Yoga's Resilience | Retraining Your Nervous System

In this segment Mona Sharma explains how a specific lineage of Sivananda yoga uses a deliberate sequence of holding a pose followed immediately by Savasana (deep relaxation). This alternating pattern trains the practitioner’s nervous system to experience stress (the pose) and then quickly return to a state of calm (Savasana), mirroring the fight‑or‑flight response and its resolution. By repeatedly cycling through tension and relaxation on the mat, the mind and body learn to navigate stressful moments without resistance, building resilience that can be carried into everyday life.
