Nicolas De Paoli discusses his move from Bali to Switzerland ahead of becoming a father, and his Bali Time Chamber retreat for men focused on community, fitness, and creative work. He shares why men should test their dreams early and make intentional life choices rather than drifting.
Chapters
Nico, we're live.
Nice. Welcome, everyone.
So we had some more adventures recently. Nico, I think you. You shared a little bit about it on your ig and you shared in French, but I'm sure everyone's curious what you're up to at the moment.
Yeah, yeah, I've shared a bit in France in French, but basically I moved to Switzerland for the one who don't know. Like, I was living in Bali for the last four years and I recently moved to Switzerland for many reasons. The main one being that I'm gonna become a dad pretty soon. So it was the. The right choice for me to make to closer to the family, to European culture and everything. So it was a. A big move and it was a great choice. Really happy to. To be here for a lot of things that maybe we're going to discuss during this video.
Yeah. What is, what's it like? You. You people are used to the culture shock maybe of going to Bali and you got used to living there. The chaos, the noise, the. The things in the way that they are. But then when you live there for so long, it's a shock as well when you come back. Like, what do you. What did you.
Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Yeah, it's fun because I, I left pretty young, so I was really happy and excited about the life in body because it just offers so much more opportunities. You're just driving scooters all day, you feel really free, not so much rules. So, yeah, it's a great experience, but at some point. So as you get older, I'm not really old, but like as you, you get more serious and like your goals are different. You want also a different kind of life, especially having. Having a child. So then the things that were the. The good part becomes like kind of the. The parts you don't want anymore. So you want a bit more control in your life. You want things to be cleaner. So. So yeah, it's a completely different perspective. But I love both. Like I say, usually I have to have. I like to have one foot in each part. It's like one in the system when it's more like European, a lot of rules and everything. But it comes the good part where you have also a lot of safety, more structure, you have the. Of good things coming with it and another foot in the, in the more chaotic part, like more represented, like Bali when you have less rules, more opportunities, but also it's like more stressful lifestyle where you. You cannot control much and you have to adapt to the other country. So. So yeah, both were. Were great. I'm still not saying I'm gonna live a full time in Sudan. I'm still gonna move sometimes back to Bali and everything. We. We'll see how it goes. But. But for now, this is the. The next chapter.
And guys often ask, you know, are you going to go back to Bali at all, or what's the. Your plan with that?
Yeah, still. Still gonna go back to Bali. I have a. For sure the time chamber there that I want to go back. I have other projects also, so I'm gonna go there, but it's gonna be just in different mindsets. Now that I've created everything there, I can settle and. And be less stressed, I would say, and enjoy. Enjoy Bali even more because I would be back from Switzerland. So when I'm tired of the. The rules and. And all that stuff, I'm gonna be happy to be back in Bali. And then the opposite. So doing both makes me enjoy every aspects of each country.
What does it make you think about what you're building because you're kind of building your own living experiences. Would you say that it's more like a Swiss experience in Bali Time chamber of something where everything's organized and kind of luxury?
Yeah, for sure. Yeah. The. The buy time chamber is more something where everything is structured and so you have everything you want. You have really clean restaurants, rooms. It's not like really the Bali life. That's what we. We created this place in the chaos of the mountains, I would say. And we structured it so we make sure when we come we can focus on our goals, train. We have all the gym equipments, the spa, the ice bath, the hot tub, all these things. So it's like, yeah, like cutting out all the. The noise we have in our daily life and just going to completely new environment, but at the same time having everything you need to just be productive. Because the thing is, the concept is not just going on holiday and just enjoy the moment there. It's. It's about walking out. It's about getting focus and exchanging with other guys. So for sure you want to do it in the best environment possible. And that's why we. We. I tried to create something where we can provide everything people wants to be productive and not just to enjoy and relax in holiday mode.
And for yourself, like living as part of that. Next to that. What's the change been like for you, where for six months you had other men around all the time meeting new people?
Yeah, that's also what I created this because I wanted to benefit from it. I knew that it was going to be the perfect place to grow. And living inside this place, that was completely amazing. That's what really changed my life, brought me to this chapter now where everything is running way better. In the business, in the physical, in the relationships, in every aspect of my life. I had so much time to really work and invest on myself. So that's why it's like a cheat code. It's like created the place so people can come a few weeks, months. But I, I had the chance to live there for the whole time. So it was like, it was really like a. A cheat code so I could save a. A lot of time. Because for me is the, the main thing is for sure the community because you're gonna exchange with a lot of guys. So when you stay a long time, when you stay a month, you have. You get the chance also to know and meet a lot of different guys. And that's where the, the big thing is. And, and for me, the fact that I could stay the whole time and not have to do living like a hotel, like you don't do the cleaning, you don't do your food, you don't drive because everything is on site. You have the gym next to your room, you have everything. So yeah, it's different. It's really a bubble where you can just have so much time that you can think about things that you would never think because you're not really in the mood because you'd be stressed about other stuff. So when you can be really productive and then you have extra 3, 4 hours during the day and then you can speak with other guys and then you can take time to reflect on other stuff. For me it changes everything is really clear your mind and makes you focus on the important stuff because you don't have distraction, you don't have fast food, you don't have cinema, you don't have all the things that maybe take us out of the right path. There is nothing like this out there in the middle of the mountains. You can just only walk to the waterfall if you want. But then you just talk with the guys and train. So yeah, it's really different experience and that's why we try to provide. Yeah. In the future, keep doing this even more location, more, more everything.
Yeah, there's something about the day to day when you have to think about all of your normal needs that means that you have less brain power for whatever else you might want to think about. But there's like a deeper level to that of knowing that your needs are met and feeling an extra Degree of safety and belonging connected to other guys that maybe opens up new levels of creativity or ways of thinking about life. Like, did you see? I think this is what guys really love when they get into this full immersive environment.
But yeah, yeah, that's what I've really seen with the guys is it's really. I really can see when they were coming and they. And they leave at the end. It's really a before and after the camp, I would say, because it just transforms you. Sometimes some guys, they just need a few hours to realize the thing. They come and in a few hours when they feel like they completely relax, like everything is taken care of, they can switch so many of the things that have in their mind, like, I have to do this, I have to do this. They can switch everything. And then it comes, like, the creative part and then they start to completely shift their mindset. And, and for sure, if you were alone, that wouldn't be the same. Maybe it could be a nice experience. But the big power in this is to have all the other guys doing exactly the same shift at the same time. And then you have big realization and then you can speak about this with all the other guys. And that's where the ideas and the vision comes to life so quick.
So it's only. It's. It's been a year since you decided you wanted to do it, and then maybe nine months since it's happening. What would you say to. Or what are you saying to all the guys who say they want to do the same thing? Yeah. What do you, what do you think about the, the people that you've inspired? I know there's a lot within uncommon success who are inspired to build something and they want to have this kind of lifestyle. What are you. What are your suggestions or advice?
Yeah, yeah, I would say that's the thing. Like, this experience can just give you the taste of the. The life you. You really want. So it doesn't mean you're gonna live in the time chamber your whole life. You're not gonna be just surrounded by guys your whole life. You want wife, you want kids, you want other aspects. But this is a good reset to really know, like, really what you want. So it can really give you the taste and live this life for just a week or maybe a month, but you can really experience it. And when you come back to your daily life, then you can make better choices and you know where you. Where you're going. And I feel like it's something of. Many times we have these kind of Dreams in our head or if you're like, oh, yeah, I think the. Yeah, like the best situation would be to have this car on this house or something. And then. Yeah, and then I'm gonna be good or anything, like, physical. I want a handstand push up, and then I'm gonna be good, and then I'm gonna feel happy and it's gonna be perfect. And it's kind of a false thing we have in our head because when we experience it and say, okay, now I have it, like, what's the next step? Like, it's not done. And a lot of guys, they think they want also just this kind of life. I want to be in nature and I just want to be relaxed. I. But the thing is, you get to really experience it. You get to level up really fast and live this kind of life where everything is taken care of and you live like a king. And then it makes you reflect on what you really want. So you see that this is not an end goal. It's not like, oh, yeah, I want this. It's like, maybe I want this life, but also for my friends, I want. For my family. I want for a different situation. And it just makes you go quicker after in your vision. For me, the main thing is it just makes you think faster. And you get to go ahead and you don't have to wait maybe 10 years until you have the money to build this kind of life, to realize, okay, that was just one step, now I need to do it the other one. So now you can experience it, understand, get the experience, get the knowledge, and go to the next step.
