Siggi Clavien explains why healthy people show elevated liver enzymes without drinking alcohol. Liver disease has surged 400% in 50 years as the body absorbs 100,000 to 150,000 synthetic chemicals through food, air, and microplastics. Standard blood tests often miss early liver dysfunction, leaving a major cause of burnout undetected.
Have I seen my clients come back with elevated liver enzymes, who don't drink, who are pretty healthy, they're exercising, they're practicing yoga and stuff like that? Why are we seeing the rise of liver issues today?
So it's. We're seeing this huge rise in why liver disease is up 400% in the last 50 years. If you put 100 to 150,000 chemicals and foreign synthetic substances into the human body through diet and breathing and foods and preservatives and insecticides and pesticides, I mean, then topically, right, we're getting toxins from deodorants and shampoo and parabens and microplastics and yada yada. It just goes on and on. The body has not adjusted to that. So the liver is being overwhelmed, it's being swamped, and it's just fighting this battle. And unfortunately, it's losing it. I mean, all the other diseases were kind of there with population growth and we're keeping under control. Liver disease is like an outlier. It looks. I mean, you look at a World Health Organization's chart and it's accelerating.
You had mentioned the environmental toxins, you'd mentioned emotions. And yet I find that a lot of doctors, if they assume that you're healthy, they're not really checking your liver. Or a lot of the times they're only looking for. Or, you know, alt AST is just like primary markers, right?
Probably one of the biggest misnomers people have, and that couldn't be further from the truth.
