I feel like nervous system regulation is coming onto the radar in terms of us understanding it. But I think for a lot of the emotions that you are describing, whether it's being emotional, having too much stress, or feeling that you're someone who just experiences a bit more anxiety, a lot of that is a learned way of being within our nervous system that we're not even aware of because it's all we've ever known.
And a lot of times it's related to your upbringing, right. And how your parents were involved or not involved in your life and how what you had to do and didn't have to do and your friends, and that's all a big part of it. And there's also this other huge piece which we were just alluding to, which your social media, your screen time, like these are big deal, right? This kind of light going into your eyes all the time from a screen is not a good idea. And so it's just the amount of anxiety, the amount of stress, I think is just. It's amazing. It's crazy. And. And so I'm. You know, one of the big things I always talk about with my patients is that if you want to heal, we have to figure out a way to get you more parasympathetic. If you don't get parasympathetic, you are not going to heal.
