Live Chat: Blake Lively "CRIES WITH RELIEF" as Justin Baldoni's $400M Lawsuit is DISMISSED

Molly McPherson reacts to Justin Baldoni's $400M defamation lawsuit against Blake Lively being dismissed. She breaks down the legal standard for defamation, analyzes Baldoni's lawsuit as a reputation-management tactic, and questions whether he remains hireable after being dropped by his agency.

Blake Lively has done it again. She has ruined my timing in my life. Hello, everyone. This was the day I've been. I traveled for a week. Today I was just gonna work. I'm still wearing. Look what I'm wearing. No makeup, nothing. But here we are. Because the timing of this is. Is killing me. Early 5am from Malaysia. Oh, my gosh. Is it 5am? Oh, my podcast editor needs my podcast. All right, everyone, I need to tell you this as well. I am, I'm on, I'm on YouTube right now. I believe I'm on YouTube. I'm broadcasting on YouTube, so I have a chat there as well, if it's easier to do it there or. Tick tock. Oh, Angie. Oh, audio. Okay, hold on, everybody. I need your opinions. I need your opinions unlively. I, I just hold on. Now I'm doing two things at once. Hold on, you guys, hold on. I'm doing two things at once. Let's talk about LA and Trump. Okay, here we are. So I am great. Oh, I'm becoming one of these content creators who sits and goes on online and then blathers on and on and on and on about their opinion on something. I've become one of those people. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but that's just not my typical business model since I, I do this work full time. But I, I was traveling all last week and I was on the road. I did a media training for two days. I spoke at Sesame street, which can I tell you, I love that. And, and, and I'm. But I'm just burnt to a crisp. And so today was a day that I was just gonna just catch up on my work. I already had my podcast about summer news stories kicking off with the LA riots and, and what was happening and, you know, starting with the Musk fight with Trump and what was happening there. Trump is overboard. Yes. So that's what the podcast was going to be about. It was going to be about that and about the summer, about summer news cycles and what happens in the summer and how, you know, the Musk and Trump fight. You know, let me change this title here too. The Musk and Trump fight went. Blake. Hold on. Blake and Justin. Summer news. Okay, I'll put la. I'll put LA as well. LA News just in there for now. Okay. And so my podcast was going to be about, like, what happens in the news cycle in the summer. And it was all set. And then as I'm just getting ready to record, the judge comes down with the, with the with the ruling in the lawsuit against Justin Baldoni. So I, I will admit I change, not admit that this needs some big admission, but I changed my podcast, the Blake Lively, because I've invested so much Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni, and Ryan Reynolds. I've invested so much content and energy into this case. I thought I, I have to do this. Like, I have to do this. So let's talk about this case. But this day was ruined by. Well, yeah, let's. Let me spend, let me spend just two minutes talking about our news cycle. What I originally was going to talk about. Oh, my God, my looks. I'm gonna, I'm gonna shut up about that. But let's just say I was not planning on going live today. But here we are. This is Molly in the Raw. How she looks like without a hair wash for days and days and days and no makeup or anything. But, you know, we had. And then I'm gonna go into Lively. Let's go from Musk, Trump, Baldoni. Let's, let's make that, let's make that through line. Because I can make a through line with this. We know last week, Thursday, when Musk started piling on Donald Trump. Okay, and what did Donald Trump do? Because I think the Donald Trump Musk story is very similar to Baldoni and, and Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. I have to say all three. Even though, Angie, people in your country claim to love Ryan Reynolds as the Tim Hortons spokesperson, there's still people out there who, who question his motives out there. And some of those people would be me. But you can, but you can. We can hop on YouTube or you can. Thank you. Or you can join me on. Or you can join me on Tick Tock. I'll probably end up more on YouTube at this point. Now, as a Canadian. No, thank you. That's good. But let me make the through line between Musk, Trump and then Lively and Beldoni and then I really want your opin. I, I want to know what you think. I know what I think, but I want to know what you all think as well. I really want to get your opinion on this. So Musk goes. There's been accusations out there, alleged behavior, drug abuse, ketamine, just, you know, behavior. Trump and Musk are dog and pony. Well, definitely is. We have a dog and pony show. We also have wagon the dog in there as well, Chris. Right. We would say that, but it is the one of the first times that we saw, we saw Trump retract. Okay, Take it in. He. What does he normally do? What Does President Trump normally do? He attacks. He goes all in. He goes all in. Darbo, Right. We deny, we attack, we attack the victim. And so it turns into this fight. But Trump, I say, is worried. Okay. Especially what Musk was saying about him. Now, interestingly enough, like, like Musk's father enters the chat today. That comes in today. Now, June, July, August, traditionally low news months. Okay. It's the start of summer. You're not going to see a lot of news stories out there. The news stories you are going to see are, you're going to see traditional news stories from newsrooms that start taking time off in the summer. So from Memorial Day to Labor Day is when newsrooms editorially, so we're talking, we're talking radio, newspaper, traditional media, local television, national television, but also online media as well. Social media keeps going, definitely because users are constantly on it. Okay. Oh, connections. Thank you for saying that about Ryan Reynolds doing the ad. You say it's about the tone, but I say it's all strategic. Right. Because everybody loves Tim Hortons and if you love Tim Hortons, you gotta love Ryan Reynolds. But we're gonna come back to Ryan Reynolds. I promise you. I am going to keep my train of thought on this one. So newsrooms, summers, we have vacations, okay? You're not going to get the hard hitting research stories, you're not going to get the exposes, you're not going to get a lot of political now. You're going to get, traditionally you're going to get back to school stories, you're going to get travel stories. There might be primary stories. Hair is eating down. What does that mean? What does that mean? Do you mean my hair? Are you talking about my hair and how bad I look? You're going to maybe you might have primaries. There's a lot of local races that are happening right now, but you're not going to get the big exposes. Now the summer though, is a time for reporters to research their stories. That's why, if you follow me, you guys tell me when is the biggest big. Oh, it means your