It's a bit of the dream of being on a beach holiday, right. Of the image that's painted, of the laptop lifestyle. You do two, three days a day on the laptop, and then you chill for. For the rest of your time. But then for most of us, it's. When you have that other time, you then think about what else you're going to create. The creative force is not only there for a few hours a day.
Exactly. Exactly. Because you realize life is great when it's like this, but you also feel like, okay, I want something really meaningful. I want something that's gonna give sense and meaning to my life. And sometimes you need to see it with your own eyes, also with the other guys. Like some guys, they're already doing things that you wanted to do. They already achieved most of the things you want to achieve. And you. You get to talk to them and you get to see what's their daily life, how Are they living this experience and then you can get more feedback, more experience without spending years and years of trying to get there and then getting the knowledge so you can get it straight away and make better choices.
Yeah, yeah, I love that. It's like getting the shortcut of this is your dream life. Okay, live it now and then see if that really is your dream life. What did you learn from living your dream life?
Yeah, exactly, exactly. I had some people when I was traveling in Australia in the, in the van. I remember receiving a lot of messages. This is my dream. Like I, my dream in my life is like traveling in a van like this because. And it's like, like just, just do it. Even if you have this in your mind and you feel like, okay, I have to work like 10 years to get to this situation, then I have this job, then I can quit and I can do this and then I can have my life, my van life there just like first go, go like two weeks, just rent one or something, just get friends one or anything. Just go for two weeks, experience yourself and you will see if it's still your dream. Also like you can, and you can get so much faster because maybe you're going to realize, okay, okay, maybe that's actually not exactly what I want. And I want something a bit more different, a bit more stable and then you can readjust your thing. But it's a bit sad sometimes when I see people, they have this kind of dream for years and years and years and they prepare to it and then at the end they're like, ah, that wasn't the kind of the right choice or anything. And the main thing is it takes so long and you lose, you not really lose, but like you spend a lot of time not knowing really what you want to do just because you didn't experience it, you didn't go into action right away. So that's what I'm trying to do most in every aspect of my life is when I thinking about something, I have a vision, I try to experience it as soon as possible. If I can just get a glitch of something so I can feel it and then you have more knowledge. So for me the time chamber expense to be this is like moving forward, living this experience and, and then when you come back to your life, you, you better, you, you know what you want after.
It's a, yeah, it's a great lesson for everything. And so many men think that that's the dream lifestyle. And so yeah, experience it, see what you learn. If it's really what you, you want to create, then create it. But if you haven't experienced it, then you really don't know. I had it with the rugby, right, Because I was working with the professional rugby and a lot of the guys who joined my program initially wanted to coach athletes and that was really a lot of the reason they joined where they wanted to coach them privately or with teams. And then I would give them the experience. One I remember in particular he came to the Cloak of Poliquin workshop, Nathan Gould, and he's like, yeah, I want to work with rugby league teams. And he played high level rugby league like a junior elite player. He was working as a personal trainer. He was on this path to be able to do it, but he didn't go to university, so he's thinking, okay, I have to go to university, have to get a degree, have to get a master's, probably maybe a Ph.D. or you know, spend a long time there to get the credibility and then maybe I can apply for a low level job in a sports team and work my way up. And 10, 15 years later he might be head of a program in an NRL team if he's lucky. And you know, it's, there's not many roles and most guys stay in the roles. So he started my program. I was like, cool, let me, let me get you some work experience. Like, do you want to work with the Tigers? I was consulting with them at the time and he went in there and I think it was less than a month before he realized like, this is not what I want to do. This is not what I thought it was going to be. They don't. Everyone has this idea that athletes are really focused on their goals and that they're always switched on and that they, they love what they do. And. But a lot of athletes are just like other men in society and they're kind of doing their thing, but they're distracted and they're doing other things. It's not true of all athletes, but quite a few people when they go into the rugby league environment, like this is nothing like what I thought it was going to be like. And so then he started his own business and he started a fitness business which did well as a boot camp. And then he has a nutrition supplement company that got health business and he built a farm in the country. He came and visited my place where I rented my version of the Bali Time Chamber 2014. I rented the most beautiful place I could find near Byron Bay. Seven bedroom house, huge rent. Everyone thought I was crazy renting this massive place. And then I ran events that he came to one of those events. He's like, this is what I want. And he. But he was saying it while he was experiencing it. And then maybe five years later, he bought a place about 30 minutes from there. And he's been living on the animal, on the farm with his animals, with his shed and his, his gym. And it shows the power of the concept that you're talking about. Like, if you think you, you would love it, then how can you, how can you experience that now? How can you start it? Same with online business. Like we have the same thing of. Okay, well if you think you want to coach people online, like just start coaching them, see what it feels like. Don't worry about the money, don't worry about all the details of everything. Just get the experience and see if you like it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. It's like do. Do it for free. Like do everything you can to just get the experience. And then when you have it, you. Because imagine like you just by putting him in the, in the situation and just making him coach people, you just saved maybe 10 years of his life. It's like, it's. It's crazy when you think about it. And so how so so many people are losing all these years, like going in the goal that you don't really want because you, you didn't get the chance to just experience it first. So for sure, like maybe there are other situation where you cannot really experience it. So I want to become a billionaire. You're not gonna get the billionaire lifestyle just like this. But you can put you in a situation where you can feel how it's like you can just leave it for a week. It's going to cost you a lot, but you can just leave it for a week and really feel like, okay, is it really what I want to go? Because you feel like maybe it's money spent, it's stupid and everything, but no, it's not. Because you may be saving years and years and years and years worth a lot. So, yeah, I would push everyone to just take action and try to experiment all their dreams as soon as possible. Like a fake situation and get the feedback from it.
So you, you lived that backpacker camper van life that was probably the dream at the time. Was it?
Yeah, exactly. On many stages of my life. I was like, okay, this is going to be the dream. And then you guys. No. And well, but this is going to be the dream. No. And I think it's going to be like this forever also because you Just. You just want something different. And it's when you experience something, you get the best out of it, and then you go to the next step. So it's not that the van life wasn't great or anything. It teached me a lot. It just helped me to. To go a step ahead and just, like, keep experiencing all of that. So now I know what I'm talking about. I know that's the. The thing I like, the thing I don't like. And it helps me makes better choices. But if I had to. Yeah. Like work years and years to make sure I can just put the right situation to do my van life forever. And then you realize it's not gonna work. That's. It's kind of not smart ways to do things. Yeah. Yeah.
Is it. Is it a no after or is it just the next? You know, like, it's like, okay, that was. That was cool experience. Living out the back of the van, training each day, cooking on the barbecues in, you know, beaches of Australia. And then you built your own app. Right. We were playing around a bit together. You were doing some work for me. I was trying to build something. And then you found a body, and you build a really nice fitness app that is also a dream for a lot of online coaches. You've been coaching people for years, writing programs, so you made your own app. And then do you look back on that, thinking it's a mistake, or do you look back and think like, it was an evolution?
