Omni-Presence Marketing, What in the World is That??

Podcast episode from Pamela Jean's 'A New Life' discussing omnipresence marketing for small business owners. Pamela defines omnipresence as creating a consistent, visible presence across online and offline channels tailored to a clearly defined Ideal Client Avatar (ICA). She outlines practical tactics — website optimization and mobile-first design, SEO (long-term), content marketing (blogs, video, podcast), targeted social platforms, email marketing, paid ads and retargeting, networking, collaborations/B2B partnerships, community engagement, consistent branding, customer reviews/testimonials, analytics and iteration — and stresses focus, consistency, and aligning channels with the ICA rather than trying to be everywhere for everyone.

Now, many of you know that I've been in business for over 34 years. I started a new division in my company of coaching about eight years ago where I'm a business coach and a life coach as well. I help people create a balanced life and a balanced business. Because if you're a business owner or at a high level career position, you know how hard it is to balance both of those things. It can be so, so tricky. I had the honor of speaking at an event the other day, an event put on by Liliana Gulo. She is with Lily Chris Photography. And Lily Liliana is a branding portrait specialist. She's amazing. If you're looking for someone to guide you in branding portraits and help you with creating monthly images for your content, she is the person that you have to meet with. She had a content creation night earlier this week and she has one coming up in April as well. So you'll definitely want to keep your eyes and ears open for that. You can't miss it. It's just fantastic. You have to be there. But what I got to do was present to a group of, I don't know, 50, 45, 50 people, business people, about coaching and how important coaching is. You know the thing about hiring a coach, a business coach and a life coach, your coach can see things in your business or in your life that you can't see. That's one of the biggest benefits. But one thing I mentioned in my talk was omnipresence omnipresence marketing. And the feedback that I received from the guest is what is omnipresence marketing? So I thought that would be a great topic for us to talk about today. So that is where my focus is going to be. And, you know, looking through the feedback that I received from the guests and visitors that that came up and talked to me. Some of the biggest concerns with your companies and businesses are systems, keeping track of your schedule. The other one was how do I scale, Keeping consistent clients, growing a client base, vision, getting confused and lacking vision, simply feeling stuck, and lastly, a limited mindset. Oh my gosh. All of those things that I just mentioned can be mitigated through coaching. So if you don't have a coach, find one. If you want to talk to me about coaching, I would love to have a conversation. Our first conversation is a discovery chat. There's no charge for that. I need to make sure that I can help you with whatever your problems are, and if I have solutions for them, we'll talk about working together. If not, I'll refer you on to someone else. But it's important that you get a coach because your coach will see things that you don't see in your business. First of all, omnipresence marketing, what that means is building a presence in your business marketing that is a consistent and visible presence across various online and offline channels. One of the first things that you have to know before you even consider anything about an omnipresence marketing concept for your business is, first of all, who is your client? Most of us don't work with everyone. I mean, if you have a giant store like Target or Walmart, they serve everyone but a small business owner. We don't serve everyone. We usually have a very specific group or demographic of client that is attracted to our products and services. So first of all, who is that person? What does that family look like? The things that you would have to know is everything from their social aspirations to where they spend their time, where vacation, what kind of cars they drive, what type of technology do they enjoy, where do they shop, where do they vacation, what causes and philanthropies are important to them. Knowing every intricate detail about your ICA ideal client avatar is really, really important. When we work together, I have a full series of a client avatar discovery workbook. That workbook will guide you to be able to pinpoint exactly who you need to talk to. So once you know your ica, your ideal client avatar, then you can look at avenues of being omnipresent in that person's life in their day to day life. So first of all, it's important to build a strong online presence. Website optimization, of course is very important. Ensure that your website is used, friendly, mobile, responsive and has a robust SEO. SEO, search engine optimization is one of those things that. Friends, I just want to tell you SEO is a marathon, it's not a sprint. You're not just going to dot the I's and cross the t's and boom. Your SEO is perfect. It's a process. It's where you start, then you, you massage, you make it better, then you start again and then you continue to make it better. And over time your SEO will optimized. But it does take time. Don't be in a hurry. There's nothing about being a business owner that is a sprint. Honestly, if you can just get that through your brain right now, there is not a get rich quick scheme out there that will happen. It just it. It isn't. And you don't want to have your growth so fast and furious that it's not sustainable. So truly, business ownership, SEO, everything about business for the most part, is a marathon, not a sprint, my friends. But make sure that your website is user friendly. Make sure that your colors and style and flavor of your website matches the desires of your ica. Because if I'm going to be marketing to a teenager and I want to be marketing, do I want my website to look like a 50 year old would like it? No. You have to be in tune with what a teenager would like out of a website. Very clean, very simple. Make sure you know exactly who you're speaking to when you design and create your website. And honestly, your personal feelings and opinions about your website probably don't matter because you may or may not be your ideal client. What we like personally isn't necessarily what our clients or ICA is looking for. Content marketing, which would be through your different social media areas. Make sure that everything is very high quality and valuable content regularly. This includes your blogs, videos, infographics and more in