Seamus Mullen explains how fasting resets inflammation: within 36 hours metabolism shifts, and by 60 hours the immune system regenerates. He also describes the emotional reboot that happens when you stop eating, where cravings fade and your relationship with food becomes conscious and nourishing.
Through the power of fasting. What are we doing? Let's talk about what happens within the body and how did you see the correlation between fasting and your symptoms?
I mean the biggest thing is that it's the ultimate anti inflammatory diet because nearly everything that we eat can be inflammatory. It's incredible the things that happen when you're fasting. And within the first 36 hours our metabolic system shifts over when you get to like 60 hours, your immune system starts shifting over. Everything is regenerating within our body the minute that you give it a break. I think that part of this is also overlooked often when we talk about it in medical terms is our emotional relationship with food also shifts. And coming out of a fast, my desire for any food that is not really, really nourishing, it just goes away. And it's not like it's a challenge. But you know, rebooting that relationship with that emotional relationship with food, I think is, is not to be overlooked as one of the powerful benefits of fasting.
I think we're still in this process of unlearning the imprinting that happened in the 60s, 70s and 80s around. We need to eat, we need to normal to have three to six meals a day. Maybe some of it's backed by scar. I think a lot of it is backed by food cravings.