Yeah. No, no, really, like every aspect, even the real mistakes, the things that didn't bring anything, I don't see them as mistakes. It's just one step of the process. It's like you need to go through these things to become the guy you want to be. And I would never be so clear in my mind right now about what I want if I didn't do all these things. If I was just walking, preparing for one thing, and I only get to experience one different lifestyle every 10 years, then you don't really grow that much. But when you can experience many kind of lifestyle like this, it's absolutely not a mistake. I never see anything I did in the past as a mistake. Really? Because everything just brought me where I am right now. And I'm really proud. I'm really happy with the situation I am right now. So why would I change it? Maybe if I didn't do it, I wouldn't be able to do what I'm doing now because I didn't have the knowledge, the experience. So for sure, I'm happy with everything that happened, the good and the bad.
Do you think there's any guidance that's pushing you along this path, or is it purely an intellectual thing?
What do you mean? Like, guidance? Like.
Like, when you decided to sell, you had a. We skipped this chapter as well. But you had a beautiful setup in France. I remember we were talking. You were starting to make YouTube videos. You. A really, really nice garage. Like, one of the best home setups. It was like, the whole downstairs of the house. It was beautiful. And then we were chatting sometimes on Instagram, and then you're like, I'm selling everything and I'm. I'm going traveling. I was like, cool, that's courageous. But looks like you have something really nice there. Like, is it an intellectual decision, or is it some kind of feeling that you just know?
Yeah, it's just like, it was something. I really wanted to do the same. So I just made everything so I could get this dream as soon as possible and leave it. And for me, when I got it, I felt like it was just not the right moment to. I couldn't really appreciate it the way I would appreciate it right now. I was missing all the parts, and the other parts were the traveling, the experience. And it's also because everything is linked. That's why having this gym at home and having this situation was like, okay, that's. That's a really good step. That's what gave me the confidence and the safety and the courage to say, okay, I'm gonna leave. Because maybe if I didn't get to this point, I would have never left. Also. I would have just stayed where I was, like, get a normal job or anything and not be. Be safe, but not really 100% happy. And this situation gave me the power to say, okay, like, now I want to go to the adventure. I want to grow. I need this right now. So it's more feeling. It's not a plan. Like, everything I'm doing. Like, nothing is planned. Nothing is planned more than a few months in advance. Everything that happens the year after depends on the feeling, depends on how I see things going. So, yeah, it's more complex than this, but everything is linked, and it's more like an intuition. I'm just trying to follow really what I have in my heart. Because I know every time I don't follow this thing that my intuition tell me, oh, yeah, maybe you should do. You should do this every time. I. I'm not following this. I really feel shit after. I. I feel shit. I. It just never goes Away. So. And every time I follow this intuition, like, you should do this. This makes sense. This is the truth. This is like what makes sense deeply. Every time I, I chose to follow the. This voice, every time, I've been rewarded way more than I expected. So for me, it's kind of. I mean, you can, you can say it's God, you can say it's any religion, you can say it's any kind of things. But I believe we all have this kind of intuition inside us and it's just a matter of how, how much do you listen to it, and, and to not mistake this intuition with the emotional reaction. So it's really different with the emotional reaction in the moments like, oh, I'm not happy here, I need to go. No, no. Is it like an emotional reaction or is it really your intuition that tell you like this makes sense? I've analyzed the whole situation and what I feel from my experience. This is going to be good for me. It's two different things. And it's, it's whole thing to master, to listen to this intuition. But after, I think when you get to listen this, it always puts you in the, in the right position where you need to. To be.
Having met all these men and hearing about their dreams and their goals in life, what do you see that's similar? What do you see that's different?
I mean. Yeah, in, in the guys in the vision, in the.
Yeah, like similarities to, to your path to each other. And then the idea I'm playing around with is like the uniqueness of, of each individual and what we're each here for. There's this idea of design and divine design where every person is like a fingerprint and they're each unique, have a lot of similarities and they have common crossovers in abilities, but that we're all meant to perceive things differently and create differently.
Yeah, for sure. We are really unique and we all have unique paths. And you don't want to take the other guy's path because it's never going to work for you. So you have to find your own. I see it a lot in a chessboard. It's not about getting in the best situation at the beginning. It's like, oh, yeah, I want this chessboard because this is easier to play like this or something. It's about what are the moves you're gonna make with your situation. Your situation. You start, you don't really have any choice. That's your genetics, that's your experience, that's your family. That's everything that you cannot Control. And for me, I see like the guys who I've seen are the most successful around me, that have the, the most meaning in their life and that I'm the most inspired. They are the guys who always try to play the best move, always try to just play the best moves in the situation they are in. Sometimes you think you completely fucked. You can say, okay, like, yeah, I'm a really bad situation right now. Like, that's not gonna work. And even if the guy next to you is in the better situation, there's no point in saying, oh yeah, I would love to have his position right now or anything. It's like you have to play your best move because you don't realize. But sometime when you think you're completely fucked on the chessboard to get the image. Sometimes you're just like, two, three, move to checkmate. But you cannot really see it, but it's here, it's here, like it's on the board. You just cannot see it. But the thing is, okay, so take time, open your eyes, try to analyze the situation and see that you are really close actually to your goals. And that changes everything. And for me, that's the guys who can really focus and put all attention and work on these next moves. I don't care about the situation. How bad is right now? What is the best move I can do next? And just step by step like this. That's, that's the, the mindset I'm trying to be all the time.
And the big question you also get or something that comes up with doing Bali time chamber and men's only communities. It's like, what's, what's the role of women? Are you going to build this for women? How are you? Has your view of women and vision for women changed at all through having this men's only location?
For me, it would make no sense to make a woman one because for me, like the woman, she's the heart of the family. She needs to be. He needs to bring the whole family together. And for me, it's the job, the man's job to just do this out there, to just get the job done. Like so represented by the body Time chamber is to provide, is provide security, to provide financial freedom, to provide everything. But doing the same concept with women only and putting them in the best, I don't think that's where they belong. They don't need to be surrounded by other women and just thinking about, about growing like this. For me, they should be with the man that's going to do this. Job and provide the. The family, provide the children, provide all of this. And for me, it needs to be in the heart of the home. So just getting out and like, you see like how it's going. The like woman only retreats or anything. Most of the time it's more spiritual thing. From my view on this. It just never gets anywhere. Like, it doesn't really help anything. Most of the time you just become more individualistic. You're just more thinking about yourself and less than the community and the family you want to build. Where the guy, when he's gonna go out like the buy time chamber, he's just gonna try to become better, to come back and to provide in a better way to become a better man for his family. And that's why I think this concept I created, it applies for the guy, for the guys who want to work like this. But I cannot really see the same concept for the woman only. I would think, like, for example, a family only would make sense. For example, a place where you can only come with your children and exchange with other women, other mothers, other fathers, and just get all together, this family. But in the other side, I just, I just cannot see it.
And what do you think is the impact of. Is a man thinking like this when they're coming? I mean, thinking like this when they're leaving about being a good man for a family? Or are you meeting a lot of men who think they never want children and they're coming to enjoy themselves?
From my experience, all the guys who came, they all, they all in this mindset, and that's what's good about it. That's what I like is they. They not doing this for themselves. Like, they're not doing this for like, okay, I'm gonna be. I'm gonna be rich on my own. I'm gonna do everything I want and I don't care about everyone else. That's definitely not the mindset. All the guys I talk to, they all want to build families. Some. Some are going out of. Just going out of breakup and they feel like, okay, like this is the. Was. This was the wrong situation. This was the wrong energy. I need to find the good one. And to find the good one, I need to. To become better. I need to be the guy and I want to attract the girl, the woman that's. That's going to need a man like this, that I want to become.
