Building New Athletes No.1

A manifesto for rethinking athleticism beyond traditional sports. The speaker argues current athletic paradigms are narrow and declining, then outlines a new framework built on health, skills, and force, drawing from parkour, circus arts, weightlifting, and traditional practices. He invites people to join retreats in Montenegro, Vanuatu, and Baltimore, and calls for community members to share tutorials and build the network.

Welcome to New Athlete Project. We're here to rewrite mankind's athletic future. The path that we're on. We have to assume that we're in the Dark ages. This is as bad as it's ever been physically for mankind. Even in the elite levels of sport, the best athletes are unknown. They're parkour athletes, they're circus performers. Those who play ball sports are restricted and they're playing inside of a narrow narrative of what it is to be a excellent in that sport. But so much of what a human is capable of is outside of the band of what's required for that sport. And so the highest paid athletes in the world today are circus performers in the old sense of bread and circus that keep the masses within the rules. And that's what these ball games are about, keeping the masses within the rules. And the combat games and all the games, the best athletes are doing parkour and they're in circus. But even within those paradigms, we're missing so much because it becomes its own game. If you're a circus performer and you're in Cirque du Soleil, where you play a certain role and you stick within that role, we're here to expand and fully express ourselves. If you look around in nature, that's what every living being is doing. It's expanding and fully expressing itself. What it has capacity to express into the world. It does. And so for humans, we have that innate thing within us to fully express ourselves, and that carries over to athleticism as well. We're here to fully express ourselves athletically, and there's not currently a paradigm for that. And it's been something that's niggling at my conscious. And I know that if it's in me, that it's in you and it's in all of us because we're all connected to each other, there's something better that we have to be doing athletically as well as in many other areas of life. And the truth has been obscured from us. We're in a very dark time in many ways. Athletically, you see the decline of the average person, the average athlete. We needed something about that. So what would a new paradigm in performance look like? What would next level athleticism look like? That's what the paradigm is. Health skills and force. Often when we think of athleticism, we think of strength and conditioning or we think of a soccer player. It's this narrow band that's restricting us from fully expressing ourselves. So regardless, if you love those sports and if you want to go to the Top in one of those sports. I respect that. The way that I can get you to the top and go further with that is to introduce you to the best in other areas. It doesn't make any sense that you wouldn't look as a soccer player into those who have the best control of the hips and the best control of their ankles and the most explosive ankles and the best spatial awareness and the best ability to be dexterous and control the ball. Professional players are slowly moving towards these standards without actually going to the source of the information. So that's what the opportunity is within your athlete is look at. Okay, well, the. Who are the athletes who produce the most force fastest? Now in terms of accelerating something, the best athletes are weightlifters and field sport athletes, hammer throwers, shot putters, javelin throwers, depending on the weight and the speed that we're looking for. And so if a rugby player was to be able to incorporate more of that into what they do, which is kind of what's happened with strength and conditioning, but we lost contact with the source of the information and therefore we lose the nuance. We have to look at what the very, very best did and then take the very, very best, some of that into other sports. And that's where we open up new possibility for excellence. Now, however you see the world and however you want to express excellence, I'm here to support you with that. I'm not here to tell you that there's one way of doing this, the opposite is true. We need to look at every system that's been effective, every ancient sport, every tradition, every. And think how can that apply to my dream, my goals, my vision? And that's how we're going to have the best outcomes in terms of learning. That's how we're going to have the best outcomes in terms of business. For those of you who are making money as coaches and doing what I believe is some of the most important work in the world today, either be a farmer and produce amazing quality organic food from the best soils and teach others how to do that. And that's how you heal people. Be a traditional medicine man in the art of medicine, not the modern style, or show people how to use their bodies again, these are the beautiful jobs that we need to do. Most of this technology stuff and revering those who are playing most with the computers doesn't make any sense. That's not where quality of life comes from. Quality of life is going down. Quality of mental health and mental performance is going down and down. The more we meddle ourselves in technology and understand the irony of doing that through an app and talking about that in this way. But this is how we start. The commitment in New Athlete Project is to get face to face with other athletes, get in the same room, train together, come to Montenegro, to Vanuatu, to Baltimore, be in the environment of what athletic expansion looks like. You can't find that in professional sports. You can't find that with traditional strength and conditioning or strength kind of coaches. Even within something like Parkour, which started as something very expansive, there's a dogma where if you turn up with juggling balls, you're going to be the odd one out. If you turn up with a rope, if you didn't want to be doing something different. There is no outside of New Athlete Project when it comes to movement. Everything is inside the paradigm. Everything is accepted, everything is welcome. Everything is an opportunity for you to be excellent and then invite others to that excellence as well. The most expanded coaches, the most capable coaches. We've got health, we've got skills, we've got force. The further you go with each of these areas, the more capable you are to help those around you, to support your family, to turn this into a business, if that's what you want to do, to excel in your sport. The assumption that we're in the dark ages isn't a negative thing. It's an opportunity. If you think we're at the top, then you're looking for microscopic improvements. For me, we're at the bottom. We're at the very bottom. It couldn't be much worse than this. What's going on in professional sports? What's going on at the school level of performance? What's going on as people age? We're at the very bottom. What would exceptionally much, much better than that look like? Just because we're better than what we know of history of 50 years ago, the times have improved a lot of times. The technology has improved as well. But there are definitely some specific improvements inside those specific bandwidths. That's fine. What we're looking for is what would much better than that require of us? What would it take to get to that much higher level? So go through the book, get into the leaderboards, express yourself. This is an invitation for you to share your truth. Share your athletic truth. Put a tutorial together for brothers to understand. Write the outline of your book with one or two sentences about each chapter and help us understand your paradigm in performance. What is it that you value if you're not up to that? If you don't have something big to share yet. Dive in, explore what I've got to share, explore the resources of how I got to where I got to and then go and listen to other coaches who are already getting amazing results. There is no one way to get to the top, and there is no top. This is an infinite game. You can't get to a point where it's like, I can't get any better. Of course you can get better because you can go and specialize a little bit more in that and then you're definitely going to get better in that, but then maybe you lose a fraction in some other area. There's no end to this. But the fun is in understanding how to expand, how to make a much bigger game out of what we're doing. So welcome. Set up your profile fully. Get your story clear into the group, get into the learning, read the book. And there's a beautiful journey here that begins with you being more athletic. And the sooner you meet up in person with someone else from the network, the sooner this is all going to make sense to you. And you're really going to make this a very joyful and important part of your future, your family and your vision for what you can become and how your future can become a much brighter version than what it would otherwise be. That's what we're here for. Welcome.
