In this vlog, Nate Ritter (Speaker A) and his partner Tilia walk viewers through the hectic final weeks before their family transitions to full‑time RV living. After a six‑week road trip, they spend days packing, sorting, and deciding what to keep, sell, or donate. They load donations into a truck for Goodwill, organize a tiny 5 × 5 storage unit for overflow, and tackle practical tasks like defrosting the freezer. The family discusses the emotional weight of downsizing, with Tilia processing feelings as she works while Nate tends to postpone emotional processing until the last moment. Their children, Everly and Asher, interrupt the packing, help sort Legos, and play with baseball cards, adding both chaos and joy. The vlog culminates on a Saturday morning when they prepare to pick up the RV rig, sign paperwork, and begin loading their belongings, marking a pivotal moment of commitment to the new nomadic lifestyle.

I kept hearing this rock in the tire. Nope, that's not a rock. That stinks. No idea how much that's going to cost. So after our like 6-week trip, we've been home for 5 days. Yeah, so it's just been a whirlwind of trying to like pack, pack stuff up, trying to organize, figure out like what is the next thing that we need to do. And that's, I think, been the hardest thing is, what do we do next?
So we filled up the back of the truck, a bunch of donations, and we're taking it to Goodwill.
You ready? We'll take trick-or-treat. Yeah, we're competing with your laziest costume ever.
What are you gonna do with the candy, Everly? Are you gonna hand it out to people? Where's the people? Where are the people? Oh, you got your candy! We are only 3 weeks out from moving into the trailer, and I have so much to do. I have so much stuff to pack. And sell and donate, and it's a lot. It's a little bit overwhelming. It takes more work than I thought it would to get rid of things. I thought it would be really easy. It's easy for me to make the choice to get rid of it, but the actual getting rid of it, like getting it to the donation center or putting it in boxes or whatever, it's just taking a lot of work. So a lot more time than I thought. But we're getting there. Uh, the house is totally destroyed. It is hard work, but we're excited to get on with this adventure and moving into our rig and getting settled. So I know it's not always going to be wonderful and it's going to be hard, but we are created for hard things. So I'm excited The whole family is excited for the challenge of what is ahead of us. I have been packing all day today and going through all my clothes, donating stuff, getting rid of stuff, and I'm working really hard at it. And all my work is becoming undone by my kids.
Hi, Mom!
You're so pretty, you guys. My belt fell down. So all the work that I just did is all undone and I have to redo it again.
So we don't actually have that much stuff in our garage, it's just that it's all come off the shelves now. So, uh, so now we have— we still have to defrost the freezer and sell that, and then we have a whole like section of stuff we're selling, or yeah, we're selling to either friends or people online or whatever. Garbage. Uh, we have stuff that's going to the rig over there by the bikes, and then stuff that's gonna get donated right here. Hopefully wrap this up today or tomorrow and go get a storage unit. On Friday we go and get the rig and set it up, and then we start moving everything into it. Well, I'm just playing with my baseball cards, Mom. I'm way too many baseball cards. All right, so I'm cleaning the closet and I am super excited about this bit. Check this out. That's where all my formal stuff was and now it's down there all getting ready to be donated. I'm free. All right, I think we're done. We've, uh, successfully created lots of piles, so All this has to go to Goodwill, and that's what we're doing this morning. So today we're doing— I'm gonna go get a storage unit, which we figured we think we can get away with like just a 5x5. It's really tiny, like it's smaller than a closet in some cases. That's it. All our stuff fits into a 5x5. In fact, I probably could have done Probably could have done half that space. I'm actually even— I'm more bummed that we actually even have to have a storage unit. I hate paying for storage, like just storing stuff. I'm happy with this. This is fine. That's it. I'm going back and doing a Goodwill run now.
We're right now sorting out all of our Legos, and so I went and grabbed some, uh, sandwich baggies so then we can store some of our Legos in them. That's Asher's with all his guys and weapons. So many guys. And then here's my guys with all my weapons. What's Everly doing? I think she's helping with all of her special pieces. That's all your special pieces. Oh yes, it is.
Good morning! Saturday morning. Saturday. It's Saturday morning. Saturday morning. And, uh, big day. I went to sleep pretty, pretty, you know, easily, I guess. I didn't really think too much about it, but I woke up and I immediately was thinking, uh, this is a, this is a big day. I hadn't really thought about all the, I don't know, the emotions and stuff like that. Um, I was checking in with Tilia quite a bit about it all, and over the course of the last month or so as we've been home, she's been great. She's processed— she kind of processes her emotions, um, while she does things, and I don't. I I just kind of sit on it and wait till the very last second. So this is the very last second. Today we're going to pick up the rig and start loading everything into it. That's kind of like a, you know, it's a moment. It's a moment where, you know, you're signing documents and you're saying like, okay, I'm not gonna do this anymore and things change. Yeah. So I'm gonna take the drive and I'm gonna go pick up the rig and bring it back. And we'll go from there. I forgot my coffee. Thank you. Yes, thank you.
Bye.
All right, go.
Otherwise, when you hit record, it's like so uncomfortable. We're like, what do we say?