hair. Oh, is that what it means? A.m. i was. I was. Did I just make an okay boomer comment even though I'm Gen X? Is that what it means? Down means good. Okay. I don't like these eyeglasses on you like the others like your insightfulness, but these match my sweater. Okay, all right. But in the. Okay, tell me everybody knows eating down looks good. Thank you. I will Talk about Patti LuPone at the end of it. What month is it? YouTube. Tick tock. Tell me, which month is the month where you see all the exposes? And this, I promise you, this is going to be about Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. What month? If you follow me, I've said this many, many times. Bianca with the win. Vicki with the wind. Olivia. Hey, Olivia. September. No one says this. This is just Molly McPherson. Molly McPherson says this. Molly McPherson did not make up Friday news dumps. I mean, I talk about it a lot, but Molly McPherson is talking about September news stories. Because every September, I come online and I go in and I look at all the stories that are breaking in September. Because reporters have months, like, they have three months to research stories. They're interviewing people. Okay? That's. That's why we get a lot of September news drops. Like these exposes. If you remember from two years ago, the Rolling Stone expose on Jimmy Fallon. The reason why Lizzo trembled. You know, the way the Lizzo story kept going on and on. It broke in August in a news desert, but there were no other news stories out there. All right? So that's why September is so big. It is June right now. So June is when we're gonna. So it' start of news stories kind of going away. But Blake Lively and Justin Baldona, you guys, this story started last August with the. With their. With the premiere of their dual premiere. It ends with us and also Deadpool. They were delayed because of the writer strike, and so then they both synced in August. Traditionally, not a great time for movie premieres at all. But again, the news desert in August, it gives people a lot of chatter. Back in August, if you all remember, the news for Blake Lively was very, very negative. Thank you so much, Daisy. Yeah. So we are. We're gonna. We're gonna. Okay. Okay. So live visibility restricted. Why are we talking about that? Okay. Okay. So anyway, help Eldoni somehow. Okay? There is still help for Baldoni. But I do want to get your opinion on this, too, because I. You guys know this story. So back in August, I wrote a story for Forbes. That's when I was a Forbes contributor. I stepped down this year because I've moved everything to. To substack instead. I thought, why am I getting Forbes all my clicks? I'll just get them myself. And in my community. It's a lot more fun than. Than the Forbes community. But anyway. But I noticed when I watched the. The press around this. This movie, and it wasn't anything I was really paying attention to, but I was just noticing, like, why am I getting inundated with all this positive press about Blake Lively, particularly in People magazine, that's when my antenna went up, is when I notice all of this manufactured press, that word manufacturer comes in a lot. And that's when I started to pay attention. And that's when I noticed that. Okay. And that's when I notice I will block. Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. And that's when I noticed that. That there was a lot of strategy, that there is a lot of strategy coming on, that there's a lot of strategy happening there from Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, I think. Oh, Chloe, if you're the Chloe, who I think you are, do you feel better? Gloves Chloe? I hope so. I asked about you. I asked Rory anyway. But they knew that things were going negatively in August. Okay. They knew that was. That was happening there. And, and, And Baldoni was getting railroaded. Okay. So then Beldoni does hire a crisis PR firm and let Molly also be known for this as well. Thank you, Michelle, for saying that after they got. Let it also be known that, you know, I say this, too, and this is what my podcast was about. And I want your opinion, you guys. I want your opinion on this. I, I get asked all the time in my job. I, I. Let me go to my. Let me go to my podcast script. So this is going to come out on, on Wednesday. But legal people come to me all the time about legal maneuvers. It happens all the time. They, they. They call me and say, someone said something about me and I want to sue. I. We're going to talk about LA and Trump. I promise you we're going to come back to that. I mean, it's a part of it, and they want to sue. And I, I run through a series of questions with them about suing, because when you get legal, it can just really muck. It stands still even though it's refreshed. Oh, it's not on mine either. Oh, maybe. Because you know why? M. It's because not that many people are commenting yet. Okay. Because usually I push people from TikTok to YouTube, so, you know it's bad. Yeah. So anyway, it's. But when people go legal is when things get mucked up. Like, look. And then in the opposite of that, the counter of that is what Trump is doing now. So to bring it back to Trump, everything happening to everything that Trump is doing now, from an administration point of view, what happens to it? It gets blocked legally because there's, there's grounds to be able to do that, and that's why people do it. Trump knows this, but he's creating it as the distraction. He's creating events to cause distractions. People always create. People can also use legal to create distractions. The same reason. The same reason. Thank you, Angie. The same reason why Trump is ordering the National Guard and all these things to happen in Los Angeles is because of Musk of late last week. He needed that diversion, and he needed to block and stop what Musk was doing. He needed to create different headlines. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. And I say the two of them needed to do the same thing. Leo on the, on YouTube is saying Trump is desperate. When someone is weak, they throw tantrums. Trump is too emotional. I'm going to tell you, I think the same thing happened from August into the fall of last year for Blake and Ryan, and I think the emotional one is Ryan Reynolds. Okay. Because they went legal. Now, I, I also want to mention, I finished my podcast. I finished my podcast. And then Blake Lively puts out a statement. Okay, so let's, let's, Let me, let me wrap up the Trump part and we can come back to Trump. But it is true, you know, now it's Trump versus Gavin Newsom. Gavin Newsom is someone who I think was, you know, trying to figure out, do I, do I kind of stay in the same lane with conservatives or moderate Republicans and get them. So it looks like I'm kind of playing along a little bit with Trump, you know, especially with the LA wildfires. Newsom look better than Karen Bass. Karen Bass is a target to Trump. Is an absolute target to Trump. California, incredibly liberal. I think Trump used these riots and bringing in the National Guard to mute Musk. And does that sound silly? Yeah, because