Do you think the masculine environment is a good place to become that? Or do you need to be dating? Do you need to be spending time with the Woman.
Yeah, you can see the answer already in your question. It's like for me, it's, you're never going to be a good man in my, in my eyes, like more skillful. If you just keep on dating, staying on apps like Tinders and just going out, you just like, you're just like throwing away your energy, your attention to people that not gonna stay in your life just for instant pleasure. You just want to play. But I mean, if you, if your child, if you're a teenager, it's fine. But when you become a man, you have other priorities. You can see things on the long term. You can see just that it doesn't go anywhere. It's not gonna make you great to just keep dating and just do parties and everything. What's gonna make you great is having responsibilities and having people to share this with. Having people to live and experience deep emotion and not just temporary pleasures. So for sure, this is the kind of place for me that helps you build this energy. Also realize it. Realize that, okay, if you're not dating for a week, if you're not dating for a month, the world doesn't stop. You're still moving forward and you can start to realize that all this distraction, all this world that you were living in is actually pretty meaningless and is just not going anywhere. So when you get to really experience this, then you realize and you feel the power of being disciplined and showing up every day and training and doing all the things you don't want to do for a bigger purpose.
Now you're going on the journey of fatherhood. It starts long before you see the baby on the outside. But what impact has it had on the way you seeing the world and.
Thinking about, yeah, for me it was a few steps is like the first, the first switch was when you start to think that you want a kid. That was the first thing for me when you feel like, okay, now I'm ready, like, I want one. And it was a shift already because you feel like, okay, now I'm not doing things for myself. I'm not doing things only for my wife. I'm going to do things for much more important things and I'm going to build something much bigger than me. So there is a first shift. And then for sure, when she gets pregnant and when you know it's going to become real, things get really real. And you're like, okay, now it's starting, so I'm on the way. So you have second motivation and purpose that's coming and it gets more intense. And the next Step is going to have the baby. I think it's going to be the most intense of everything. So it's going to happen in a month, so I don't know yet, but for sure I'm going to talk about it and I'm pretty sure it's going to be for sure like life changing and it's gonna, I think it's gonna answer a lot of my questions. So I'm excited for, for this to happen.
Most men these days think they're gonna wait until their 30s and women especially think they're going to wait until their 30s to have children because they want to enjoy their life. This is the most common thing that you would hear from them. I was just playing soccer on the beach with a French guy actually who wants to be a Sports doctor. He's 26 and he just got out of being in university. He's there with his girlfriend in Mexico. And I asked him about, you know, when are you going to have family? Do you want to have family? It's like, I only just finished school, you know, I need to enjoy my life for, for some years now before I think about family. And it's pretty much the same, you know, similar age to you. What is it that kind of helped you feel like you were ready, do you think? Was it that you were achieving things financially and even in self actualization, like more confidence or was it more finding the woman?
Yeah, I think it's a, it's a bit of everything. For, for me personally, the main thing was also having the right one, having the right woman. When you see in her that, okay, like she, she has everything to be a good mother and she's gonna take care of my, of my children. And I believe this situation can, can be beautiful in the long term. That's, that was the main thing for me. But for sure, after it's more like because you see all of this coming that then you get more confidence also about, okay, I'm gonna make a better business. I'm gonna be, become better in every aspect of my life. It's more because the children and the vision of being a father, it's coming that you get this confidence. I feel like for me it's a bit like, okay, it's gonna happen. So I need to be confident. There is no way I'm not gonna be here. There is no way I'm not gonna do these things. And you kind of have this superpower, like superpower that's like, okay, no matter what it goes, like I'm gonna make it Happen. I'm gonna make it work because I have a family to take care, and that's the superpower. It just puts you in this position, and then you have no choice. So then that's how things works most of the time. That's how, like, when you go. When I went traveling and I sold everything and didn't have any business, I know I was starting one, and I feel like, okay, like, it needs to work because I don't have anything else. And I like to be in this kind of situation where you don't really have much plan B and you have to make the plan A work, and you. And you just do it. And for me, it's kind of the father superpower when it comes to.
Yeah, we spoke about it quite a lot with Fabio. No Ike. When he recently became a father. I think he's been speaking as well. I felt that really strongly. And it's maybe can be explained with the idea of intent and content. So because my baby's just been born, they say that the baby initially doesn't have willpower. So everything that it's doing is reflexive, driven by intent. Some of the modern Western medical system says it doesn't have consciousness either. It doesn't feel pain. And they used to operate on babies without anesthetic and stuff. This, we. We know is not true. And they're already learning a lot in the womb. They know the voices. They know all the different sounds of the languages that you speak. It's. It's a. It's a being that is aware and awake, but it doesn't yet have the ability to decide, okay, I'm gonna slap him in the face now with. With the little baby arms. It's not saying that to have the ability to. To choose or, okay, I'm going to stop myself from crying because I'm worried that, you know, whatever. It's. All the intent is there. And it's really clear with the baby, like, to get to the milk and to move itself around and to get the poo out, and everything is just automatic. And we have this intent all through life, but we later have willpower as well. So we have the intent, and then we can choose what we do with it.
It.
The content then, is the environment that we're in and the conversations that we're having and the books that we're reading and the women that we're meeting. And so the. The external environment. If you have this thing of I want to build an online business, then cool. But then what content do you find? You need something to reference to be able to. To go into that next journey that you. That you want to go on. So a lot of men kind of have the. The intent is there of, like, I know I need a wife. I know I need land. I know I need animals. I know I need a higher degree of freedom than what I have now. I know I don't want to be in a smart city area where I'm nothing and I'm happy. Like, this is not the vision that I have for myself. The intent is clear. But then when it comes to content, we generally think, okay, I'm going to do this on my own, and, you know, I just need to work this out. But then there's no content. If it's a solo journey.
Yeah.
Then what are you interacting with?
That's exactly what I feel like. Having the people that you have to provide for. That's what gives you the motivation. Because sometimes if it's for you, it's fine. You feel like, I don't really need to change too much because I'm fine. Like, okay, it's not great, but it's just me, so it's okay. But when you really want to make the one you love happy, that's way more powerful than just for you. If you want to make money, just thinking about providing for a whole family for your parents, for your grandparents, for your children. And, you know, you can give freedom, you can give happiness, you can give security, you can give all of that to all of these people that you love. That's so much more powerful than just, yeah, I'm gonna have a nice car. And that's just for me, that's just not enough to really get to work and do something really meaningful.
Yeah. You have to have a love. And the love can be that stuff that's close to you with the family, but you can also have the love. Like Bali Time chamber is a project of love. And even you've said to me, like, you don't have sentimental love for other men, and you're not, like, really engaged in that way. But to create an environment for them and see what comes of it is. Is still in some way serving like a bigger picture.
Exactly, exactly. We talked about this because some people have more emotion about this. Some people, like in the coaching, they really love just to help people. They don't know this. They know they have an impact in their life. They just. That's the whole motivation. That's the whole purpose, and they love it. For me, it's not really about this. It's not about. I want to check on every guy that comes and make sure, like, okay, like he. He changed your life. I want to see all of that. And it's the fuel for me. The fuel for me is more doing the right thing. I feel like this is right. I'm doing something right. That's just gonna. Brings better things in the world in general. And I know I'm doing the right choices. That's why I feel good. And I feel like I'm helping. And I feel like that's. That fuels me. So it's. It's differences. I mean, it's pretty close, but it's something different. Yeah.
Yeah. I think it's important to talk about because sometimes people feel guilty of if they don't really have a sentimental attachment to the result. It was sort of like that with the rugby teams and that I was working with. Like, like you enjoy the outcome. But then there's. There's different ways that people perceive the relationships. And I think that that is a. A really one of the big differences that we have of there are those who are more emotional and sentimental in relationships and others that are. It's more data driven or.
