RVing full time with kids → How it all began (Family Travel Vlog)

A family bought a fifth-wheel trailer and truck to test full-time RVing. They're driving from San Diego to Colorado to visit Speaker A's parents, then Missouri to see Nate's dad, with stops at a Harvest Host winery in Kansas and a celebration of Kai's 8th birthday along the way.

If you have been watching our videos, you know a couple months ago we bought a fifth wheel travel trailer and a truck. But what you probably didn't know is that we actually bought it with the intention of living in it full-time. We really love to travel, and because of the pandemic, uh, we're really uncertain about how to travel right now, especially as a family. So we decided to buy a travel trailer and travel our own country. It's a perfect opportunity for us to do that. Before heading out and living in the RV full-time, we need a little bit of a crash course so to speak. So we're going out on a 6-week trip to see how all this works. What do we need? How do we organize? How is this actually gonna work? I have a feeling that Amazon will be visiting our doorstep a lot. Lots of visions of boxes and things we absolutely will have to have. So, uh, we will be celebrating Kai's 8th birthday in about a week here, and then we will be leaving on our trip. Super excited. Excited, a little bit nervous. I know we can do this. It's gonna be really fun and interesting to see how all of this pans out.
Happy birthday, Pirate Calissa!
Happy birthday to you!
Woohoo! What is it?
My very first knife? Uh-huh. It's like a pocket knife.
Oh my gosh! I got my first knife! Can you give me high five? Yeah, good job.
Okay, you guys, tomorrow is the day we are setting out on this 6-week adventure. Hopefully it turns out well. I've got everything packed up in the trailer. I think I've got everything packed up in the trailer. I think I have it all organized. Nate has ProPainting's full. He's got the truck tires and the trailer tires all ready to go, and we're leaving in the morning. We are driving from San Diego to Colorado to go visit my parents, and then after that we will be heading to Missouri to go visit Nate's dad and stepmom. I think everything's ready.
Let's go!
Got this grand arch and we're gonna go play on a gravel pit— gravel pile.
Hi. Spin him, spin him! Papa?
Where is he? Is he right there?
Hi, everybody.
Who is that? We have been at my parents' house for the past couple days, spending time with them and playing at the beautiful parks here. Um, Colorado is such a gorgeous state, but tomorrow we are leaving bright and early, which means probably like 9 or 10. Is that still bright and early? We will be leaving for Nate's dad's house. He lives in Missouri.
Missouri.
So quite a trek. I think it's going to take us 2 or 3 days to get there. We will stay at a Harvest Host tomorrow night. It's our very first one, and I've heard great things about Harvest Hosts, so we're looking forward to our first experience. Um, it's a winery in Kansas though, so I'm sure it's amazing, but I just had no idea that there was wineries in the middle of Kansas. So I'll keep you posted. Where's Everly?
Caught in the wild, two young city boys approaching a Kansas donkey. They go for it. He has the upper hand.
He's haunting us.
Who are those guys?
What are you doing?
No, what's he doing?
What is rattling?
Oh, everything.
Well, if it wasn't secured down or broken, it is now broken in the trailer.
Oh my gosh.
Oh, we're going to do video instead.
Do your hair shirt.
It's all right. Okay, now we got to bring our logs and sticks to the truck.
Oh no, traffic jam. To kind of figure out exactly what we're going to need before moving into it. Did I just say that?
Aah!