that's why. That's, that's how he does it. He's emotional in so many things that we do. So as a PR lesson, I'm going to tell you what in my podcast that's coming out on Wednesday, the PR Breakdown Podcast. What I'm already. What I'm going to tell you is that whenever you're thinking about doing something like making a legal move and wanting to use legal to correct a reputation, you have to check your emotion. Because usually when I have a client talking to me about making a legal move, they're emotional, they're pissed off, someone hurt them. Someone pissed them off. Someone said something to hurt them. All right? So right now I am on TikTok live and YouTube live. I'm looking at both of your comments. Though I will say it's a lot easier to look at comments on YouTube live Newsom is. Is just. Is just a pick me for presidential calculated politician. Oh, yeah, there's no doubt about it. Newsom is doing things right now. He's our lot of. Is calculated, but a lot of it is. There's riots happening in his state. He has to do something. But now, who's the pawn in all this, too? The National Guard. The National Guard. Okay. But with Blake and. And Ryan, With Lively and Ryan Reynolds, that also, I think, was incredibly emotional, why they were doing it. And I think the emotion. I still stand by this and others have said it, but I've said it from the beginning, that Ryan Reynolds had a problem with Justin Baldoni, and he wanted to put Justin Baldoni, like Baby in a Corner. But like Justin Baldoni, nobody puts Baby in a corner. Or Beldoni. Now, it is true. I gotta bring my script up. It is true that Beldoni took a hit. I mean, there's. There's no doubt about that. There's no doubt about it. They are Protestant rights. You're right, Michelle. I should say that the language from the right is the riots. This is a protest about what's happening. And also that I find it very interesting with, you know, where the Republic, where MAGA does well is with the immigration issue. You know, they do well with that, with maga, but maga, but they're going after workers. And workers is what, you know, a lot of these immigrant workers is what's fueling our economy. So it's an. It's an. But that's why I think it's the desperation of Musk. I think it shows how afraid Trump was about what Musk is doing, how Musk is imploding all over. Not imploding. Well, actually, they both are. It's a path of mutual. Mutual discussion, mutual disruption. Not disruption, mutual destruction. Because citizens do have a right to protest. It's a protest, but Trump is amping it up to a riot. And. And that's coming out of my mouth too, because I was watching last night, the Sopranos. I just finished the Sopranos with my son. It took us years to watch it. This is the second time that I'm watching it. But we're watching this many Saints of Newark and it's the riots there. So let's go into the comments here. Angie Blake always misses. Oh, God. See, I'm not even going to finish your sentence first. Because, Angie, you and I are so in sync on this. We are. So. Any takes on the Karen Reed trial? Oh, my gosh. I cannot go into Karen. Read Right now, there's just. There's just too much going on. But I still. I. I think she. She'll come off. Oh, okay. So let me go back to Angie. Blake always misses the point. In my opinion, this was a chance to use the judge in court to validate her point. Instead, she made it about herself, but she doesn't have the public support. Angie has completely summed up my opinion. Now, I had just finished my. I finished recording my podcast, and then I get a notification. I don't even know where I got it. That Blake Lively posted. No, I think maybe. Maybe I looked at People magazine. Who knows? But Blake Lively posted something. Now, I want to mention. I want to. I want to. Bonus. Monday, Molly. Exactly. Yeah. Monday Molly. Molly is not camera ready, but she's. Blake Lively is killing me. So if you want to know the. The tactic that Blake Lively is going on, I don't know if you saw this. I want to get your opinion on this. Blake has to think critically after this decision because he has more time to rearrange the case. Yeah, Justin Baldon does. Let's see. Let me. Let me. Let me go here. And they keep saying women are too emotional to lead. The optics are good for Blake here, unfortunately. Damn her. Okay, let's. Let's. Let's talk about Blake Lively, what she's doing right now. So Blake Lively is taking a. A reputational move here. So she's doing PR strategy based on the judgment. Okay, so just the. Okay, so just four facts. The judge threw out the $400 million defamation lawsuit filed by Justin Baldoni. Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, New York Times publicist, total dismissal. All the defamation claims are gone. Justin Baldoni does have some course for appeal. But I say, though, do not get distracted by this headline. Do not get distracted by it, because as a PR manager, as a crisis manager, I am telling you, it is so incredibly difficult to prove a defamation suit. I do think that there was a reason. There's actually. There's some good here for Baldonia. And I'll tell you what it is for. I'll tell you what it is in a moment. Let me read Blake Lively's story that she posted on here. And my theory. And I want. And I want to know if you agree with me on this theory. Someone needs to fact check on me. Actually, hold on, hold on. Oh, I can't do it. Damn it. Okay, Angie, if you're still on this, you can do the fact checking. All of you, fact check for them. This for me. So here. She said this last week I stood proudly alongside 19 organizations united in defending women's. Wait, Women's apostrophe s. Okay. Women's rights to speak up for their safety. Like so many others, I felt the pain of retaliatory lawsuit. So here. I still think what she and Ryan did was retaliatory to Jessa Baldoni, including the manufactured shame. So this is a direct digit towards Beldoni that tries to break us. While the suit against me was defeated. I wouldn't necessarily say it was defeated. It was. The judge dismissed. Just. It didn't have enough. She didn't defeat. Didn't have enough. So many don't have the resources to fight back. That's very true. I'm more resolved than ever. Oh, boy. Seatbelts on. To continue to stand for every woman's right to have a voice in protecting themselves, including their safety, their integrity, their diggery, their dignity, and their story. There are protections out there. Check out some of the incredible organizations below. And then she lists them with love and gratitude for the many who stood by me. Many of you I know. Many of you I don't. Many. But I will never stop appreciating or advocating for you. Dash B. Okay, so here's my theory. I encourage you not to spread misinformation if you don't know what the hell is going on at Lacey. Oh. Oh, there's a lot of. At laces. What does Lacey say? Okay. Wow. There's a fight going now. All right, do I have to moderate this chat? Do I have to moderate this chat? Okay, thank you. Shoes also. Oh, hey, Danielle. All right, so here we go. Somebody fact check me on this, because I can't do