social media. Be active on a key social media platform that's relevant to your business that is also in line with your ica. If your ICA is not people on Instagram, you know, then then don't promote there. Then you don't have to worry about really funneling a lot of energy there. Know where your ICA lives on the Internet. And friends, it's possible that your ICA isn't even on Facebook or Instagram. They may not even be there if that's the case, you're not going to necessarily have to channel a lot of energy into those social media platforms. I think there's a little bit of a misguided because people feel like, well, I've got to be on social media, I have to do this, I have to do that. Not necessarily now. Everyone in business should have a presence there because people will use Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, other search engine ideas to find your business. So you have to have a presence there. But your ICA may not be one that is going to be on Facebook all day that will ever see your posts or your ads or Instagram ads and posts. So be sure you have that mitigated. I work with a lot of very successful high end companies and business people. Most of them are too busy in their businesses. They're not on social media, they're not on Facebook, they're not on social of Instagram. So if you look at my social media posting, I don't post a lot there, I have a presence there, but I don't post a lot there because that's not where my clients are. Most of my clients find me through my website, they find me through SEO, private referrals and my podcast. So that is where a lot of my marketing energy goes into sending out emails, having a good website, and also producing fantastic content through my podcasts. So you have to know where your ICA lives on the Internet to know what type of platform that you want to start marketing to. Email marketing is another component of having that omnipresence. And omnipresence means being everywhere your ICA is. So if your ica is on LinkedIn, they see you on LinkedIn. If they attend certain galas or functions, you attend those certain types of galas and functions, they get an email from you, they've seen you doing speaking, they've heard you on a podcast. So the omnipresence means to be wherever your ICA is. Not in an annoying stalkery kind of way, but just having that alignment with them that when they're looking for your product and service they will oh, I see her everywhere. He's everywhere. That's who I want to use for heat and air. That's who I want to use to buy my car, that's the Realtor I want to use to buy my house. Because I see them everywhere that I'm at. It's about building community with your ICA and becoming part of their community in a genuine, kind and non pushy way. It's all about building that relationship. So make sure that you have just a recap, a great website, awesome content with blogs, podcasts, videos, whatever content you're putting out. Social media presence wherever your ICA lives on the Internet, a good marketing, email marketing campaign and process and system. You may have to do some paid advertising depending on your ica, but again, that's where that omnipresence comes from. Utilize an online advertising platform like Google Ads, Facebook ads, LinkedIn ads, as long as your target audience is in those different arenas. Now, video marketing can be really, really effective as well. Leveraging video content on platforms like YouTube, there's Vimeo, there's several other different options for video, but have really good video content. That's important too. And incidentally, I don't know if you knew this, but YouTube searches is one of the top. What I want to say, you know, Google search, search engines, excuse me, YouTube is one of the top search engines right next to Google. So spend some time on working on some videos and create some videos to advertise and sell your business. Podcasting. Start a podcast and share industry insights, interviews and valuable content. I started my podcast probably, I don't know, a couple years ago and oh my gosh, it is the best. I love podcasting. It is a great way of getting out messages to my community and I fully enjoy that engagement. So it just allows you to reach them through a different medium and it also allows your ideal client an opportunity to get to know you in a little bit of a different way, a little bit more of a safer way that feels less intrusive and just an easier way to get to know you, which is really fun. So start a podcast. If you need help with that, let me know. I can guide you through that process. Because truly, friends, if I can do a podcast, I know that you can do a podcast. So I have faith in you. Networking, networking and attending industry conferences, seminars and networking events. Connect with influencers and other businesses to expand your reach. Now, when you're looking at networking, this is what's really important. That if you're looking at going to a conference, make sure that your ICA is going to be there. If you're going to a local networking event, make sure that their target market is the same type of person that you want to work with. Again, that feeds back into that omnipresence of just simply being a little bit everywhere. Collaborations is really important. Partner with other businesses or influencers for cross promotion. It's B2B. Business to business to marketing. Align with a business that goes after and has the same ICA that you do. Think about it. If you align with, you know, let's say you're a photographer and you want to align with an orthodontist. Make sure your orthodontist has the same ICA that you do. You're not going to go to an orthodontist that's like the cheapest in the room. Unless you're the cheapest photographer in the room, then your ICA is going to line up. If you have a relationship with a flower shop and you work in the wedding industry, make sure that it's a flower shop that aligns with your values and aligns with who your ICA is. You would be a perfect match to work together. So business to business marketing is an awesome way of building and growing your brand, your awareness, as well as your omnipresence. Community engagement. I can't stress enough about being engaged in your community. I focus more on private referrals. And anytime I'm out in the community and meet people, I almost always have an opportunity to talk about coaching and what business coaching and life coaching and helping people create balance in their lives. I always have an opportunity to have a conversation about that because this person knows this person who knows another person. And everyone needs a coach. It's not rocket science. Everyone really needs a coach. So it's, it's an easy thing for me to talk about. But whatever your your superpower