Skills, The Central Pillar | Part 2

Five skill domains build physical development: balance, balls, bats and bells, beats, and body awareness. The speaker walks through progressions like three-ball juggling, kettlebell swings, rope footwork, and handstands, showing how they overlap and support each other. Skills preserve function and offer a business model to teach and scale.

So we can always develop with balls. Being able to juggle well is a good foundational skill for the upper body. It's proven to really connect the left and right brains. There's a lot you can do with simply three balls. Mills mess getting good with two balls in one hand. These simple foundations can then progress into our five ball juggling. Three ball in one hand. The brain is getting sharper and sharper with foundations. There's a level of specificity, but there's a level of generalization as well. Like this carries across to anything. I catch stuff pulling out of the fridge randomly that I'm pretty sure I would not be catching if I wasn't a five ball juggler. If I wasn't consistently working on my hand, eye coordination, not playing any sports now, that I would just continue to have that. So we've got balance, we got balls. The next one is bats. So bats is about physical weighted objects. This is one that's less common. I also use a barbell. I got a barbell behind kettlebells. You mostly have some familiarity with the idea of bats. But we want to be able to swing an axe. We want to be able to swing a baseball bat. I played a lot of hockey, so the swinging thing, golf type swinging, something I did a lot of, but the other way, not so much. And my back is different on this side compared to the other side. So we want to be able to swing implements and we want to get better at coordinating the body with external objects. So that's the bats piece. I don't need to go too much into that. We've got courses about kettlebells, We've got courses about barbells. We've got courses about clubs and all the different things. So swinging objects. Another one that I like to swing, it goes up to being weighted as well. I've got some of the big ones over there. You can consider this as one of the bats as well. Or a belt, you know, foreign object that you work with. Highly recommend. The rope is really the one of the things that can cross over to all of the areas. Balance the thing I would say for getting started with the rope. And there's a whole course here about ropes as well. Focus at first more so on the footwork. This is a simple one. You can do. Swing in front of you and then swing it to the. To behind. Swing it to behind. This is with the rope going crossways. Swing it from the front. We want to focus more so on the feet. So I've got the feet going on the left. Some space here. If you're able to get the feet going in time, we use more of an athletic stance crouch. If we're able to get to these positions with some rhythm, that's our bats. I won't go too deep into the rope. If you haven't tested the rope, super highly recommend it. The next one. So we've got balance, got balls, we got bats. Beats is the next one. And rope is actually one of the best Beats things as well, because it gives us that boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. You might ask, why don't I just use a normal skipping rope? You can, and using a normal skipping rope's great. Skipping is, is a great exercise. The little bit more weight in the rope just opens it up to do more of this stuff. When you test it, then you'll understand. And then if you. You can bring the feet into it so it becomes something more coordinated. Hitting the bush, hitting my head. But you get the idea. It's. It's a whole new world of fun and good stuff. So Beats is. Is the fifth one, and this is getting to the roots of it. We want to be able to dance, gentlemen. The Spartans. Their number one thing was the ability to dance. If someone could dance, then they were probably a good fighter because you're able to change positions on a timing. That's what boxing is. You watch the best boxes when they're practicing. It looks like they're dancing kickboxes and such as. Well, you're able to get to different positions. So you want to use our strength work to build a foundation so that if we do hit, then it's. Then it's going to hit. It's not necessarily about combat, but this Beats area between being able to hold a rhythm. Right, right, left, right, left, left, right, left. Being able to do these rhythms paradiddle. Right, right, left, right, left, left, right, left, right, right, left, right, left, left, right, left. Have a go at these little things. There's a lot more for us to go into with beats and with playing with the left and right side of the brain. But these are what's going to keep us young, keep us sharp, just together with the optimal health protocols and a much more joyful, much more expansive experience of life. So, yeah, the beats. There's many ways we can do beats. We've got foot pattern drills. Oof. It's a big potential splinter there. And the last one is the body awareness or body weight. Okay, I did get a splinter. Not too bad there. Okay, so body awareness, body weight. We showed the handstands already. But you're being able to move the body around, being able to invert the body. So as you see, there's some crossover between these. A great place for body awareness to start. Like the rope, the ball is actually very versatile. We can do our drumming stuff with it gives us like a drumming different thing. We can do any of the kind of bouncing movements on the ball. It sort of works as a trampoline. Super versatile for giving us different balance stimulus. Initial challenges, kneeling on the ball, it's great. Juggling on the ball, it's great, yeah. Going from feet to knees, these kinds of things. There's a ton of work that we can do there. But then, yeah, the body awareness we can, we can roll onto the, onto the hip, onto the butt and this progresses. When you've got wrestling type flooring, you can progress into different types of roles across the ball, crash on the ground, basic body awareness, being able to do our cartwheels, different variations on this. Forward rolls, backward rolls, handstands are obviously in there for us. All this stuff, if you play around with it each day, if you really love cardio, do a minute of cardio and then do a minute of balance. Balls, bats, bells, beats, body rolls. I put bats and bells there together. You got your five areas, you can mix them in with your strength as much as you like. They do cross over. You will have a decent amount of strength just by working on your body awareness. When you do a lot of squats on the Swiss ball, if you can do 50 squats in a row standing on the Swiss ball, guarantee you you're going to be able to squat. Body weight on the bar. So these foundations go together. It's good to be able to jump on, jump off. There's more detail to go through in each of these areas. But this fundamental paradigm that your brain matters and that we want to be able to maximize skills along with strength and along with health, you're going to have the body composition that you want. This is a great way to do cardio. Instead of going for a walk, work on your skills. Instead of resting between sets, work on your skills. If you don't feel like doing your strength, work on your skills. Skills are always going to be there for you and they're always going to cheer you up. They're always going to be good for your brain. They're going to be great for you to pass on to your children, to your grandchildren. They're great to pass on to your parents and grandparents. There's a reason that skills have been erased from our culture, dancing circus is the most ridiculed physical development you can do. It's also the people who get paid to do something beautiful that other people want to watch. So consider this general base. If you love basketball, if you love soccer, if you love tennis, see who you become as an athlete. When you can do what I've just done here, I don't know of anyone who can do the athletic feats that I can do at the moment. I would like to change that. I would like to have hundreds, thousands of men around the world who engage with this system, teach it to others and it becomes that there's people who are much better than me across balance, balls, bats, beats and body awareness. At the moment, I don't think there's anyone who can beat me in all five categories. I'm looking to change that. If that's you, fantastic. If you know someone who wants to come on this path, that's aware of these things, get them to get in touch with me. I want to help other people who want to live this lifestyle, who want to teach this, who want to travel the world showing other people how to do this. There's a massive business opportunity with this. People are aware of fitness and body composition transformation. There's an awareness of blood testing and that sort of stuff. There is no awareness of the big one, which is skills. When your skills are good, everything else is good. So there's a billion dollar opportunity in this business and I'm looking forward to exploring it with you. Whether that's the billion dollar experience of life that you get from being skillful or whether you want to pursue the business side as well. With me.
