How to make a Bellami Wig look more realistic | Natalie Nicole

Natalie Barnes unboxes a Bellami Kiara wig and shows how to make it look realistic by trimming the lace, thinning the front with an eyebrow razor, and matting down shine with dry shampoo. She works piece by piece, careful not to damage the hair tracks, and adds baby hairs for a natural frame.

Hi guys, what's up? It's Natalie. Welcome to, welcome back to my channel. If you guys are new, hi, my name is Natalie Barnes. I post once a week, or at least I try to, and let's be friends and hit that subscribe button. Okay, so today is really exciting. You guys know I love wigs. I wear them every single day. This is a wig, and I got a new wig, and it's from Bellamy's. A couple months ago, I did a video about all my wigs from Bellamy, and a couple people said that Bellamy shipped me the wigs. That's so not true. I pay for the wigs with my own money. Um, I'm not getting paid to say any of this, or I'm not like sent any of these wigs. Like, seriously do love Bellamy and what they stand for, and the quality of their wigs is just amazing. So today I'm gonna be unboxing this, unpackaging it. I kind of already did just to make sure it was like right. I'm gonna show you guys how I cut my wig and how I make it look more realistic. So yeah, without further ado, let's just get on with the video. When you get your wig, it comes with the Bellamy silk bag to keep your wig in, and then it comes in with like an instruction. It just says like how to take care of the wig, yada yada yada. I got the Kiara, Kiara Kiara/Kiara wig. I don't really know how to say it, but I'll put the picture like right here. Okay, I'm gonna take off this. If you guys haven't seen my video on, on how I cut this wig, I'll leave it down below. This is a Kiara wig, Kiara, um, and I cut it into like a long bob. So definitely go check that video out. Okay, so the first thing I want to do— wow, I look really weird— is attach this, this strap onto the wig. Because it does help and it makes the wig like very sturdy too. And there's like little tiny— it looks like, like a bra strap almost, and you just connect it. Okay, then I'm just gonna put it on like normal. Obviously you're gonna want to pull that back. We're gonna fix it. It's literally fine. So I'm gonna brush it out. Oh, so long. Using my Bellamy hairbrush. I swear this isn't sponsored. She— it goes down so long and it's like wavy. It's not like perfectly straight. It's kind of wavy. Okay, I'll show you guys how far it comes down. Comes down to like here, but obviously we need to cut. I don't want to lose any of the length. I just want to basically get the lace off right here, and then I'm gonna pluck this a little bit and then make this more realistic because no one's hair right here is this long. First step is to cut the lace. I'm going to actually pin this back so I can see basically what I'm doing. I'm gonna do one little tiny line right here, and then I'm going to do another one right here. I don't want to cut my real hair. Another one here. Okay, now I'm gonna take it off and then cut it. I don't know if you guys can see this, but this is basically where I made the cuts so I know not to go too far, and I know exactly like where it lays on my head. I just like to do this. Obviously you don't have to do it. I like to do little tiny cuts, that way if I mess up, like, it's not a big deal. Um, I know other people like to just like rip the whole thing off, and I'm like, you're crazy. I don't like to do that. I like to go piece by piece. Okay, so one side is done. Now for the other side. You have to be careful because this is like where the tracks lay, um, and you don't want to cut too close to them or else it'll start like falling apart. I did that to my other wig and didn't start falling apart, but it started losing the hair a little bit. Now the last piece by the forehead. Got it. Now for the center part, I like to like kinda— so now I like to put it back on my head and try it on. So this is normally where I would lay it down on my head. Um, it's like right at my actual root where my hair actually starts. Okay, so now that I did the lace Good. I'm gonna brush her one more time. Okay, so now is basically the fun part, I like to say. Okay, so what I like to do now is to make it more realistic is I take a comb and I will go very, very close, basically like do a line. So this is our starting line. This isn't what we're cutting at all. This is basically just the starting line. So what I'll do now is go again. Let me see how much this is. So this is a lot, so I'm gonna draw another line to make it thinner right along the lace. So you're gonna want— this much is the goal. Um, not too much, not too little. And just enough, basically. I don't do baby hairs. A lot of people do. I don't. I don't think they look good on