Important lesson for young investors

Cody attended a Grant Cardone event in Miami and built relationships that led to a potential deal worth 300 times what he spent. He tells young investors to stop hesitating on networking events: the connections compound faster than the upfront cost, and creativity follows commitment.

Hey YouTube, this is Cody. Welcome back to this week's YouTube video. I'm actually filming this from Miami, Florida. It's a little bit different for this week, and I wanted to just share a lesson. Christian's actually in the other room, and he's not here to film today, so it's just me going solo. But I wanted to share this lesson I learned, and it's something that is reinforced by everything I've been saying in the past. If you've been watching these YouTube videos for a while, you know that everything that I do is built off of relationships. Everything when it comes from finding an opportunity for myself, for my clients, is all built off of building relationships. Christian and I were a little bit hesitant to come. We got invited to a Grant Cardone event very last minute. And we just, we didn't know what we didn't know. We didn't know what to expect out of the event. We've been to some before, but we were a little bit excited just to get out of our comfort zone, fly across the country, and go do something new. And what we learned from this is we met a lot of people, we got to build a lot of relationships, and really close relationships. I got to learn a lot of goals and targets people are working towards and how they're looking to achieve those goals and targets. And out of that, I got some relationships that are going to help me advance in my business. They're going to help. We're working on a refinance right now that would be a 300x return on Christian and my investment to come check this out. And so the message I want to share with you, especially if you're younger, it can be really hard to commit to spending money to go to an event. And it can be hard because you don't know where it's going to come from. Now, luckily, I've got rentals that help pay for coming to events. But if you don't and you're watching this and you're 18 years old, you're 19, you're 20, 21 years old, and you don't know where that money is going to come from. Creativity will follow commitment, and the connections that you get from these events will be worth it if you're going with the intention of building relationship. There are going to be people there, especially if you're a younger investor. Again, this YouTube is for everybody, but it's— I'm focused trying to help younger investors because I know there's not enough resources for you. If you go to these events, not just Cardones, but if you go to events where people are doing the things you want to do, you build relationships and you lend credibility to the fact that you are younger than everyone else in the space. You're just trying to get started. You're looking for that helping hand and you're willing to help others in the process. You're going to get opportunities other people don't get. So it's just another short video But for the younger investors out there that are watching this, prioritize relationships and don't be afraid of spending a little bit of money to go to these events. Your ROI will compound for many years to come. I promise if you do this, you're going to get value out of it. So don't be afraid to spend money on yourself. Don't be afraid to trade money for connections. I've shared this in past videos, but My experience over these past few days in Miami has reinforced that. And this is another solo video. Christian will be back in two, in two days, whatever day that is. But stay tuned and I'll see you guys next time.
