A speaker's father gave them Asimov's Foundation at age six, teaching them that humans and machines work together. That early lesson shaped how they approach technology at work: focused on what it means for people, not the machines themselves.
of my dad introduced me to the golden age of science fiction when I was really young, 6 years old or so. I, the first book we read together was the Foundation series. By the way, not for young people or small children. There's a lot of stuff in there that doesn't go well, but it did teach me about this symbiosis between humans and machines. And what I loved about that story was that it wasn't about tech at all. Tech was there, it was kind of like in the air, the air we were breathing in that book, but it was more about humanity and it led me on a journey that made me ask much different questions on the teams that I was in.
