We invented a game for quarantine

Nate Ritter shows a tabletop game he made during quarantine using LEGO minifigures, a whiteboard, and paper. Each player's six figures get attack and defense numbers 1-6, with 1 beating 6. You win by being the last player with surviving pieces, and each player gets one double attack and one revival.

So in the middle of the game, I figured out that I had only had 5 numbers instead of 6 numbers, so I screwed up the whole game. But we played it, but we played anyway because these guys are nice. Okay, so it's quarantine day like 60 or 70 or 80 or something. I don't know, we've all lost count. We've come up with a new game. Temporary name is Triple Attack. I'll explain, I'll explain as we play how this all works. It's really hard. It's really hard. And it's fun. Yes, we all really like it. I was the referee and I decided that I wanted to play the game. All you need per player is 6 LEGO minifigures, 1 whiteboard, 1 dry erase pen. You can obviously substitute for you know, other things like cars or something fun for the kids. And then a piece of paper and a pen or pencil will do just fine. Alright, now here's the rules. First of all, each toy gets 2 numbers. They get an attacking number and they get a defending number, so a sword number or a shield number if you like that. So you'll number them 1 to 6, and then the defending 1 to 6 also. Also. So you can't have— they have to be unique. So you can't have, for instance, 2 6s in your attacking row or 2 6s in your defending row or something like that. You get 1 double attack once per game. A double attack is when you take 2 of your toys and combine them together. And so you take the attacking numbers of each, add them together, and you take that and go up against your def— the person that you're attacking or the guy you're attacking, their defending number. You have a special, which we put a star next to, and that one you get to revive after they die one time. You can revive them any time, but you only get to do it once. If your attacking number is a 6 and their defending number is a 5, then, um, you know, if the attack number is greater than the defend number, then that defender is killed. 6 is obviously greater than 5, 5 is greater than 4, 4 is greater than 3, 3 is greater than 2, 2 is greater than 1, and the caveat is the 1 is better than the 6. So only those with an attacking number of 1 will kill those with a defending number of 6. So the attacker might have a 3 and the defender might have a 4 or 5 or 6, and the defender might say, "Well, nope, nothing happened to me, I'm safe." and in that case they don't tell what their number was, which keeps it a bit of a secret and makes it a little bit more interesting. One of the other things is we don't tell what our special character is. They can all die, or you can have one die and then come back at any point in time. But just remember, you only get that special power for that one time. So here's the setup: each person has 6 guys. 6 Legos. The corresponding number goes to it. So this is— this guy is the— he attacks with a 6, but he defends with a 5. Let's say that Kai's Spider-Man guy is 6 attacking, and he comes over and he attacks my little kid guy, and my kid guy has a 5 for defense. Then he— my kid guy dies. And so that wins. If it's a tie, then nothing happens. One time per game we have our double attack where we can take two of our guys. So let's say I took these two guys and put them together, so then you add it up, so 3 1 is 4, and I could go and attack and kill any of the other, the other team members. I could attack any of their guys who has a 3 or less on their defensive row. That's your double attack. You get that once per game. And then the star is your guy who gets to come back to life once in the game. Obviously the game here is have the last guy standing. Let's play! So in the middle of the game, I figured out that I had only had 5 numbers instead of 6 numbers, so I screwed up the whole game. But we played it, but we played anyway because these guys are nice. And what happened at the end? We died. So all of our 6 guys, uh, stayed— our 6 shields stayed, and we ended up in a tie all the way around. So kind of, kind of fun. But that's how you play the game. Rules are changing by the minute. So that's what we've got so far. So hopefully, uh, if you guys want to play, go for it, play it, it'll be fun. It's really fun. This is, um, Panda Kitty. Panda Kitty. It's Unikitty with the head removed and put a panda on it. So I wanted to show A little thing that hits me. What's it called again? Uh, triple, triple Lego, triple— what do we— had a name for it. I don't know, we'll have to look back on our own video to come up with it. Triple battle. Triple battle. Okay, that's a new name.