it because I'm on my phone right now, and I don't want to get distracted. Blake Lively, the statement that she made there is a good statement. It's a good statement. It's a very good statement. I also do not think she wrote that statement at all. The reason why I think this is some of the tells that I look for in writing, in the semantics of it. And someone needs to fact check me on this. There are two spaces after every period. Okay, that's not. That's. That's not how millennial, Elder millennials write. That is how Angie. Thank you. That's not how they write. Okay. That's how older people, perhaps the age of her publicist, Leslie Sloan writes. Okay, so that's number one, someone. And. And there's other spaces there, you know, after commas, which, you know, could be because it's Instagram. But the periods are intentional, so I'm just putting that out there. And it incredibly publicist. Like, okay, two spaces always does she. Okay. Blake has never said anything remotely close to that about women, so it seems manufactured. She's never been an advocate for anything. Also emotional. I agree. She didn't write it. Yeah, I don't think she write now. Can we. Can we criticize her for writing that? No. I mean, celebrities, you publicists all the time. I. I write statements. I do it. People hire me. And people shouldn't call them up. You know, call people out because other people write it. I'm not calling her for that. So. Yeah, I'm sure this was already written and ready to go. Absolutely. I would agree with you on that. So she did not write this. Now, what's. You're a two spacer and I'm not a publicist. Well, not that tooth spacing is wrong, but too spacing is from a typewriter. We don't use typewriters anymore. So it's okay. I'm not shaming my two spacers out there. There. I'm not. I don't want to shame my two spacers. I'm not. But it's accepted practice now to not two space. And I will admit to ageism here when I see it. I'm assuming it's someone over the age of 45. I'm just saying. So it's not wrong that she already had this raring to go. It was a holding statement, though. You know, it was strategic. So now Blake Lively is positioning herself as the woman's victim, and she is going to lean in on how she was treated. Now, I want to say this. It is important that it is important thing because women have been victimized in, well, every sector, but including Hollywood. Women have been victimized. Women and it. And actually, even when I was reading this too, like, when it says defending women's rights to speak up, I kind of feel like. Doesn't everyone need rights too? Like, don't, don't, don't. Doesn't LGBTQ plus need rights? Like, don't. Don't immigrants? Like, a lot of people need rights right now? There are a lot of people in this environment and also with our new administration, like, think back of how long it's been since this Blake Lively case has been going on. Let's not diminish women's right. Women's rights are really, really, really important. But there are a lot of people out there who's. Whose rights are being trampled right now. This seems like mutual Destruction. How does Justin or Blake or Ryan move forward? Who would want to hire them? How do they capitalize on the comeback story, which I feel is Justin, not Blake? It's okay, J. Kim, that you use two spaces. It's okay, but I'm just using it as an I. Her identifier. The identifier that tells me that she did not write this post, that it was more holding statement. Less, less straight from the heart on my Instagram stories. That is going to be shared on white background. It's the same font that she uses in a lot of stuff, so it feels very copy paste pasty ish. But. But this is her strategy now. It's going to be about women's rights and how women are treated in Holly. But what's also interesting, did anyone. And I'll talk about what, what do they do next? Did anyone happen to read the article in the New York Times about Harvey Weinstein's publicist? Anybody? Because Harvey Weinstein, believe it or not, not only do we have the Spelling case, not only do we have the Karen retrial. Did he. We also have Harvey Weinstein too. And it was a story about his publicist and, and, and how he's hoping now that me too, isn't as much of a thing that he may get some breaks there. And you know what? As. As far as the strategy goes, not an awful one. I mean, still, though, he committed crimes. That's different than perception. It's not a perception that Harvey Weinstein assaulted people. People. It's a fact. It is a fact. But I think the mood has changed. And right now, like with what's happening in Los Angeles was what's happening with this country, there's a lot of people feeling like victims right now. There's a lot of people feeling like victims. And Blake Lively, using her victim strategy, RFK Jr. Removed all 17 members. Oh, God. What breaking news story is that? I don't even want to open that notification. I don't even want to open it. I don't even want to know about RFK Jr. I read that Friedman's firm has a previous lawyer of Taylor. Oh, I mean, also look at Taylor Swift. Okay, so let's look at some of the comments. Criminals like Trump can pardon criminals like Harvey Weinstein. That's true. But I don't know if Trump needs to. Right. Like, what's the win in there? She started to set us up from her appearance on the sets, Meyer. She said something like the statement I wanted to. Blake is a champion for Blake. Purely opportunistic Opportunistic. She's done more for the antebellum than for women and girls. She's always been full of it. Oh, Gawker. Throwback Michelle asking what background is best for a statement. Oh, you mean what to put on here? Well, you know, it's when people don't want statements to be seen is when you usually see them on dark background background a la Patti LuPone. You know, usually when it's on a black background. I think her. I think Patti LuPone's background was brown, I think. Wasn't it like brown with pink lettering or something like that? Patti Plone. See also, like, what a great example. Patti LuPone, who was, you know, this, you know, actress, always brash, brassy, spoke her mind. It was a part of her diva like, Persona, you know, on Broadway. It matches Sunset Boulevard. It matched Evita, you know, it matched who she was. It caught up to her. It just caught up to her. And then, you know, I had 500 people coming out and saying something against her. She had to say something. She had to. Because when her colleagues now and people. When you're beloved, but then you're not so beloved. And I don't even think this is a case. You know, there is a little bit. I'm just going for Patti LuPone on the moment because I know people mentioned it and then she responded to it. That magazine article was not a great article. That was a pat. That was Patti LuPone. You know, two years ago, three years ago, four years ago, that would have been pure Patty, right? It would have been all Patty. It just doesn't work that hard to be so mean, you know, like we have. When you have an emotional president who makes emotional decisions. Patti LuPone can't be emotional anymore. You