McPherson expresses a “love–hate” view of Gayle King, admires Oprah Winfrey’s cultural influence from her youth, and criticizes Gayle King for perceived entitlements and a specific interview (Budweiser CEO during the Dylan Mulvaney controversy) that McPherson says sold journalistic integrity.

Like, I have. How do I feel about Gayle King? I have a love hate with her. Like, I love how I like that. Gayle King, 7, older woman, morning news. Love that about her. But there's just this entitlement that. That Gail and Oprah have that are starting to grade on me. And this is from someone who's loved Oprah. I mean, I am such a child of television. So an Oprah Winfrey was. That was just peak tv. And I just loved it. When I was training for my first marathon when Oprah was running it, like, that really was. It inspired me. Cause I really did. I thought, if Oprah Winfrey can do this. Now, granted, Molly, you're not worth millions. You don't have a trainer. You don't have any of that stuff. But and also, Oprah, with her content right now, like, she's all over menopause. And now she's all over my algorithm. Now she's talking about divorces, Gray divorce. Oprah Winfrey is such an algorithm. I don't want to use that word. It's too vulgar. But you know what I mean. Now that Andrew's a commoner, I think there will be more pressure for him to be investigated. I agree. Jared. I agree. There may also be shrinking of the royal family. There's so much shrinking already. There's been a lot of royals in Europe losing their titles to make institutions more streamlined. Yes. The algorithm has fed me a lot of this. A lot of this as well. Do we think? Do we think? I love that. We're going Gayle to Prince Andrew. You guys are all in my Molly brain. Welcome. Do we think Gayle, like Katy Perry, flew too close? I love that. Can we just say, if Gayle does leave, it deserves content from me? We'll talk about the highs and lows of Gayle's careers. I actually don't know what a career high would be for Gayle. Honestly, I don't know what I guess, you know? And I guess her career high is meeting Oprah Winfrey when she was working in Baltimore at the CBS affiliate, I think in Baltimore, actually, I'm not sure of the affiliate, but it was in Baltimore. Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, Maria Shriver. Talk about that triumvirate. I mean, look at those three. Power. But Gayle King. See, I still am not over the fact that Gayle King, when I was looking at the whole Budweiser debacle from a couple years ago. Remember Dylan Mulvaney, when Gayle King, CBS Morning, did an interview and invited the CEO of Budweiser at the main table and gave him, like, 25 minutes, just a spin. And to me, I thought, why don't you just, like, put the. Why don't you just put the ad money on the table? You have sold journalistic integrity for Budweiser to sit here and spend like that. And Gayle's sitting there like, oh, that's remarkable, what you're doing. So that's really where I lost a lot of respect for Gayle King.