Yeah.
Even just knowing that it's the right thing to do.
Yeah.
Do good deeds, speak good words, think good thoughts. This is one of the.
Yeah. Yes. Something is. You can see it's like egocentric, just like thinking about you. But the thing is, from my experience is if you want to help, like, you're never gonna help as much as more like taking care of you and like becoming a better person first is that's. That's how you're gonna really help people. And I've sent hundreds of training programs to my friends and everything just like, yeah, I want to help. Like, just, yeah, do this, do this. But it just never works. When you try to do things for other people and you try to help them directly, but at the opposite, when I just walked on myself, got better, got some skills, one up, chin ups, handstand push ups, things like this. And then you inspire so much more people. It's not even only your friends. All the people that see you, that meet you, that speak with you and you have a clear impact on their life. Like, you have something that they can see what you're doing. And I feel like, okay, that's something that I respect. That's something I want to do now. I'm ready to learn. I'm ready to do it. And I didn't even try to help. I've just did the work and for me, there is also this part that plays a big role on the Time Chamber and everything. It's not also only on building the. Having the place, but the fact that I built the place also that I've created this. I think it inspires also. A lot of people say, okay, like, he built this. Maybe I can build something also like this. I can make something. And then it has a huge impact because these guys are gonna impact other people. And then it's exponential more than just directly, okay, please let me help you. Like, I'm gonna give you this. You have to do things on your own. You have to work on yourself. And then you. You get to. To inspire a lot of people, and you get to help way more people.
One of the things that I needed to go through or a valuable journey, personal journey that I went through, was learning Spanish, some basic German before that, and then French later when I went to school, I didn't do well in languages. I didn't really enjoy it, and teachers told me I wasn't good at languages. And then in my 20s, it was like crossing off the list of all the things that people told me I wasn't good at or that I told myself I couldn't do. One of those things for me was juggling as well. That's why. It's one of the reasons why I value it so much. Even the handstands I wanted to learn in the early, early days of the Internet, I was downloading, like, the old manuals for how to do handstands that were written, like, a hundred years ago. They weren't that good, and. Or I wasn't that good at reading them, and I didn't get there. But then going through those things, all of these little individual journeys, building the intellectual capacities, wrestling with ideas, I feel like these are all tools as well that go with this process. And through the ages, they've been spoken about the language journey for you. I know initially the conversations in English were more uncomfortable. And then I noticed we used to speak a lot in French. And then even though my French was not. Not great, and it's. It's still not perfect or anything, but you've gone through this journey of learning language. Last time we were together, we spoke a lot more in English. And now you're doing podcasts in English. You've been speaking to men from all around the world in English. What is. What is your reflection on the language journey?
Yeah, it helped me a lot also. It was something. I was a bit shy at the beginning, and that's Also, one of the main reason I wanted to travel also is to expand a bit. I mean, we are pretty limited in, in content. If you only speak French, you have only access to the French things. Everything is in English all around the world. So if you don't make the effort to learn English, for me, it's. It's a big mistake to not invest because it's a really good investment. Like you're gonna invest a few months, a few years maybe to learn. But then when you get to get all this knowledge and everything, it's still not perfect. I'm still making a lot of mistakes. I can hear me making mistakes, but I did the work and it just opens so many doors and it just teach you again that you can do things like this and it can change your life. It's like the juggling. It's just not about the juggling itself. It's not about showing off that you can juggle. It's more the thing that you show that, okay, I have discipline, I'm ready to take it takes to achieve things. And you do it on the juggling you're doing on the handstand and you do it on the language. Then you're doing on everything, every aspect. And then every time you have a new challenge, you're not scared, you feel like, no, I know the process. Yeah, maybe it's going to take a few months, few years, but do I really want it? If I want it, I know I can have it. So then when you know what you want, that's why it's really important to have the vision and really invest your time, the thing that's really matter. And then you feel like it's fine. Like for me, I feel like I was a bit scared also on the, the business side, it's like, yeah, I want to make a lot of money, but how much money do I am gonna lose myself on the way? Is it worth it? Do I have to do it or no? And yeah, like, because of all these things that I learned, at some point I feel like, yeah, I mean, some people are doing it. Like, for sure I'm gonna be able to do it too. Like, I did so many things that so many people are not doing already. So why would I fail on this? Like, there is no fail. You just need to keep doing it. It's like everything, it just teaches you, like, you're not gonna fail at juggling. You're just gonna say like, oh, no, I cannot juggle. It's not possible. For sure you're gonna juggle at some point, if you do it every day, and if you just do step by step, slowly, for sure you're gonna juggle. Anyone can juggle five balls. You just need time. And so when you realize this deeply, it's not just talking. When you really realize it, then everything you want to. You want to try is like, okay, is it worth it to put a few years. But I know I can have it. I know. I know I can do it.
Yeah. That's why the method for me has been what it is that it's easy to doubt if you're learning psychological techniques for retraining your subconscious mind to believe in yourself. And you can do these things. And maybe some people had parents who really believed in them or set an example around entrepreneurship. I think your parents are super creative, and my father's, you know, really successful. My mother made beautiful gardens and such. Like, we had some good examples of people living in certain ways. And. But to talk about reprogramming the subconscious mind, and it's easy to have a short experience where everyone's excited, but when you have this concrete evidence of change and people are. You know that when you show someone what you can do, they know that you've done a lot of work to get that. For me, that's a really strong foundation. And, yeah, it gives you the same belief to go into other areas, whether it's in relationships or spirituality, you know, exploring deeper things, the side of the intellect and the side of the physical abilities. They should always be there as a concrete foundation to refer back to for yourself. I think it makes it easier in on tougher days to know, okay, well, yeah, I built all this stuff already, and I can experience it physically. For me, there's something much more powerful about that even than having a bunch of money in the. The bank account or the. All the books that you've read. Like, the. The tangible thing of, okay, I did this. I have this.
Yeah, that's the beauty of, like, having these skills, because when you have them, you can recreate everything. You can lose all your money tomorrow and have nothing. You're gonna. You're gonna get this, get it again. You're gonna make everything again. If you lose your shape, if tomorrow I just makes you fat and no experience and anything. You still have the skills. You still have everything. So, you know where you're gonna go. You know, what's your plan? And, you know, so for me, that's the most important is being really skillful. And that's what I was saying is, like, for me, I Feel like my goal is really to be the guy that, you know you're gonna be safe and everything's gonna be wrong if I'm here. You know, it's like. It's like being in this situation where they say, okay, no worries. Kigan is here. He's gonna be fine. Like, he. He. He's gonna know how to find a solution. No, for me, that's the masculine thing, traits I really want to have. It's like problem solver. You know, it's like you. He has the skills. It's like, oh, any situation. Yeah, he knows. He trained, he juggle, he can speak language. He can do this. He can do all of that, no problem. And for me, that's. That's the most beautiful things you can. You can do as a man. It's like becoming this kind of guy.
Maybe there's a. I think there's an intent towards that. I think there's something about the Bali Time chamber and, you know, have it run events over the years, even with a rugby team, them being around physically capable men all the time, it's. There's something energizing and reassuring about it. Even though they're not all armed with guns. And it's not like a literal thing of like, we're gonna go and kill everybody or if someone comes in and tries to kill us, we're bulletproof. But there's something about when you're around people who have been developing their capacities and are capable, there's something really powerful about that that it's hard to put words on, but you feel it and you know it. And it allows you to expand your thinking as well, because you're from a stronger base of belonging and of you're meeting the basic needs, meeting the reptilian needs with food and safety and. And. But also this year, this level, something that men deeply need, in my experience, and even you can get it to some degree online, but it's always so much more powerful.