can't be. You can't be emotional because someone in the next theater is making noise. People don't have the patience for that anymore. Right. Are you really now doing the All Lives Matter thing? Oh, Christ. Do we have some of those people in here now? Okay, so that's not the conversation I want to have. I am not an All Lives Matter person by any means, but what I'm saying is from a perception point of view, in December 2024. Well, I mean, just think about moods. Like, think about moods in 2016, 17. Like, me too. Mood movement. Think about that. You know, it was so many people were standing behind women, like women finally had a voice of women who were treated a certain way. But what was interesting that happened is me to hashtag me too was Assault, Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby, Kevin Spacey kind of fell in it, even though it wasn't technically me too. To men who treated men who were douchebags, who treated women poorly, women who didn't, you know, women who didn't get certain things. You know, it's like it was an umbrella term. So on the one hand it was good because it created like a movement, a mobilization where women had a boys. There's a lot of good that came from me too. A lot of good that came from it. But whenever there's a mobilization, and I'm saying this from a reputation, as someone who works in reputation management, whenever there's a mobilization for good, there's always the weaponization of the mobilization as well. Then people get afraid. People don't. I, I can't tell you how many white guys, middle aged white guys told me. It came to me like for help, for stuff. And the question was, well, did you do anything? I mean, just because you're a white guy doesn't mean people are going to attack you. But if you did something, you know, but what is it, you know, that you did? So I think. And then that kind of morphed into 2020 when we had Black Lives Matter, right? And what happened in Minneapolis when George Floyd was killed, that became a movement like a mobilization. And all of a sudden everybody was like black Lives Matter. But then part of it got weaponized because part of it too becomes very radical. So then you have radical sides of it, you have middle of the road sides of it. You have curious sides of it. There's just so many packets of it. And it gets weaponized politically, which is exactly what Donald Trump did. It allowed MAGA to get their movie movement moving because if parts of a movement get radicalized or weaponized, it gives groups like a mega openings that everything. That's why we got the term woke now. And so the, the, the downside is really important. Movements get diminished and then people get upset because it's all into one bucket. And that, that's, that's the bad thing that comes out of, of it. You know, real victims get lost. Real victims get lost. So now and, and so to talk about Blake's lively. Blake Lively talking about women, it makes me wonder, does it work? I want your opinion on this. Does it work? The Harvey stuff is so weird. He didn't interview with Candace Owens. That's so interesting that you said that. That was in the article. His publicist. His publicist. You've got to read the New York Times article about I have so many. I have so many windows open. Blake Lively cried with relief after Justin Baldon's lawsuit to missile dismissal. Actually, I don't doubt that that's not hyperbole because she probably is incredibly stressed. But let me get this. Because remember, I'm a publicist. I'm not a lawyer. I don't break down the legal stuff. There are plenty of other people out there who do that. And, and I'm not going to discuss about the legal piece of it. I just discuss why using legal as a weapon in PR is always dangerous. And Blake Lively is an. And Ryan Reynolds is an example of that. They won parts of this. I mean, they. I mean, this was a win for them, but it's a. They won a battle, but they lost the war. The article in the New York Times is called the Perks of Being Harvey Weinstein's Publicist. It is so good. If you follow me and you like what I talk about, then you're going to love this article because this is just Molly written over it. I read this in Oklahoma as tornadoes were coming and they were announcing in the airport, oh no, on tv they were saying everyone at the Oklahoma airport right now is taking shelter. I'm like, no, we're not. We're all standing by the windows. Everybody's filming. No one's taking shelter right now. But I read this article and they talked about Candace Owens. And the reason why he's doing it is he wants. And this is so much about the case. Even with Beldoni and Lively. It's using online commenters to create doubt in minds of juries, to bring more scrutiny to court cases to make sure. And judges and lawyers are going to make sure they don't get it wrong because there's so much scrutiny. So that's why he's going to people like a Candace Owens. Candace Owens thinks Harvey Weinstein is a Me Too victim. Exactly right. That is what I'm talking about. That is the weaponization of mobile. Of mobilization. The mobilization of Me Too was very important to a lot of victims out there. A lot of women. And. But there's all. And there's different degrees of Me too. I mean, my God, I worked in Washington D.C. in the 90s. I was freaking. Me too. Left and right. It was great to kind of see this. But then, you know, and that's what brought the. The Harvey Weinstein case, which is a good thing. But that now his publicist is showing the weaponization of it as well. So every mobilization that we have. So that's why it goes back to the beginning. I want to know your opinion. Is this. Is this women take. Do people believe it From Blake Lively? And is it going to work? Okay, Blake still. Blake thinks we're still in 2016 with her PR angle. That's interesting. I've been seeing online that the judge or his brother have connection with Selma Hayek. And while Selma Hayek is close with Blake and Ryan. Oh, I haven't read that. Like the court, like the minutiae stuff. I. I don't know, but that's interesting. Blake is a champion for Blake. Purely opportunistic. She's done more for that. Okay, we. I read that. Sorry. Oh, more comments. They've been taken. They've taken important subjects and bastardized them. That's a good comment. Is your content also the alt right pipeline? I see a lot of people mentioning no. God, the alt right pipeline. No. What about Jared Leto News? I'm up. I'm not up to date on Jared Leto. Selma is close with Blake's sister much more than Blake. Okay, interesting. I do not know about that. Becky, thank you. Is your. Okay. I cannot read that. Patty went after the wrong people. Erica, you're right. And you know, and. And again, like Patti LuPone, she was just pissed about noise and look what it turned into. Let's see some of these comments. Justin Bell. Okay. Justin Baldoni is 100 hireable. Do we agree on that? Is Justin Baldoni 100 hireable? What do you think? I have an opinion. Where are these alt right weirdos coming from? I never seen this in your lives. I know. Well, hopefully that was just someone asking. Do you all