Mona Sharma discusses what people misunderstand about psychedelic healing, focusing on chronic pain and how the mind and body work together to transform. The conversation explores the actual mechanisms behind these experiences rather than common misconceptions.
Mentioning that you live with this pain, that it saved your life? What was it about the experiences that you felt that allowed you to pull back? How did it save your life?
Accepting that I'm not broken. And if this is just what my life was supposed to be, while it's been challenging, there's been so much beauty in it. And in that moment, I would say the system that held the chronic pain, the chronic pain was alleviated, but the system was very much there. And this insight that came in was, the pain is gone, but now it's really on you to make sure that it doesn't come back. And there was this very clear sort of accountability.
Of like, it's incredible. And this is where I think the power of the mind and the body really come together. You can heal your body. Are you done with being sick? Are you done with identifying as somebody who's living with this chronic condition? And this title insert release. And then all of a sudden it's like, oh, my God, I'm my healer.