Yeah, that's something I love about this, about the community. Like, of friends, I love this when we go holidays or something and we group of guys and I know, like, the. My friend can manage a whole farm and do everything on this. The other one has many other. Other skills in other aspects. You like? I feel great. I feel like, okay. Like, I feel really inspired. I feel like we can do so much. Just the fact that your friends and the people around you can do all of that stuff that you maybe cannot just gives you so much. It's not motivation, but it gives you so Much energy and power and vision about, okay, we are invincible. Like, we. We can do so many. So many, so many things. And like you said, it's not even real because, like, you're not bulletproof. You can. You can be fucked at any time, but you are in a situation like this, and that's how you do things. That's how you do great things, because you have this vision and you feel. You feel really powerful, and that's the feeling. It's. Yeah, it's really hard to. To describe.
But when you feel that, you know, and.
Exactly.
Yeah. The Montenegro experience and the Vanuatu experience. I had the. The experience in Montenegro was like finding a guy with a little building on the side of the hill that he. He built a house for his goats, and he managed 50 goats. And I went there with my daughter by chance. It's a longer story, but met this man, and I was like, okay, this is a place you can have experiences that are different to the kind of experiences you get down on the coast in Montenegro. This is a different type of environment. And so I've invited. Now maybe 70, 80 men have been there from my network. And every time. It's not like Bali time chamber, where you can be really proud that everything's perfect and they get this beautiful, pristine experience. It's not like that. There's big hearts there, and there's.
There's.
There's good energy and there's good. But it is a different environment to be in that is uncomfortable for people who've grown in the Western world. They're like, okay, what? You're doing it this way. Why is it done this way? And they're seeing things in a more raw sense of how you build. For me, that was a big eye opener. Like, seeing building happening up close in a more traditional way was a kind of a shock to me, like. Of seeing. Like, how does that even work? Like, how are these stairs even staying up the way they're putting them? But that's what I really wanted, man. Like, that was my intent when I had the chance. Like, you with you when you're living out the back of the van. I had this experience in my similar age, 23, 24. Like, nothing to do, no smartphone, no job, and experiencing the world. The thing that came up for me was, like, I need to create an environment where people can have experiences to expand the. The vision. And then it came with the languages, and then it came with the. These other, you know, the juggling at the handstands and all these things. I always want to Expand what that can be as well. Like what, what can someone experience in the Bali Time Chamber, or what can be experienced in an online community or what can be experienced in a farming environment. And I think we have the openness of a lot of the men who are going to watch this or who are in our networks at the moment. There's an openness to explore, but then we kind of have responsibility of, well, what else do they need to experience? We want them to experience what we've experienced, but then we need to continue to evolve and experience as well. What's on your mind when thinking about like next levels of experience and using the opportunity that you have?
Yeah, it just depends on cycles. That's what I think. It's important to have different experiences. Like you said in Montenegro, for example, when it's more, it's harder. Maybe you have to cook your food. The weather is not going to be that great. Maybe you're going to be cold or hot sometimes. Maybe you're going to be. That's also one experience that everyone needs to go through. So it's not like one experience is better than the other. It's like, which one do you need right now? Which one is the best for you? You. So some, they've already living this life all day. They're already in the farm, they already in, in the grass, just working hard every day. So they don't need an experience like this. Maybe they need to find another space where they can free their mind and be in a more relaxed position where they can really think about stuff more than just being in the rush all the time. And some is the opposite. They already luxury life. They have everything they need and they don't have these kind of challenges. They don't know how to use their hands, they don't know how to build anything. And they feel a bit useless on some parts. And I feel like that can give them the confidence, okay, like, I know how this works. I know how to build a house, I know how to sleep even if it's really cold and it's going to be fine. And it's just different experiences. So for me, for sure, if we can provide all these different experiences and you can choose the one you want, when you want and when you feel like when you got too much, too much living like a king, too much luxury, and you feel like, okay, I need to go back into the dirt a bit. I need to, you know, it's like an army mode. I need to get with the guys and I need to push me and I need to get out of this zone, then you have another one. But every time, the beauty of it for me is to have the support of all the other guys, is to have to be in a team, to go through all of this not alone, but to go with the team. You go in the dirt with the team, or you gonna enjoy also the beautiful things of life with other guys. You're gonna enjoy everything with team, and that's what makes the. The journey way more meaningful. Yeah. Yeah.
I'm looking forward to. Most guys listening to this. They just. They want the. The income, the online income, the money, the passive income, so that they can have the experiences. But when I first decided I wanted to do this, I had no money and I had no idea of how I would ever get land. And I kind of want to, as you say, accelerate the journey by giving the experience earlier. Like, I want them to experience what it's like to stay in a little hut on the top of the hill, look after some goats and chickens, just experience that life for a month. I think it's such a beautiful, beautiful thing that that should happen, that needs to happen. And I want to. I want to continue to have these rich experiences. And for my children now, like, the moving bit between these different environments, they're extremely adaptable people. Some people will be critical of the way that we're living, but ultimately, we. We each decide the environments. Yeah, the now we have these playgrounds and multiple playgrounds. It's only really limited to by creativity. I want people who are listening to this or those who are thinking about this stuff to also feel as though you don't have to have all the money to do it. Like, people think. Someone says, oh, I want to have a village, and I want to. I want to build something. And they think, okay, so I need to save up $3 million, and then I'm gonna do it. Okay, maybe for some people, that's gonna motivate them. One out of a thousand is gonna be like, okay, I'm gonna save the $3 million in the next 10 years, and they're gonna do it, and then they're gonna start the village. But it doesn't have to be that way. The land is everywhere, and there's investors everywhere and there's money everywhere. You know, it's being the kind of person that you need to be and. And finding as the whole message of this podcast, I think, is like, just make the next move and be the kind of person that people can rely on. That's what I. I also love about the handstands and the one arm, chin up and, and these, the physical feats are a lever for other people to look at and to rely on as well. If you have a strong physique, speak, if you're good at chess, if you learn multiple languages, then it's easier for someone else to think, okay, well, this is not just some idea. This guy's not the drug addict, you know, that's gonna just disappear with the. After the idea. If you really want the thing to happen, there's many, many ways it can be solved. And thinking of only that one direction of, okay, I want to do it in America, therefore, I want to do in France, Therefore, I need 3 million euros. It's not, it's not the only way. There are many solutions and, and I want more men to be able to think of that as well. Like, get into the experience and, and think more creatively about how you could go to someone who already owns the castle and make the proposal to him. Like, if you propose to everyone who owns a castle in France that, okay, we want to do this with the castle, what do you think? Probably someone's going to say yes or you'll get better at the proposal to the point there, you know?