not know these creators who follow these assumptions are hilarious? Yeah, Molly, they are just trolling you. I know. Molly. Oh, right. Yeah. Let's see. I think the mouse miscalculation Blake made with that decision to try and align, so to speak, is that people that manage to succeed with that. I'm kind of thinking R. Kelly. Yeah, right, right. I mean, there's no question that women. What's the book I'm reading you guys? I keep mentioning it and I put it down. Burn. Is that what it's called? Burn About Hollywood? I mean, women have dealt with bullshite for years. So it's good that this is finally coming out. But I think that there's. Oh, I mean, Hollywood is being decimated in general, isn't it? But the problem I think I have with Blake Lively doing this is this rampant, this just hard accusation against Blake Lively. I mean, against Justin Baldoni when. When Blake And Ryan, what they're doing to him. That. That's. That it's. It's almost like the. The goal. The goal. The gall. Right. I don't think victim suits Blake. Good comment. Swifties are not lively fans anymore. Oh, speaking of mobilizations. Swifties. That's interesting. That's interesting. We still have team Justin because men have rights to. And he's the target to the red pill alpha male. You'd hire them. Okay, so let's go into hireable. Let's talk about Justin Baldon. So I asked, do you think he's hireable? And a lot of people are saying yes, that they think he's hireable. I. Let me go from my. My podcast. Let me. Let me go to my podcast to see what I said about this. I already know what I said about this. Justin Baldoni is 100 hireable. Justin Baldoni lost. Justin Baldoni lost the defamation suit. I mean, he can appeal. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But so this. This is tough. But we now what. What that lawsuit did, if you remember. Let's go back in time. Let's do the timeline. December 2024, when Blake Lively filed the civil complaint in California against Justin Baldoni. That civil complaint came out simultaneously with the New York Times article, which was, in my opinion, retaliation. They wanted to bury Justin Baldoni. Justin Baldoni within 24 hours, was dropped by WME. Also the same agency used by Blake and Ryan. That guy got railroaded. That guy got rail freaking roaded, and that's why he filed defamation. Now, the problem with definite defamation, and this is why this case is difficult for him. I think it's possible. Brian Feldoni. Justin Baldoni, within 24 hours was dropped by WME. Also, Friedman knew from the get go. I think I have to do this for myself. I think I have to do this. Maybe I would have to do this. It's a no makeup day. Oh, this is. This is pointless. This is pointless. I don't look good. Oh, I look natural. We'll say that. I think he knew. It's tough to win. You want to know why? Because lawyers know that defamation. Defamation is really, really difficult. It is so difficult. Let's do. Let's go back to college. Any of my journalism majors there. Any of my com majors. How many of you took. And we'll come back to Justin. This is going to tie into Justin being hireable. How many of you took a journalism ethics course? The history of journalism? Okay, so a quiz here. You know, what is the definition? Okay, first, let's just talk about defamation. 101. All right, and then. And then you tell me, is he. Is Justin Baldoni hireable? And what this does to Blake Lively and what this does to Ryan Reynolds. See, I already forgot him. Okay, so defamation 100. I know. This is so annoying, but who knows the famous lawsuit that really kind of kicked off where it's with the press. And go back to your journalism ethics course. 1964 landmark Supreme Court ruling. Does anyone know? I have to ask. You can go to the goog if you want. Who said Diddy hasn't been dropped by wme? Oh, is that true? They dropped Justin Baldoni and they keep Diddy. Oh, my God. Does anyone remember it was New York Times versus does anyone know 1964. Okay, I'm going to put it in here because who wants to do that on a live. Who wants to talk about classes? Sullivan. Okay, so that's where defamation started. Does anyone remember that from college? I certainly do. Okay, so this is what you need to do. Now, I am someone who works with people who want to file defamation lawsuits. No kidding. Okay. Someone. Actually, I worked with someone last week and we had a legal sitch too. And mostly my advice is 99.9% the same. But defamation. The statement's false. Now think about this in terms of Justin Baldoni. The statement was false. It was communicated to a third party, the person who said it was at least negligent. And it causes real harm to reputation. What you need to do, you have to prove it. You have to prove it. And part of the reason why the. The. The. The case against Belda or with Baldoni's case was dropped. A lot of it you couldn't prove. He couldn't prove it. You can't prove what Ryan Reynolds. That Ryan Reynolds was maliciously harming him. That's. It is so difficult to prove. It is. Now it doesn't mean that you don't win. Like, here are some cases. So I mentioned these in. In the podcast Sarah Palin vs New York Times. I'm sure you are all following that case in April as closely as you're following Karen Reed. She lost her defamation case. There's Shannon Sharp. He was. There are accusations a woman made against him and he came out. I did a post about this. I'm gonna sue. I'm gonna sue. I'm gonna sue for defamation. That didn't go anywhere. But then you. And then Brett Favre. Shannon Sharp, too. Brett Favre sued Shannon Sharp over something. Said Shannon Sharp on that. But now some people win. Johnny Depp. But that Was a little murky. We had a lot of bots there. We had way too much television coverage, way too much influence there. Dominion Voting Systems versus Fox News. That was a defamation suit. And that was a. It was a media reckoning. $787.5 million judgment. So that's the largest publicly known defamation case. And then E. Jean Carroll versus Donald Trump, she won that defamation suit. So defamation suits. But think about who won. Like Donald Trump, she had to prove. She had to prove it and she could because Donald Trump is, you know, all over the place. Judge said it's not defamation because Reynolds believed that he was a sexual predator. Because he believe Blake. Right. And remember this. So Blake Lively. Blake Lively is taking this as a win and strategically saying that it's a win for women and women's rights. But that's not what this is about. It's just that Justin Baldoni could not prove a defamation case. And to go back to is Justin Baldoni hireable or how. How bad is this for him? I mean, certainly, yeah, he wishes he would have won this case, but his lawyer, Brian Friedman, likely knew how hard it was going to be. It was going to be incredibly difficult to do. And part of the information that for this. So Blake Lively. Blake Lively is taking this as a win and strategically saying that it's a win for women and women's rights. But that's not what this is about. It's just that Justin Baldoni could not prove it. Blake Lively had it was tied into the