I interviewed 500 people last year, and this is the number one interview question that many people fail, and it's not even about the job. The question is this: If you woke up today with $100 million in your bank account, you are rich, you don't need money or a job, what will you do in that day? Describe to me your perfect day from the minute you wake up to the minute you go to sleep. Sounds easy, right? It's not. I stole this question from my friend Scott because it's so powerful. It tells you exactly what this person enjoys in life. If their perfect day is making music when they get $100 million, then you do not want them to be an engineer in your company. Both of you will be unfulfilled. The point of a job in my company or any company is to push you closer to your perfect day and and give you money in that process. See you next week.
