Nichole Briscoe and her team furnish a mobile home for transitional housing, shopping Goodwill and Habitat for Humanity to stock it with basics like bowls, pots, and a dining set. They buy new mattresses and bedding, add a washer-dryer and microwave, then stage everything with fresh paint and mounted TVs so tenants can move in ready.

Hey, y'. All. Y' all. Trying to see what I bought for this group home. What should I put in my group home? You're fully furnished. This. But what is needed? I got you mobile home. All right, y', all, welcome to part two of this, where we're taking our time and we are setting these units up. So we got this table from the Goodwill at a really good price, and we thought we could spice up these chairs a little by adding some cushions that match the kitchen. So we plan to do burgundy in this kitchen. So what we're doing is just setting the cushions up on the chairs. And this is just part two of getting this group home ready. Transitional housing, shared living, whatever you like to call it. Just a little bit more information about what it is we're doing. We're providing affordable housing to people in need that wouldn't be able to afford, like, a traditional apartment on their own. We're not servicing people that have any type of. We're not service. We don't provide services. So we're literally just renting out. Out a room. So far, the tenants I've had have either had a separation and they just needed a place to get back on their feet. I've had a gentleman that had a felony. Not all felons are the same guys. So he did qualify to live in this park, which qualified him to live in my home. But however, the felon he had for the parks that he were. Excuse me, for the apartments that he was applying to, they did not want him. So he had a good income. Okay. Credit. He just needs a temporary place to stay until he is able to live on his own by getting his own house, being able to afford that. So to be clear, when I say group home, I say group home because it's just a shared group of people living in the house. Sure, you can say share houses, transitional housing, if that's what you choose to. But we are just renting to people who don't, who aren't traditionally able to qualify. Hey, y'. All. Y' all. Trying to see what I bought for this group home. What should I put in my group home? You fully furnished, this. But what is needed. I got you. Let's start with the kitchen. So went to the Goodwill. These are the stores I visited today. I went to the Goodwill, I went to Habitat, and I went to Roses. My favorite of all three was Roses. Again, y', all, we're looking for stores and that carry closeout materials that are discounted stores. All right? So, for example, y' all, look at This. I went to the Goodwill and got this bowl set of eight bowls. It was. It was $8, and it was 75% off. Okay, 75% off. I got this from the Goodwill. I always try to go on days where they have Mondays. 75% off on glassware. That's what today was. Today was Monday. 75% off on glassware. And another day, they'll have a clearance on furniture. Come walk with me over here. Let me show you some more things. So we got some bowls. We have some pots and pans. Look at this. This pot was $2.99. And it's a sturdy pot, right? I want to make sure that the home has the basic needs for living, right? So I make sure my houses have can opener, microwave, nice pot and pan sets, casserole, things that you and I would need. I make sure they have sheet pans, glasses, and mugs. Again, all of these were $2 with 75% off. But. But this was my favorite for the day. You ready? How much? That say 0.20. It was 20 cent and it was 75 off. I told the lady, just don't even ring it up. Don't ring it up. Just give it to me. So in the kitchen, I want to make sure they have the basic necessities. Nice knives. We covered the, you know, the utensils, the glassware, the casserole, the can opener, the pots and pans, the microwave. When it comes to eating, what are they eating? On here is a simple dining room set that we got. Now, y', all, in the words of Chris Brown, please don't judge me. We're going to take this table, and we're going to stain it, right? It's going to look really nice when we get done. But this is another table that we got from the Goodwill. And for the table and the chairs, we got it for $65. 65. And like I said, we're going to restain this so this bad boy is going to look nice. We also got our basic mop and brush set. We have a toaster. I always like to start my units off with basic cleaning supplies to get them going. So I have Clorox, some dish soap that I purchased, some trash bags. I also purchased the trash can, but it's full of stuff that we got from the store just to get them started. I always purchase the iron. The iron I always leave on top of the refrigerator. That is one of my rules. Make sure it stays on top of the refrigerator so that when everyone needs it, they know exactly where to look for it at. And how about we move on to the bedroom? Oh, hey, y'.
All.
So we're in the bedroom. Cut it out. Y'. All. Don't focus on this. Focus on me. Focus on me. I told y', all, we a work in process. We gonna get blinds for it. But we just wanted to cover the windows so people could see what was going on. There's nothing wrong with the window. You see, it's fully functioning. We just need some blinds. And we put these up there. Hey, man. Okay, let's move forward. So now, y', all, we're in the bedroom. So here are some things that we buy from the bedroom. You know, I'm with my squad, Roshada and Aaron, they from elite squad number one. Okay.
The best in the business.
They. They were in my mentorship program under mobile home Elite investors. The best mentorship program. Okay. Roshada lives in Tennessee. Like I said before, Aaron lives in California, y'. All. Right? Now we are setting up the master bedroom. And the master bedroom, we just took off the mattress. The mattress plastic is a brand new mattress. Now, I'm gonna be honest with you. When it comes to buying bedding, I like brand new stuff. I don't buy used. I'm not buying sheets and quilts from the Goodwill. I buy brand new bedding. So we got our bedding from the. We got our bedding from roses, right, y'? All? Yep. It was a bed in a bag. It was like $30. The mattress. The mattress was brand new. I normally buy my mattresses off of Amazon so they can sh. Aaron, tell the people where you got your mattress from.