me. But what I do is I take this eyebrow shaper razor. I got this at Forever 21. I want to say it was like $9, $10. Not really sure. It came in like a pack of 3, and this is my holy grail. Like, I use this to do everything. So that's what I'm gonna do right now. So what I do is take a little tiny piece like this. And I'm just going to razor it off. So that looks crazy, I know, it looks dead-ish. You brush it out and then it goes back to normal. So I'm gonna do this all along here, 'cause no one has thick hair all around your face. Just so unrealistic, but once you do this, it looks a lot, lot better. Okay, so that's pretty good for right now. So I'm gonna let this down and do it again. I'm gonna take the comb, make a line. Good. And then pin this back. So we're gonna brush it out once again. Get all the knots out. Take the little eyebrow razor and just cut. I pull it down too when I cut, so it'll go like from shortest and the longest, just like that. I'm gonna do it again. It's basically just framing the face. Um, Really all it is. It doesn't look like I'm doing a lot, but you're gonna be able to tell this, this side compared to this side, like how much I'm actually doing. And you really want to take your time on this part because the more you do, you're gonna like either mess up— like if you go really, really fast and just like start hacking it away, like you don't want to do that because you're gonna end up with really botched hair, um, which is not cute. So now I'm just kind of taking my finger and doing it. Putting some back and then going back in, seeing what I need to do. I mainly focus right here because no one, like I said, has this long of hair in the front of your forehead. So with wigs, they come basically perfect and You want your wig to look as realistic as possible. You don't want people to be like, "Oh, are you wearing a wig?" Just want it to look pretty normal. So I'm gonna do one more side. And why I like the razor is because it makes it look more realistic, more kind of damaged. Good, good. So you guys can see it's like goes this, this side just goes long. I'm gonna put it down, see if I need to do any more. Let's brush it out a little bit. Let's do some more right here. For me, I like having some hair right here a lot shorter because when I put my hair like in a ponytail or like kind of like a low bun, it makes it look so realistic. So much better already. So even when you do pin it back like this, it'll look so much more realistic because you don't have like huge hunks of hair falling down in your face. Okay, so this is just with the razor. This is this side, and then this is this side. As you guys can see, like, this side is more volume, has way more volume, and just looks so much more realistic. This side's just falling in my face. So yeah, that's basically the difference. This has just more volume and more pieces, more like back. This side's just falling down my face. I'm gonna do the same thing I did on this side to this side. So I really fast took my wig off and looked at it to see if I need plucking, and honestly, I really don't. You guys can see up here, um, it looks pretty realistic to me. Yeah, it looks pretty realistic, I'm not gonna lie. What I do like to do though is put dry shampoo at the top of my head so it doesn't look as shiny. I do this with all my wigs. I'm using this, um, Super Dry Shampoo. I just got this sent to me in the mail and I'm really liking it and it smells really good too. Okay, it's pretty good. So that took away most of the shine. Um, I really don't care if the ends are, um, shiny. Like, I really don't care about that. It's just the top I really don't want shiny. I just like to like pull it just to make it not as flat because it has been sitting in a bag. This is what I mean by the baby hairs. Like, look how good that one looks. My version of baby hairs, basically, just to like frame the face. So if you did want to wear it like that, or however you want to wear it, it won't look crazy. It's really all I do. I'm not even going to straighten it because I like the natural curl it has, like the waviness it has. Um, oh my God, I'm literally obsessed. This is so cute. And like, if you see any hair that you do want to cut more of, like, you should— you shouldn't be afraid to like try new things and like cut it and then Obviously, if it looks horrible, you can just buy another wig. Like, it's not the end of the world. Each wig is completely different. Um, but this is basically what I do to all my wigs to make them look a little more realistic. If you found this video helpful, don't forget to give me a big thumbs up. It helps me a lot. I hope you guys like this video. I hope it helped you, um, if you're just now buying a wig and you're new to wigs. I personally love wigs. I have, I think, about 7 now. Um, yeah, I, I just love wigs.