Exactly. I, I think that's what helped me the most also is like, like, it's like one of my traits, like in my character. It's like I'm really not patient and it's really hard for me to wait to have things. So it can be bad in some situation because you want everything now. And sometimes you're not patient enough to do what it takes, but in other way, it just makes you keep moving all the time. I want to take actions on the things right now. Okay, it's like, I want to start building this, I want to have this place. I don't want to say for me, if you say, okay, like you need to say for 10 years, and then it's like, oh, done. I'm not thinking about it. I don't want to wait 10 years to get something. It's like it needs to be this year or maybe the next year, but I need to have something soon. And for me, this, when you think also a bit like this, you have to do with what you have. And you always have solutions. It's always like the chess, the same. Like you have one move that you can do, you just cannot see it. But like you said, maybe it's just, just spending just three days, maybe three days, you're going to call all day long, you're going to call all the castles in France or anything. You're just going to lose three days if it doesn't work. But you have a solution. You have a move to play right there, but you just cannot see it. And if you can just open your eyes and try to think about any kind of solutions like this, and you say, okay, I'm going to try this, I'm going to try this because I want it now, because I'm not patient, because I don't want in 10 years, I want it now. So you have to find solutions. And yeah, that's, that's the character I like in me. That's not great, but I like that I have this because I know when it's really long like this, it's too hard for me. I cannot leave it. It's like it just burns me inside. It's like, no, like I need to find something, I need to have it right now. I need to do something. And when you really have this and you, you in a hurry a bit, you take actions and just not being stupid and doing an emotional reaction. But if you're doing in a smart way, you take action then slowly you can get there. You can maybe in a year you can have a full place in France, full time running, bringing people all over the world. I mean, time chamber just started less than a year ago and it's full all the time now. It's running. It just gives me way more than I ever wanted. So it can happen pretty quick. But I could have said okay, like if I want to do it well, I need to wait this amount of years and I need to make a business plan and needs to be clear. I need to know. We just started building it. We didn't even know what it's going to be, but I just knew it was going to be in this direction. So we just started. And that's what makes it successful. Because if I waited to have a clear business plan, it's still not clear.
So Lyndon's asking there about the first step. Well, what was the first step in creating the Bali Time Chamber? He drawing what you had in your, in your mind. I'm not sure if he, if he saw. I remember specifically something that you made around the image. But what was the first step?
The first step was first step. He was for, for me, for my girlfriend. So it was just to find a nice place in the mountains. That's the kind of life I wanted to quiet. I wanted to have my, my sauna, my ice bath, my, my gym. So it was the first thought it was like, I want this kind of life. So I was thinking about this, and then when I looked at the land, look at the opportunities, I said, okay, like, if we do something, I might do something for other guys also. I. I might do something with other people that can enjoy. So at the beginning, I just thought about safety. Maybe we just build some cabins. We have Airbnb. People can come, they can enjoy the place. Also can make small business out of it. Why not? And then also you came. You came to Bali to visit the place. And we started talking and said, okay, maybe we can think a bit bigger. That was my thing. I was always thinking, a bit more safety. Okay, we just do like this. And you brought this idea to me that actually a lot of people would love to live a life. Like, I want to live, not just the Airbnb holiday, but, like the real training and sauna and ice bath and eating the meat and all that stuff. A lot of people are looking for this. I feel like, okay, like, but if we do this now, it's all.
It's.
It's a lot of pressure because you don't have the Airbnb website where everything is gonna work. You know, it's. It's fine. You have to build your own business, you have to build the whole promotion. You have to build everything. But in the process, I know that's what I wanted. Listen, I didn't want something to. To work and not have any meaning. So I just had this vision in my mind. It's like, okay, like, imagine like, the Airbnb is working, is bringing the money I want. I'm fine. What's the next step of this? I was like, that wouldn't bring much to me. Like, that wouldn't be the great choice. Like, the move that makes sense. But what you brought to me, that was something that makes sense. To be able to bring all the guys like me together and experience all of this, and we can all grow together so I can benefit not only from the business, but from the experience. And then there's so much things that grow from this. And just a few months after the Instagram blew up, everything is full. It's like, even in my dreams, while we were speaking about this, I was expecting or imagine these numbers, and if we do this, and then it's like double of everything we expected in the maximum, so. So that's what I mean. Happens when you follow your intuition and you follow your heart and you follow what makes sense. At the beginning, it sounds scary, but at the end, you have situation like this that you couldn't expect. You couldn't. I couldn't say at the beginning, yeah, it's going to be like this. There was no way I would expect something like this to happen.
Yeah. So it started with like where you were looking for the best place to live. I remember you went to that island as well.
Yeah, I went to another island. But didn't work much. Weather too hard. People not. Not great. Also they're not really independent. And yeah, the mountains made a lot of sense.
So you found that for yourself. And then you got to know local people and you saw there were. There was opportunity to buy land.
The.
At what point was it when you made the model? Did you already purchase the land and everything before had construction started or. I remember the model.
I got the land and we had no plans on the. On the land. It was just. I knew it was something good. I know I just. It was mainly about the people I met. Also the. The guy I'm working with. Oka. These guys just had a good feeling. They were like really kind people. I felt like they were just really good. And I feel like only good things can happen from this. Like any kind of project I can make. It's a good opportunity. People are nice around. I feel in a good place. Intuition, just intuition told me just yeah, that's going to be good. That's going to be good here. And then we started and we just started building step by step. It's just like okay, first we need to make the access to bring the equipment once we have the access. Okay to think about what kind of building where and. And slowly just. Just took place here.
What are you excited for in 2024?
2024. For now, the. The world has two things working on right now. It's just for sure to expand. So to. A lot of people are coming from all around the world to the Bodytime Chamber. So it would be way easier if we had other locations in the world. So for sure that's the one aspect that we need to put other locations that's more accessible in Europe, America, like other places. So we'll see how it goes. But we're already working on this and the online community for me is the now we could really bring a lot of people together in the same goals, same energy. And they have the physical location where they can meet, they can exchange. And the thing that came out all of these months of experience is like we want to connect deeper. Also after and even before I want to meet these guys even before coming and I Want to keep talking with them after I came. So something that makes a lot of sense is to bring a really good platform from the, for the, the Time Chamber community so the, the whole people so they can connect inside and outside of this physical location. I think that that's just the thing that makes complete sense. So working on this.
Very cool. There's so much inspiration in the journey that you've been on. And I would love for anyone who watches this to consider the possibility that by taking the next step, maybe a lot bigger things can unfold.
Yeah, it's like purchasing the land and you don't really know what you want to do. If you feel like this is the right choice and this is the easing one step ahead in a good direction, just do it. And then when you have this step, then you get the momentum and then slowly things are gonna go in a good direction.
At the same time, you're working on the physical side, going on that, that journey, facing the languages, facing the chessboard. You also did piano quite intensively for, for quite a while. And I think people underestimate this stuff because it's like, well, I'm not going to make money from being a classical piano player, so why should I learned the piano? But it all feeds into the image that you have of yourself and impacts how you look at yourself and other things that you can create. I know when I meet someone who's great at violin, I give that respect. Sometimes people will say it like, almost embarrassed because feel like it's not valued in the modern world. If it's, if they're proud, if they're a programmer or if they're street banker or something. But like, if you're really good at art or you're chasing these, Continuing to develop these other areas of yourself as well is something that, yeah, it's not necessarily like you can make the logical connections and you can say, oh yeah, it's because you're using this part of your brain and this and that. But there's something deeper that goes with it as well, that, that makes it a different journey. And I, I would encourage to move, move towards those things as well. Like if you have the feeling of. I wonder what it's like to be able to play some piano. For me, it was a guitar in Latin America, Mexico, everybody plays a bit of guitar. And again, like, I'm not great at guitar now. Just like I'm not great at French, I'm not a French scholar. But there's something beautiful about these other journeys that are easy to dismiss. Or easy to look past. But I think it's also part of how we've done what we've done. And I see it with other men as well when they do these things, that doesn't make sense to the people around them, doesn't make sense to all the Internet business gurus just do this and you make this agency and then you get the money.
And yeah, for me it's always about like painting the, the picture of the guy you wanna become. And for me like yeah, a guy I can meet and that makes a lot of money but that's not fit at all. And just like cannot do 10 push ups. Just doesn't inspire me at all. So same like you said, like if he cannot speak any language then he's a native language. It's like okay, like you didn't even like make the effort to just learn one other language or something. And same for the instruments and the other things. Like when I meet a guy that makes good money and that free fits, can do so many things, really capable, can fight, can dance, can play music, can talk different language, can know how to build a house and it's like wow. It's like wow, like what kind of guy is this guy? Like was like I want to know, like I want to know who is this guy? And, and that makes me feel really inspired by, by these things here.
