Michael Breus explains that every activity has an optimal time based on your biology. Shifting when you do things, especially sleep rituals, makes them feel effortless instead of forced. A personalized schedule can automate healthy habits and actually let you rest.
There's a health ritual that you have that you just say, I can't do it. It's not for me. Maybe switch the time and see if it feels like more ease for you.
There is actually a perfect time of day to do absolutely every single activity you can think of. Literally everything you do, we can figure out the timing of it. And then it gets really interesting because once you kind of have that schedule set, it's kind of done for you.
That's it.
So there's very little stress, right? Because remember we were talking about stress and how does stress affect sleep? I think the biggest way that stress affects sleep is you didn't get the shit done during the day that you wanted to during the day. And you just keep pushing your bedtime, pushing your bedtime, pushing your bedtime. And you know sleep's not an on, off switch, right? It's more like slowly pulling your foot off the gas, slowly putting your foot on the brake. Like there's a process that should occur. I tell people all the time, like, if you fall asleep in under five minutes, that's bad. Yeah, that's bad. That means you're sleep deprived, you're too tired, you're too tired.