business is, everyone in the world needs what you have. Align yourself in those right community engagements to be able to talk about your brand and your business and, and what you have to offer them. Consistent branding is really important. And I see a lot of businesses out there get a little bit confused, I think, on what their brand is. If you think back to like Pepsi and Coke, those companies have not changed their colors or their brand in many, many, many years. Their colors have not changed from inception. So that's one thing that's part of their brand is what their color is. And the red on Coca Cola is a very version of red. They never deviate from that. Same thing with Pepsi. Now you'll notice over the years where each of their logos have been brought up to a more current look and style because you can look back and think of the vintage Pepsi logos and the vintage Coke logos, but essentially their branding has not changed. It's maybe updated a little, but they have not changed. And I think sometimes, and I'm a creative person, so I definitely have been guilty of this over the years, I see something new that I like. It's like a shiny Thing I'm like, oh, I want to use that font, I want to use that color. I'm going to change this, I'm going to change that. And honestly, that is not being loyal to my brand and the original brand that I created. So you should stick with your brand and keep it very, very consistent across every single platform. Whether it is a name badge that you wear to an event, your website, your social media, your emails, everything should be in alignment. So if someone sees something that is about you, that's out into the marketplace, they know it's you. That it's not. Okay, is this the same person? There should be no confusion because you keep your brand consistent. Okay. The next thing is to really seek out customer reviews and testimonials. If someone has never worked with me before, I want to be able to provide them with some feedback from some of my clients so they step into the confidence of, you know what, so and so had a good experience with her. I'm going to give it a shot as well. Have some customer reviews and testimonials on your website. Have them on your, on your Facebook pages, wherever you're communicating with your clients, make sure you have those reviews. Reviews and testimonials are so easy to attain from your client base. All you have to do is ask. That's it. That's all you have to do. Most of your clients are going to be very willing to give you feedback as long as you're providing incredible service and product for sure. Okay, so retargeting. What does retargeting means? Implement retargeting ads to remind users of your products or services after they visited your website. So if someone comes to your website but they don't make a purchase or they don't inquire, reach out to them and retarget them with an ad or an email or a phone call or something to keep them engaged. You may not have gotten a initial conversation with them the first time they visited your website, but you can reach out to them and just start a conversation and stay in front of them and remind them about your business. Having a mobile presence is very important. How many times do you look up a website on your phone versus your laptop or your workstation? I mean, I do so much from my phone now. If you have a website that's not been optimized for your cell phone, it just drives me bonkers. So keep it simple. Make it very easy to navigate. One step clicks, one step buttons. Don't make me have to go through. Click here, click there, click there. And then come back here. It has to be easy or people will get bored and they're going to move on from you. So keep it simple. Keep everything that they need right in front of them. Don't make them dig and search for anything that that they might want or need. When it comes to your business and analytics and optimization, regularly analyze the performance of your marketing efforts. It's important that you review everything that you've implemented and put into place. If you are doing a Facebook ad or a Google Ad, analyze the data on each of those ads. Analytics are there for you to use. Look to see at perhaps on a Facebook ad, this picture got more traction than that picture. That's information. Make an adjustment, make a shift and start again. Analyze your data, analyze yourself and see where you may have missed the mark or where potentially a disconnect is with your audience. Friends, I can tell you omnipresent marketing 1000% works. One of my clients recently just said I had no idea what you were talking about when we first had our conversation of omni presence marketing. But after doing it for the last six months, it is unbelievable how effective it is. So before you start any new marketing message, I want you to stop and think about this. First and foremost. Will my ICA be in this space? Does this speak to my ica? If I spend invest my time going into this event, will my ICA be there? Will this networking opportunity include my ica? Will this ad work for my ica? So every marketing decision you make has to ask that question, is my ICA going to live here? So just to recap really quickly, first and foremost you have to have a very well defined ICA 1000%. That's where it starts. Then analyze and figure out all of the areas socially, online, restaurants, entertainment, concerts. Think about every place that your client is going to live and exist and plug into those same spaces where you can create that presence of There she is again, There he is again. And being present in their world and be in front of them. So think about your community engagement, how you can plug into those areas where you will be amongst your ica. It's very important for your business growth. My friends. I hope that this has been really helpful. You know, remember, omnipresence doesn't mean being everywhere for everyone. That's a really important factor. It doesn't mean being everywhere for everyone. Focus on the channels and platforms that align with your target audience and your business goals. Those, those are important too. Obviously consistency is vital. Regularly update and refresh your content, your website and every other area that you communicate to keep your audience engaged and stay in front of them. My friends, I hope you enjoyed this podcast. I hope the omnipresence concept is no longer confusing because it may have been before we started today, but it was one question at the event I spoke at earlier this week that people were like, what does that even mean? I want to know more. So now you know more. If you're interested in connecting and would like to know more about omnipresence and how we can make that happen for your business, just reach out to me.
