What the fuck is energy gel, and why are you selling your firstborn to be able to afford these little packets? Today we're looking at these very weird and very expensive energy gel packs. This one is sea salt chocolate, which actually sounds pretty tasty, I'm not gonna lie. And this one is tropical fruit flavor, which is code for we don't know what flavor this is, but it might taste like citrus. And just so you know, these little packs, which are one-shot doses, cost R70 each. That's 3.5 loaves of bread for comparison. And this pack recommends that you have up to 3 per hour. All right, the first ingredient in this one is maltodextrin, and then water. Now remember, ingredients are listed in In order of largest quantity first. So after your slightly watered-down glucose paste comes fructose. Then it has some salt and some amino acids, but also 35 grams of caffeine. And this other pack is pretty much the same. Its first ingredient is also maltodextrin, and then water, and then fructose. Except this one doesn't have aminos in it. You know what? Just drink some maple syrup straight out of the bottle. Move to Canada and drink coffee that's 50% coffee and 50% maple syrup. Your teeth and your liver can have a competition to see which one fails first. If you want a real energy boost, look for these electrolytes on Takealot. There are packs of 10 and packs of 20. I promise I promise you, you will not regret taking this stuff. See you on the next episode of What the Fuck Is That? Because you deserve to know.