Lyndon always tells me I need to learn to build. My grandfather was a builder and my mother was very, she loved her father very deeply. And I remember sitting on the back of the truck like whacking nails into wood as like toys to entertain us. But that's about when my building journey stopped. I did a little bit at high.
School, but yeah, there is a lot of value also in, in building. Yeah, I love it. Like my father always been manual. Like he always walks, he rebuild many houses and stuff. So I was just helping some, some parts. And at the beginning when you're really young, he's just like, you don't want to go, I just want to play football, I just want to do other stuff. But now I'm really happy I got some, some basics. And now you really enjoy after just learning new things. And, and when you see buildings you just understand how it works, how they've put this and say wow, that's something crazy. Like I've never seen this kind of architecture and how long does it take to use this? And this kind of material is way harder than this one. And it's just like so much insights you can transfer on your daily life. Or so it's like everything. And like any skill, you just become wiser just because it's not because the house itself is. Just because you learn something new again and you can see the world in different ways. When I see the. The chalet here in. In Switzerland, they all wood. It's like massive wood. And it's like different. Different kind of food that can last really long and other parts, like all stones. And it's completely different process, different times or different techniques. And it's beautiful to see. To see all of this. Yeah.
Yeah. And this is one thing I need to experience. One of the things on my list now of guitar and juggling and languages. Build a. Build a house. We're going to put some little huts that are like €3,000 on the top of the hill in Montenegro.
Just small timber things even not like building the whole house yourself. Just like seeing the process and being there when like some construction walk and you see how they do and just like, like, just makes your brain walk and you say, okay, okay, I didn't expect it to be like this. And. And then you start to understand how it works, and then you can do it on yourself.
Yeah. If everybody had built a little hut that they slept in for a few nights, there would probably be less fear.
Yeah.
And you see it in Latin America. People just make something. It's plastic and this and that and.
Yeah. Teaches a lot. Like, I feel like for me, like, just building, just smaller. I don't know how you say in English like the caban. It's like you just build some stuff in wood. Just learn so much. Because at the beginning say, oh, it's fine. Just put a stick on wood. And then your stick of wood is, okay, so how do I make it work? Like how. When it's going to be wind, how. How is going to work? And then you start thinking naturally. Okay, I'm going to put something here. So if you push, it works. And then the foundation there, if I put it. Just 10 centimeter is not enough. So how do I put more? And then how. And then, then you just learn to make a house. Because at the end, it's just the same basics.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think these, all these experiences is the beautiful thing that's what's exciting for the years ahead. To experience them with. With the children, with other. Other guys from around the world. New locations makes looking to the future exciting. Where there was a time where the future was looking kind of dark, there's still challenges for. For. For mankind. You know, looking at the Big systems, financial system, education system can be dark and can be overwhelming. But there's things that we can do and there's beautiful experiences that we can have. And every day you can have those experiences. Maybe at some point you can't have those experiences anymore, but already I had 41 years where I got to have the experience that I wanted to have. So no point being fearful of, oh, maybe it's going to stop this year. Like, let's keep building. And yeah, I encourage everyone here to, to choose one of these things that they can jump into, whether it's building a chair or learning the juggling or learning a handstand or going to Bali or whatever it is. But there's, there's an action, there's an intent within each of us that comes out when we have these conversations of what would a good next step be. You're talking about now having the online community as like another step, another experience of you've been building that all these assets that you build is a beautiful, beautiful thing and the journey is part of the reward. Not just the fact of having it in the end, but going through it. So I want to thank you so much, brother. Like you, yeah, you, everything that you've done over the years, when I see, you know, snatching a big weight barefoot or learning your handstand or becoming a five ball juggler, then building your own app, like, it's always inspiring. And you did all of it much younger than me, around your age. Now is when I started to feel more capable and, and build, build a vision for myself, thanks to you.
Again because I, I say it often but like, for sure, like you never do anything alone. It's always because you have the, you can see other people doing it. And like I said every time people, when they say, like, do you, you have a mentor or something, you follow? It's like, even if we didn't work together, like calling every week, how are you gonna do? What is the next step? It's not really about this, just about like we said before, it's like seeing someone that's doing the things you want to do. And for me, I always remember when I was beginning of high school and it was the starting of the CrossFit and I felt like, okay, like CrossFit is a new thing. Maybe it's something that works. And I couldn't find anyone that was doing all of this stuff except you. I remember just when you were in Australia, the first time I saw a guy that was doing handstands, Olympic weightlifting, mobility, juggling, that could run, that could do all this stuff. And I feel like. And for me, it was the thing that just. That just gave me the power to say, okay, I actually can do this, because one guy is doing it. Because before it was like, nobody's doing it every time. You have to choose either your power lifter, your crossfitter, either. You're like track and field athletes. You cannot do everything. So I thought, okay, I might have to give up on this. And the thing is, there was only one guy for me that I found, and he was you. I remember. And that's the beginning of it. The beginning was just, okay, like. Like, now I can do it. So. And then it just started like this.
And it was Fred, Fred Master, who was. When he was in Australia.
So, yeah, I remember. And I also remembered, like, I didn't remember him there, but I remember a guy stalking French around you on videos. I was like, oh, it's a French guy there. So maybe I can go at some point so I can be the guy there.
This is it. Like, why One person by one person, living the dream, taking the next step. It opens. Opens the thing. And I feel like this is at the heart of it, what we're meant to be doing. It's at the heart of Barley Time Chamber, all the communities that I've built. If Fred went to Canada, he took a big risk before he was even making any money as a strength coach. He went to Canada to hang out with the strength coach because he went there. I wanted to meet him because I was interested in the coach that he went to see. And so then he became an intern for me at the Catalan Dragons. I wanted him to work. Work with me there. And because of that, then when I was in Australia, I invited him out for. For the camp, and he wanted to have the experience of traveling the world like you. Like, he took a break from rugby because he's like, I need to experience something else. So it's kind of like the butterfly effect of the. More men who decide to move towards the intent of the thing, that they just know they need to do something different. Like, it didn't make any sense for Fred to quit when he was at the top of a rugby team and everyone thought he was crazy. And then he went back and worked in pro rugby for. For another number of years. Now he has a little house in the country in the south of France, and he runs events there. And he built his dream life. And I'm sure, you know, he still has dreams, he's still aspiring, but by Fred chasing his thing, it kind of maybe connected a bit more deeply with you. Of like, okay, yeah, there's a French guy there. And maybe that can. Can be me in a way. And. And we do. It goes both ways. Like you doing the beautiful thing in Bali time chamber makes me think differently about what can happen with Vanuatu and what can happen with Montenegro, future locations or. So I think we all need this. And anyone looking. If you want the decision, the decision is just to step into challenges, step into unknown things without full logic or fully knowing what. If you're that kind of person, then we can do good things together. Like, that's the experiences. If you're too scared to do something where someone's gonna say, oh, he's silly for doing that, why are you juggling? Oh, you're clown. And then you stop. You put the balls down. Someone call me a clown? I'm putting the balls down. It's over. No, you know, just take the. Take the thing of, like, why are you doing that? That doesn't make sense. Nobody's gonna like it, whatever it is.
But, yeah, exactly.
You did in a beautiful way, man. And you're. You're continuing to do it. And. And I'm looking forward to the journeys ahead. Maybe we're going to have time to have our newborn babies next to each other in a few months. That's going to be a whole different experience compared to the stakes in Bali last time. I'm sure there'll be stakes too, but. Yeah. Thank you, brother. I appreciate your time there and sharing the journey. Look forward to connecting again soon.
Pleasure. Thanks a lot. And excited to meet you again in real life.
Second time.
Yeah.
