D.C. sniper case. So I lived in Old Town during that case and it was a Sunday and we were getting gas in Manassas and. Yeah. And the next day the shooting took place. Kitty corner from where I was. And then the day that I had to get an ultrasound was the day someone was killed in Bethesda.
Yeah.
To live in D.C. at that time was insanity.
Yeah. Yeah. And. And you would, you would pick or we I was picking gas stations based on where, you know, I thought somebody could be hiding out and avoiding those places. So. Ye.