Stephanie Jones case and that she got the publicist phone, Jennifer Abel's phone. So they had information ahead of time to do that New York Times piece, which was a hit piece against Justin Baldoni, an absolute hit piece to support her civil complaint. Justin Baldoni files defamation Case and to go back to is Justin Baldoni hireable or how. How bad is this for him? I mean, certainly, yeah, he wishes he would have won this case, but his lawyer, Brian Friedman likely knew how hard it was going to be. It was going to be incredibly difficult. Almost. It's in some cases you. Well, actually in a lot of cases you don't file because you think you're to do. And part of the information that you're going to win, you file because you want to tell your story. Justin Baldoni, why I think Blake Lively had it was tied into the Stephanie Jones case and that she got the publicist phone, Jennifer Abel's phone. So they had information ahead of time to do that New York Times piece, which was a hit piece against Justin Baldoni, an absolute hit piece to support her civil complaint. Justin Baldoni files almost. It's in. In some cases, you. Well, actually in a lot of cases, you don't file because you think this isn't going to be a complete. You know, it's not going to be, you know, horrible for his reputation. Because I think this lawsuit was about. Was a lot about fighting back. He wasn't going to be steamrolled. He wasn't going to be steamrolled. He wasn't. He's saying, I'm not guilty of this. I'm not going to allow this to happen. Particularly when it was Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively who have so much more power than Justin Baldoni. So I think a lot of it was his lawyer said, let's do this. It brought a lot of recognition. Justin Baldoni's name. He's far more famous now than he was before any of this started. I think he has a lot of sympathy, a lot of empathy. And you're gonna win. You file because you want to tell your story. Justin Baldoni, why? I think this isn't going to be a complete. You know. Yeah, it's a step back for him, but I still think it helped. That's just my opinion. That's just my opinion. What do you think the nice pool thing was? Opinion. So it didn't count as evidence. Right, the nice pool thing. Yeah, you're right. You're right. Yeah. The court said it was valid for any times. And Ryan believe Blake, the Sarah Palin one is so interesting from a psychological perspective. I know Sarah Palin, but the problem is no one cares about Sarah Palin. Dominion didn't have to prove malice because they aren't a public figure. I think press defamation suits need malice, not others. Yeah. And then there's press. There's also person versus press and person versus person. Those are. Those are different. Those are different things. And then you also have. You also have libel and slander and cease and desist. You know, people will call me and say, can I sue for libel? Can I sue for slander? You know, what's the difference? Let's go back to college in our journalism ethics class. Libel, remember? So the first three letters and libel is lib. The first three letters in library lib. So this is my mnemonic. This is my memory hack. My memory aid is libel is written and published or, you know, in publications, just like in a library. Slander is a spoken statement and it's S's. So that's how I keep. That's how I keep that in track. And then you have cease and desist. You have cease and desist letters and cease and desist orders. Letters are nothing. And I tell people all the time, they always come to me, I want to write a cease and decease letter. And I say, do you want the crisis to go away or do you want us to continue and to be shamed? Because that's what letters do. Thoughts on ABC and Terry Moran. I know Terry Moran. Did he, did he say all those things? That's crazy that he said all those things. ABC had to do that. You kind of have to do that because when the, when the press gets labeled, you know, for being more democratic, when you have a correspondent do that, like that's not their job. Their job is not to have opinions. Please make this content in a recorded video so I can report. Super interesting context. Well, thank you so much. I appreciate that. Okay, so Justin. I agree. Okay, so I agree. Justin has much more name recognition. So he's more famous. He would not have this. He would not have this big without all this. He's very good looking and very rich partner who can fund projects if need be. Yeah. So I think that, that Justin Baldoni is gonna be fine. This is definitely not great for him. It's a setback and it gives and it gives. Lively and Reynolds, you know, gives them their win. But I think Lively and Reynolds lost. I do. They, they won this battle, but I think they lost. Will they continue to make movies? Sure. I mean, will Ryan Reynolds continue? Sure. But this is a stain that's going to stand them for a while. Right, but isn't it Moran's First Amendment right? Not, not when you're a paid journalist working. When you work for a news organization, you represent the news organization. Terry Moran can say whatever he wants. But you have a contract that says that. Oh, you're on the Tick Tock live. Yeah, it's easier on my YouTube for the comments because I can also see them better. I remember the difference between slander and Lyle because of a funny J Jonah Jameson bit. Oh my God. Okay, I need to look that up. I need to look up J Jonah Jameson. That's my. That's my Days of Spider Man. That's funny. I can say without a doubt, oops. That JB is innocent and a victim and not even. Yeah, because I, I think Justin Baldoni is a victim too. I really do. I really do. Justin is fine. He has a lot of supporters who will work with him. I agree. And they're sick of the shizzle Sandwiches that Blake and Ryan fabricated. Yeah. The New York Times hit piece seems like it was on the tail end of Me too. Yeah. Wasn't that. Yeah. Well, Danielle, what it was. I don't know if it was technically like the tail end of me too, since that was. I would say tail end of me too is maybe in 20. 20, 19. 2020 pandemic. But it was the same writer, Megan Tuohy, who won a Pulitzer. That's who wrote the. The New York Times piece. So I'm sorry, Take the legal out of it. Let's just talk about the reputation of this. Blake Lively's team went to the New York Times to write that hit piece against Justin Baldoni while she filed that complaint. I am sorry. That is what I base my opinion on. