Natalie Barnes uses Foxy Locks clip-in extensions and a NuMe wand to create beachy waves, curling each section for 5-10 seconds and alternating directions to avoid a uniform look. She pulls the curls apart after to get that messy, mermaid texture.

Hey guys, what's up? It's Natalie Barnes. Welcome to or welcome back to my channel. Today I'm doing a beachy wavy hair using my hair extensions. So I jumped onto Twitter and I asked you guys if I should curl my hair or straighten my hair, what kind of videos you guys wanted to see, and you guys said curl. I get my hair from Foxy Locks. Hair extensions. I will definitely leave a link down below where the website is and what kind I have, so definitely go check that out. If you are new here, welcome, welcome to my channel. My name is Natalie Barnes. I make hair videos, makeup videos, travel videos. Without further ado, let's just jump into the video. Okay, so like, as you can see, my hair is super, super short. I have the Foxy Locs hair extensions in my hand. I want to say I have the Latte Blonde. I could be totally wrong. I did do a video about these hair extensions like a year ago on I'll link the video down below. 8 pieces of hair, super, super thick from the top to the bottom. And my hair is super, super thin. Um, I've dyed it so many times. My hair color is very, very dark. So if you want to learn how to clip in hair extensions, I'll put my video that I did like a year ago below because nothing really changed. I clip in my hair extensions exactly the same. Works for me. So yeah. Okay, so now that all my hair extensions are put in my head, it literally took me like 4 minutes, maybe even 3. But what I do is I curl all my hair, I put my hair extensions in, and then I curl my hair. I think it's way easier to do it this way. I do one side at a time too. Um, I find that like I get every single strand if I just do like one side and then I go on to the next side. So I have my NuMe— this is a half-inch barrel, but I use this like every single time I curl my hair. I swear by this, it's like the best wand ever. I'll link down below where I got this wand. Okay, so I like to work front to back, so I take my front piece right here. It's like a little tiny bit. I do halfway, so like right about here I'll curl, and I do this away from my face only because I like my face very framed. I hold it there for like— I hold it there for like 10 seconds. And then I just do the same, take this piece. This is more like the second to front piece, you know what I mean? And I do that away from my face also, and then release, and then throw back. I'm very, very messy with how I do this, so now I'll go inward because I like my curls very messy, not structured, kind of like effortless. And some pieces like I'll go higher with, like right here I'll do this one kind of high. But like I said, I'm very, very messy on how I curl my hair. I feel like it just looks more— you don't care almost. But yeah, I do piece by piece, section by section. But these are definitely beachy waves, beachy curls really, because they're curls. And then usually when it gets to like here, um, I make sure to see like which hair lays closest to like my middle of my chest because since I do have hair extensions and my hair is very short, I have to have this piece going outwards, um, so my hair extensions blend. Whenever I watch videos with hair extensions and people curl, I feel like no one ever says that, but they all do it. So I like to just put this one— see how that one like curls outward? Now since I did 2 pieces curling outward, I'll do 2 pieces curling in. Oh, that was a good one. So now you can see that this side is fully curled and this side isn't. Now what I like to do on this side is I like to take some top pieces where my hair is a lot shorter and I curl them either outwards or in, but I don't like to go all the way to the top. I don't want Shirley Temple curls. And I hold that there for like 5 seconds, if that. I like to do this because it just like looks So much better. Since I do have a lot of short hair at the top, um, I blend these on its own just because I don't like as much heat as I put on my hair extensions, if that makes sense. Put this on for like 4 seconds, but for my hair extensions, since they're like a lot thicker, I do it for longer. I'm gonna do this one really, really fast. So now that that side is all curled and this side is all curled, I'm gonna do my top piece up here just so they blend in a little bit more. Okay, now what I'm gonna do is I'm going to pick apart each little curl. Like, if it's perfect like this, I like to pull it apart. That makes sense. So like this curl, I like to pull it apart. This is totally optional, by the way, but it's just something I like to do to get the beachy wave effect to make my hair look way more full. So look at this side and then look at this side. And then now I'm gonna do this side. Super easy, you just take a curl and then just pull it completely opposite ways of each other. It like separates completely. And if you want to curl these pieces more, that's definitely like, you can definitely do that. That is how I get my mermaid type beachy wave hair. I hope you guys like this video. Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe, and definitely go check out my Twitter. Once again, I do polls so much on my Twitter asking you guys what you guys want to see, and you guys can definitely vote.