We got our mattress off of. We found, I guess you could say a wholesaler on Facebook Marketplace. She have a lot of brand new mattresses, box springs and the stands that goes on everything. So I got three rooms. Got it all furnished down her. And actually, Rashada got it done for me. I was just, you know, the middleman, and she got it done for me. So here we are getting it all done. And it's brand new. Like, we literally tearing it out. Plastics. It's going really well so far.
Cool, cool. So in the master bedroom, y', all, we. We have the bed set up. It's looking good. We are going to. I prefer to mount the TV on the wall. I think Aaron is going to get a TV stand and put the TV in the corner Again, this house is going to have basic Internet, possibly cable, or you gonna do cable or Netflix.
We following coach's step. We're not listening. Do not deviate. If it's not broke, don't try to fix it. Best coach.
Your.
Your favorite coach. Favorite coach. Don't let that go over your head. I'm following exactly what she do. She said basic. Basic Internet and Netflix. That's what I'm doing. I'm not getting cable. I'm not about to go straight over here. I'm staying right behind coach. She's winning. Guess what? I'm a win because I'm following her period.
I love him. He's so extra when it comes. So again, we're gonna have the basic bed in here. Now, you may be asking, well, where are they going to store their clothes? I'm glad you asked. Personally, I do not like dressers in my units. It's a mobile home, y'. All. The rooms are already not that big, so I don't want their space to be crowded. So I allow. I purchase hangers because each mobile home bedroom has a closet. They can hang their clothes. I do have some tenants that's like, I'm bringing in plastic bin. I have no problem with plastic bins. So we got the bed, we got the closet for the to hang up their clothes. We also. It's not in here now, but we put two towels and four washcloths for each bed. We differentiate the colors of the towel and the washcloths. We're gonna have the TV up, and then when it comes to the bathroom, I'm gonna let Ms. Rochada take over and tell y' all what we putting in the bathroom. All right, so we are just basically doing a brand new shower curtain and of course, a shower rod. We're also doing a brand new rug. As Nicole said earlier, we're doing fresh, brand new towels and we offering tissue. Tissue and paper towels and some hand soap to get them, hand soap to get them started. Is this good? Go up a little bit more. Okay. Short. So, y', all, when it comes to cleaning the mobile home, I like to get everything separate, set up and in place. I put the bed linen on. I get everything the kitchen set up the way I want it. And once I do that, what I do is I do buy basic cleaning supplies, but I hire someone to come in to do deep cleaning. But I will buy basic supplies just to get them started. I don't provide it long term, but I will get, like, dish detergent. Who doesn't want a good smelling home? I want when people walk through this home and figure if they want to get a room with me, I want it to smell like home. So I always buy these scent keepers and put one in the hot spots. The living room, the bathrooms, the bedrooms, etc. That is what I do. Each bedroom. Excuse me, each bathroom, I will put in some hand soap. Again, just to get them started. I also purchased a whole section six pack of paper towels. I purchased tissue just to get them started. So when they come in, you know, you ever moved into an apartment or your own house and you're unpacking all your furniture and you gotta use the restroom and you're like, oh, my gosh, babe, we don't have any tissue. So I try to get stuff so people can get started. Trash bags, just the basic things to get them started. Another amenity that I include is a washer and dryer. It is nothing like having a washer and dryer in your own home. I remember when I didn't have it and tote and clothes to the laundromat. That's one thing I did not like to do. So I always make sure that in this area that I include a washer and dryer in my unit. So the next question you may ask pertaining to the washer and dryer, how do you maintain the schedule of who washes on what day? Again, y', all, I'm gonna let you know, these are grown people that we are running to. They do not have any type of intellectual disability where they can't care for themselves. I don't provide any services. I'm just renting a room with amenities. That being said, I allow them the free choice to come up with a schedule of who's washing on what days. And in both of my homes, they know that person X washes on Monday, this person washes on Tuesday. And if they have an emergency, they communicate that with each other. Or, hey, I need to wash something. Is that okay with everybody? It's not my death. So far, it's been all good. It hasn't been any problems. Okay, y', all. So this is how we're ending the day. If you remember from the previous clip, we had the couch in the corner, but, you know, we had to get our creative juices going. Rochata, our interior designer, she helped us break. Break it up some. So here's what we did. We catty cornered the futon that we have. She's gonna. We're gonna also spray paint. Flo with me. We're gonna spray paint this table black. We're gonna spray paint these. This end table black. We're gonna add in some. Two pictures on the wall. We saw two at the at the Goodwill that we weren't sure about. They were 12.99 for a set of two. So we are gonna go back to complete our look, and we're going to make sure our TV is over here, mounted in this corner. Excuse me. Mounted on top of that TV stand. So it is slowly but surely coming together, guys. And we couldn't be more excited. Sam. All right, y'. All, this is the end to a very long day. We have been out here eight plus hours. We rearranged the living room, the kitchen. We've added some things. We got all our supplies in that we needed, but we're gonna end this day and go and get us some good food. It's a wrap cut cafe. The work is over. It's time to eat. Mobile home Mommy.
