The Ultimate Athletic System…

A coach in his 40s presents Uncommon Athletics, a training system built on five capacities: skill, speed, stamina, strength, and mobility. It pulls from CrossFit, powerlifting, and gymnastics, includes planches and animal movements, and comes with a 12-month plan and 25 tests. He's looking for coaches to help develop it.

Logically, there's a better way to train. To think that we've come up with the best way is arrogant, ignorant, very unlikely to be true. We know that to be an athlete, to cover our athletic abilities, we need to have skill, we have speed, we need to have stamina, we need to have strength, we need to have stretchability. So the big five capacities need to be worked on. I love doing bodyweight training, barbell training, kettlebell training. I want to be doing planches and front levers. I also want to be flowing into animal type movements, waving objects around. I want to be doing something with a racket, I want to be catching, I want to be throwing, I want to be kicking. And it can all fit within a program because athletes do it all. So some would say it's just too much, just so just throw it out. You can't do that. But CrossFit didn't just throw it out. They chose not to include skill, work and the coordination, sense of what you need for sports. They went their path and they did something beautiful, fantastic. I also love what Ido Portale has done. I also love hardcore powerlifting, weightlifting. So how can that fit into a system all at the same time? Some would say it's impossible. I don't think it's impossible. So that's what I'm going to lay out. I'm going to solve together with those who would like to solve it. If you would like to be part of the team who solves that and have a chat group based around it, I'm going to share ideas and concepts. We're going to lay out a 12 month plan that will work through these aspects. We're going to work on a system where it's all in the program at the same time and we're going to work on one that brings qualities in and out. It won't all be every day, it'll be a week long template and then, yeah, we'll have one system where it fits in all the time. I think that will be the core template of uncommon success, uncommon training, uncommon athletics. Because that system is very sticky. It works once you understand it, once you understand it for the rest of your life. Westside Bible did a really good job with that. They have the template, it's clear people can use it. Whether you like Westside or not, whether it's the best thing for powerlifting or not. They came up with something that can roll forward and so I think we need to take inspiration from that. But then there's a lot of places to take inspiration from it's going to be dense, it's going to use stretch strength. We could do these things very efficiently. And if we approach them intelligently now, not everyone will want to have these. These five capacities. Some people don't like being able to catch and throw and kick, or they just don't value it. Some people don't want to be able to do splits and things like that. It's fine. But for those who would like to be all rounders, we need a system that allows that to happen. You're still going to be able to handle a barbell very well. You're going to be very, very strong in short, partial ranges of motion. You're going to be sprinting. This is what I want for myself. I'm 40. I want to be a much better athlete. At 50, I need a template to do that. I'm ready to be more serious about that. Trained well, 30 to 40. I've done all sorts of things that I couldn't do before, but there's further to go. So if you want to be in on that discussion, let me know and maybe I'll put the link here or. Depends on where you see this. But, yeah, let's get to work, see what we can change. The fun is in the mystery and in solving that. And then this will. This program will be available commercially as well, but I'm looking to connect with coaches who want to have input on building this system out, and then obviously, any intelligence that comes from it, you can use in your own way, like with CrossFit. CrossFit had its core ideology of do this one thing each day. And then there became hundreds of other CrossFit programmers. We need people programming Uncommon Athletics around these five capacities. And we've got 25 tests that go with these five capacities. And that gives us a bit of a framework to set mankind's athletic future onto a new path. So if that sounds exciting to you, here is the opportunity of a lifetime. Welcome. Enjoy. Let's go.
