This 68-year-old man is super interesting. He has more than 1 million cigarettes in his basement. He learned how to read at age 45. He was lost in the sea for 2 months. He went to jail. He was an alcoholic. And now he's picking up cigarette butts on the streets of his island. Why? Well, let me introduce you to the most interesting Guy I met in my travels. In the remote Galápagos Islands in Ecuador, I found Migicho. Hola, mi nombre es Migicho y no debo estar vivo. Migicho lost his mom to an earthquake three days after he was born, and because his father was so poor, he never went to school. But then a rich man promised his dad to school him in the Galápagos Islands. You know, the islands. that are surrounded by nothing, only to abandon him on a boat in the middle of the ocean. To survive, Migicho decided to become a fisherman, and he started to believe in life. But life was not done with him. At 35, while he was on his boat, his engine died, and he was left alone to survive in the middle of the ocean for 77 days. Then, once he got rescued back to Ecuador, he was to jail because he couldn't pay back his debts. And when he was released, he got depressed and became an alcoholic for 12 years. Many people would just give up on life at this point, but that's not what Migicu did. He turned his life around like magic. At age 52, he learned how to read by himself so he could train his He started eating healthy. He learned how to jog, how to bike, how to lift, so he could train his body. He became so strong that he ran a marathon at age 68. Y puedo correr 20 kilómetros. That's crazy! And he didn't stop there. Migichu fell in love with nature and wanted to clean his island. So he started collecting cigarette butts on the streets every day. Realicé esta labor por la muerte de mi madre el 5 de agosto. After five years, he collected one million cigarette butts, and he turned them into works of art that look like this. These sculptures made him famous on his tiny island and around the world. And thousands of tourists like me are inspired by what this guy has become. At age 52, this guy started living. It goes to show it's never too late to turn your life around and inspire the world. Migicu started at age 52, but maybe you can start right now.
Before we continue, I need to show you something cool from the sponsor of this video, Genspark. Everyone now is telling me to use Use AI, AI, AI. And I do use AI, but there are so many different tools and getting them to work together is just exhausting. But then a friend from Silicon Valley showed me this AI agent, Genspark. It's an all-in-one AI workspace. Let's say I'm launching a new service. First, I use Second Brain plus Super Agent. I ask, look through my recent emails, meetings, and Slack messages, identify the clients most likely to need this new service, explain why, and create a simple outreach plan. Now I know who to talk to and what to show. So I go straight to Genmail and use Email Skills because it can do cold outreach research, bulk replies, and batch handle my inbox. And now I need something to send with the email. So I go to Design to create a launch kit for this new service. I give it my brand assets, a reference image, and it can create a UI prototype, a poster, an HTML animation, and even a product demo video. Research becomes outreach, outreach becomes a pitch, and it all happened in one workspace. So if you want to try it yourself, use the Genspark link in the description below. When you register through the link, you also get free credits to try it out. Let me know in the comments if you need the prompt and setup guide. Okay, now back to the video. This chef has not eaten in 8 years. Every day she cooks food But she does not eat it because this is her food. Who is she? Why doesn't she eat? And how can she survive without eating? Meet Loretta.
Hi, Naz Daily. I'm Loretta, aka the Nilgama Foodie.
Loretta grew up in England and she had a pretty normal childhood. Sometimes she had stomach problems, but she still ate food like most people. In fact, She loved food so much, she even became a chef. Until one day, when this happened.
And then when I was 18, I woke up in unbelievable pain every time I ate.
It took doctors years to figure out what was wrong with her. They kept telling her to change her diet, so she ate this and ate that, but nothing worked. It was a mystery, and she. And then her life changed forever.
I found out in 2015 that I was unable to eat like a normal person.
She has Ehlers-Danlos, a rare syndrome that causes gastroparesis, and basically it means she has a paralyzed stomach. See, when we eat food, our body activates the stomach to digest it, but for Loretta, it doesn't do that. It does not activate and the food does not digest. This is called gastroparesis. This is very painful, and it means I cannot eat or drink anything. No food, no drink, not even water. How does she survive without food and water?
Instead of eating food, I use this bag. This tube goes into my heart, and then nutrients are fed into my bloodstream.
She uses this bag for 18 hours a day, every single day. It's filled with a liquid that gives her everything she needs every day, like proteins, Carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, and electrolytes. This bag saves Loretta's life, but it also means technically she never has to cook ever again. She could quit being a chef, but cooking is her passion, and she didn't want to stop.
Just because I can't eat doesn't mean I can't cook.
So she just kept cooking. Now I know what you're thinking. How does she cook if she can't taste the food? Well, turns out she cooks with her nose.
The way I cook now is by utilizing my knowledge, skills, and intuition, and definitely smell, to be able to still create delicious recipes. At the end of cooking, I always get family and friends to taste the foods to make sure the balance of flavors are right and it's ready to eat. Good.
Lorena has a positive attitude about her condition. But still, her life is not easy. At this time, there is no cure. Sometimes she even has to use a wheelchair, and she gets many infections from changing her tube. But she is determined not to give up and to keep sharing her story.
Remember, your current situation isn't your final destination.
We should never let obstacles get in the way of our passions. Thank you, Loretta, for sharing your story. And to everyone watching, share this video with someone who needs a reminder to never give up.
The guy you see next to me does not wear shoes for the last 10 years. Dude, what are you doing? Hi, Naslieli. My name is Gobin, and this is my 10 years without wearing shoes. He walks on snow, desert, sand, and asphalt completely barefoot. He flies barefoot. He goes to restaurants barefoot. And if they force him to wear shoes, he wears this. Go barefoot to raise money for underprivileged kids in Indonesia. So he wanted to support them and decided to never wear shoes again until there are no more underprivileged kids in Indonesia. So far, the movement raised $1 million You look at him and you think he's just a hippie, but now that you know his story, he may be a hero. That's 1 minute. See you tomorrow!
