Technology now lets anyone build and demo solutions on the fly, not just rare engineers who could do both. Speaker B points to AI systems like Alexa as an example of this shift, and worries we're not paying enough attention to what it means when these systems listen constantly.

So, why does this moment in time in this particular tech feel so different than any other in the past from your perspective?
Yeah, I mean, it's different in the sense that I can show and not tell, right? I can be a doer, not a talker, and get rewarded for that. So, in, in the conversations in the past, the reason I was so successful was because I was an engineer selling to customers. And so, as an engineer, while I'm talking to a customer, I could understand their problem and then build them something in the context of the conversation. But most people who are having that conversation with a customer could not do that. So I became kind of like a unicorn having that skill. Today now, anyone, as you're talking, anyone can do that. I actually just did a TED Talk for Boston, and in the talk, the talk was called, I Taught Alexa to Speak, and Now I'm Worried That the World Isn't, you know, Focused on AI That Can Listen.
