Christian Osgood spends the night in a unit he's renovating in a 38-unit building that was once a homeless camp with severe septic and safety problems. He believes living in the space himself ensures it'll appeal to tenants. The unit now has marble countertops and new appliances, though some work remains.

Hey YouTube, it's Christian, and tonight we're here at the 38 Plex. We're going to be spending the night on site in one of our newly renovated units. The reason we're doing this is we have a belief that if you create a space that you're willing to live in yourself, it's going to be a place that your tenants would like to live. Now, while I don't want to live in this small of a space with my family, if you're an individual tenant, you're staying here for a shorter period of time, you're a single person, I just want to see what it's like to spend one night in the life of our tenants at one of our roughest buildings. If you've been following along, this building started off with a homeless camp on it, massive septic issues, creepy people in the basement. There's a lot of work that has gone into this. We're not done with the project yet, but we have a few finished units. We figured we would stay over here and see what it's like so you guys can get a view of this. Today's unscripted. This is our Completed unit. We got the sinks, marble countertop, new appliances. Fridge is still old, we gotta fix that. I found a Cody. Hello. We've set up a couple air mattresses here, blocked off the window. It's not the Ritz, but this space is really, really cool. I am really happy to be here. We're really excited. I'm being attacked by a ring light. This is an impromptu video for us. I know we usually have a recorded thing on Monday, but we spent the whole day working and making it out here, so just wanted to share this. We'll post this— if you're watching, it's probably Tuesday morning— and, um, we'll talk to you guys soon. Join us for Whiteboard Wednesday. Like and subscribe. We're sharing the whole adventure with you.
