My name is Giles.
My name is Grant Bignall.
I'm Ben.
My name is Cody.
I'm Rykeel.
My name is Sebastian.
Mark Smith.
My name is Anthony.
I'm an ultra-marathon coach.
I joined the group a little while ago chasing a bit of direction and purpose.
I play football and yeah, joined the New Athlete Project about 8 months ago.
I came here for the New Athlete event with my family.
I've been bodybuilding for the last 10 years and went deeper down the biomechanics movement. Field within fitness, within training.
I have a surf coaching business where I work with about 40 or 50 local kids in the area.
I'm the Rope Flow Guy. I predominantly teach and also create flow ropes.
Yeah, without sounding too dramatic or cheesy, Keegan and, and Uncomm and New Athlete has undoubtedly been one of the biggest needle movers in my life in terms of going from somebody that was very stuck and confused to becoming someone that's actually confident in navigating life and doing the things I want to do to live the life I want to live.
First of all, it's a group. It's being part of something bigger than yourself for a start. I think we lose that along the way.
Yeah, New Athlete is way more than just a regular online course or program. There is programs within it, but there's so much more. Like, you're part of a group, a community, a brotherhood. Brotherhood even, like coming here, meeting you guys was like pretty seamless because everyone's pretty like-minded. And yeah, it does feel like a brotherhood.
This is my second event. I went to another event in Montenegro last year in August. That was a great experience, and that's really why I'm here for the second time.
3 years ago I picked up jiu-jitsu and it exposed all my weak spots. I realized that the bodybuilding made me too stiff. I could barely move.
And much recently, I found a lot of Keegan Smith's stuff, the New Athlete Project, a new paradigm of thinking about movement, which helps you develop skills and learn new things and maybe take that skill to the next level. It gives people a chance to have a win.
It's very interconnected, big system of ideas and thoughts and movement.
Yeah, New Athlete is like the antithesis of modern-day training modalities. There's no bias, there's no polarization whatsoever of my way of moving Shits on your way of moving. Like, there's none of that. It's like this beautiful integration of all these different philosophies and movement modalities.
Yes, it's good to have your beliefs and have an understanding of what's really worked for you, potentially clients, people, but that's not to say that the little thing you pick up from the next person is not going to be a massive value add for what you're already doing.
Broadening my knowledge through others from different backgrounds, different parts of the world, Yeah, it's only going to help, like, broaden my knowledge and become the best coach I can be for others.
You can't not learn something as a coach in U-Athlete.
I think we're not supposed to focus only on one thing, even though that thing is something that we want to do and it's going to make us great at that thing. We shouldn't be shy about trying other stuff that will eventually make us even greater at the thing that we're doing.
I started getting into the juggling, working on skills, and things other than just the physicality, and I started seeing progress and really enjoyed it.
More than anything, it's a combination between trying to push the needle with where things are at nowadays and also rediscovering what we've lost.
New Athlete combines a lot of the different dogmas and makes it an open thing where a lot of people share ideas of what's working. There's a lot of value in it. There's so much you can work on. If you're injured in one area, you can work on the other area, and it doesn't bring you back. It doesn't slow you down. There's no such thing as a setback here. That's all just progress.
At the end of the day, when you don't get exposed to many things and you don't understand different systems, you get— you can get lost in, in the, in the specifics and not understand there's— there is a, there is a general way we need to move, a general approach to fitness. And a lot of it comes from being able to integrate other areas of fitness into one.
It's all about a transformation. Once you start to notice the little changes, then you start to think about bigger athletic changes that you can incorporate into your life. Like, your goals become bigger. You start— the version of of yourself becomes bigger. So you're not so much thinking like small and just staying in your own little zone. Like, you come to places like this and you train so hard and you work with such great people that, yeah, your vision of yourself becomes unlimited.
Movement's one of those things that for me is almost a prerequisite to life, just because part of living is to move. And the way you think is influenced greatly by the way you move, and the way you move is also influenced by the way you think as well, right?
It is extraordinarily hard to change your life or change your mind with the mind versus on the other side of the coin to change your mind using the physical modality, this physical body that we have and all the real-time feedback that we get in this very moment. For example, ultramarathons, meeting a superior version of yourself, that is magical. And that is something that I think so many more people can tap into and should be tapping into, frankly.
Like I said, if you're stuck in systems, you're probably gonna thinking systems, in restrictive systems. Whereas when you get exposed to different methodologies of moving, different perspectives, that also expands your consciousness into other areas, whether it's nutrition, whether it's relationships, whether it's business, finance.
You—
the new athlete approach to fitness, you can also use it in the context for making money, you know. You can do it in the context of having better relationships. You build a broader spectrum of, of knowledge but also application.
It's very hard to be sad or depressed or, or feel sorry for yourself when you're consistently when you're consistently improving and progressively overloading for all the bodybuilders out there.
I remember a couple of months ago I made it through a level of juggling and I was so happy. Like, I was probably as happy as I've been in a long time. And like, that's so important for people these days.
There's someone for everyone within the New Athlete Project. There's, you know, there's guys that are really switched into business. There's guys that are tech. And on that, there's guys that are purely physical. There's young people learning their way in life. There's people with, life experience that have something to offer.
Through New Athlete, I can not only improve every aspect of my athletic ability, I can get expert business coaching, expert financial support, have resources from the absolute elite in every single field. If I've been struggling with something, an expert coach will reframe it for me and help me in a way to, to progress in that area, whether it's business or athletic ability.
When you come to one of these events, You come and express yourself, you come and express what you're good at, and by being around people who express what they're good at, you start to fill in a few blanks that you didn't have before, and so you become more confident.
I don't know that there's ever a subject here that you would know enough about to not find someone that could help you improve and be better.
There's no comparison between New Athlete and any other program. Like, all the athletic work is cutting edge, there's support around you know, brain health and brain development, and it encompasses every aspect of life with the best people in those fields.
If you're not getting challenged by your peers, if you're not getting challenged by your family, then you need to be in environments where you are getting challenged if you want to grow.
Oh, I definitely recommend joining New Athlete. It's a, it's a good space for growth here. If you're looking for growth, this is the place to be.
You're the best investment you're ever going to have. Buying gold and silver and Bitcoin and houses and whatever else you're going to buy with money, it's nothing on upgrading your self-image. The easiest way to upgrade your self-image is to be better, not to have someone try and convince you that you're, you're beautiful and you're capable, but actually to experience it in your physicality. I've invested a lot in myself and in physical locations to be able to give others this experience of experiencing something different physically. You're never going to regret being able to do dozens of new things and meeting others who are going down this path of exponentially expanding their athletic ability. You can pass it on to your children. You can pass it on to your loved ones. You can pass it on professionally as a coach or as an athlete at a high level. It's a small investment to make to be part of something very different that is guaranteed to make you different to who you are today.
All good.
Healthy diet only.