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds on that strategy right there. Justin Baldoni had every right to retaliate. So the court case did not win. It got thrown out. Not a court case, but the lawsuit. It got thrown out. It got tossed. Because it is so difficult to prove. But everything you need to see if you want the truth of the matter. And there's so many content creators out there who can dive into the. Into the legal of it. God love them for being able to do it. So many of them. But all your answers go back to December. What's the date? December 19th. Whatever. That Friday was Friday and Saturday. Right. Sunday Moon. New York Time article was a hit piece. That is the move. Everything. No Phoenix Theater. No, I don't. I don't know. Everything you want to know about this case goes back to that. Goes back to that. All right. Goes back to that. No Phoenix Theater. No, I don't. I don't know everything. You. If anyone wants to read about an obscure Me Too scandal, look up what happened to the Me Too stem. And the person who ran that. Oh, that's interesting. Could he not be guilty of sh. But guilty of smear? You know, but the thing about the harassment, I mean, I. I don't know. I don't know all the details on the legal. I mean, I've read it. I've done all this, but I'm not a lawyer. And there's so much. There's just so much. So much legal there. Legal minutia. It did seem. And this just my loose take, my uninformed take. It did seem that the production, you know, that there's some looseness that Blake and Ryan took advantage of when it comes to those scenes. I also think the friendship between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, I mean, how much Did Justin Baldoni. Why was it loose? Because they were pretty close before Ryan got involved. Involved. Right. It exposed her friendship with Taylor. And I bet now they'll be besties again. I don't know about the Taylor thing. Is she going to be want to know about this case? Goes back to that. Besties with Taylor Swift again. I don't know. I. I don't think tree pain. I don't think tree pain is all of a sudden going to put these two together. Tree pain knows sentiment. People do not. People still do not like Blake. Lil, out of all the messages between Justin and Blake and then the video of her biting his lip during the kissing scene. Yeah. I mean, I think it was clear. And we all knew that Blake definitely went and worked with New York Times. Of course she did. Only after the article, they pretend to not know each other. Exactly, exactly. Exactly. What do you think about Taylor not necessarily releasing reputation. Taylor's version tree pain works too hard for that to be undone. Says Katie. Certainly won't be public friends again. In your opinion, Katie? I agree. I agree with you on that. I see divorce and Blake Livelies. I do, too. I don't see Blake and Ryan divorcing right now. There's too much of a win right now. But I. I don't see this marriage working out because I think Ryan Reynolds would not be a good person to be. To be married to. I wouldn't want to be married to Ryan Reynolds. I don't think that would be fun. Divorce or pregnant again. Becca throws in an outlier maybe. Oh, God. You know what if Blake Lively got pregnant? My God, my back is killing me. If Blake Lively got pregnant, that would be a move. That would be a move. I'm not going to deny that. That's. That would be a move. It was very obvious he wasn't guilty of a smear. But Blake and Ryan have had real huge smear campaign against Justin. I agree. Yeah. I mean, I would say, you know, you know, remember too, about smears. This is the other part where it's complicated and this is my business. That's what I do for a living. You know, publicists talk to reporters all the time. You know, I'm with a reporter. My partner's a reporter. I'm with him when he gets leaks constantly. He gets leaks constantly. He gets opinions. But, you know, but in celebrity, you're dealing with tabloid press. So shizzles. She was covering her stomach and fan photos yesterday. You guys, let's all call this together. June 9th Monday, June 9th. Let's call this together. Let's call that. The next things that we're going to see are those pregnancy photos. She. I don't. I don't think she'll be pregnant, but she's gonna. She's gonna move the headlines. Just can move the headlines that way. Can we all walk? Can we all. Can we all agree on this one? Can we all agree on this? People magazine. We're going to see photos of Blake holding her stomach. So that. That the. The strife that Blake went through brought her and Ryan together. Right? What do we think? What do we think, everyone? Should we call it now? If I work for Blake, I'd be back channeling. She had a miscarriage. But we can't back channel. That's retaliatory. But you're right. You're right. Let's call it. You guys. Let's call it. I thought Taylor was one. People were saying, we're pregnant. That's. You just set your watch on that. That's a recycle. We always do that. We're calling it. Please don't drag an innocent soul into this world for PR Shields. But you know what? How many babies are out there to save marriages? Maybe there are. I bet. How many babies are out there to save Hollywood marriages? I bet they're out there. I bet they're out there. I see a. I see loads of wholesome barefoot in the kitchen content coming from BL. You know what? Fake baby bump like uncle in that JLo movie. Oh, oh, the fake baby bump. Oh, now we're going to bring back maybe those conspiracy theories. Megan did it. Blake will do it. Miscarriage because of the stress. Okay. PR babies. Right. Jury better not feel sorry for when she's pregnant. Yeah. Oh, and the trial. The trial's in May, you guys. No. March. What month are we in? Elizabeth Holmes became pregnant for her trial, you guys. It's ten months from now. What do you think? What do you think? The fact that couples think a baby can save a marriage. I know, I know. My sister is one in your dad. Chris. What is that story? Meanwhile, Stephanie Jones is overlooked as the originator of the entire mess. Yo, yo, yo, yo. All right, you guys, it has been an hour, and it has been a great hour, and I want to thank all of you for joining me because I needed to talk about this because, Molly, why do you think Trump is not on the offensive in the must situation? Oh, I think we discussed. I think we discussed that in the beginning because he doesn't want to be. He does not want Musk being The main character. Let's just say that he does not want Musk to be the main character in his narrative right now. He's got to send the National Guard to distract. Does this mean that when they go to trial, JB no longer will be able to sue? Well, you know what? You know what it comes down to right now? Here's how this blows up. Ryan gets jealous of Blake's newfound power and takes this off track. Yeah, I, I, oh, God, I don't know if Blake's gonna get powered. Right? Maybe Blake will release an old video of her and Ryan twerking in the delivery room. Oh, like Meghan Markle. Well, the video was relatable, right? Meghan Markle. Meghan Markle in Disneyland. You know, I'm gonna say this about Meghan Markle. I don't want haters. I don't want haters. I don't want haters. But Meghan Markle is doing a lot of PR right now. Meghan Markle is doing the pr. I have said publicly many, many times that she needed to do. She needed to come off the high royal horse and just be an influencer. Just. Just do what everybody does. And that's what she's doing, whether we like it or not. She's at Disneyland. She's at. She's in delivery room. You know, she's all these things. Like, that's what she needs to do. She's bringing herself down to the level of influencers. So, like, or not, I think it was a smart move. Okay, you guys, thank you.
