In this monologue, the speaker argues that South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem’s political standing is weakening, using the recent departure of DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Trisha (Trish) McLaughlin as evidence. The speaker mocks Noem’s bland X statement praising McLaughlin, labeling her an “attack dog” and suggesting the exit reflects internal pressure and leaks, including references to Courtney Lewandowski and a controversial “Coast Guard blanket” story. The tone is informal, critical, and sarcastic, portraying the DHS spokesperson’s exit as a symptom of broader turmoil within the administration and a sign that Noem’s influence may be waning.
