Dr. Irizarry-Roman | Stem Cell Specialst on MDLifespan's Longevity Team

Dr. Moise Irizarry-Roman, a stem cell specialist, discusses why preparing patients before stem cell harvesting matters more than the procedure itself. A patient's inflammation, toxins, and nutrition directly affect stem cell quality. Same-day treatments are rare because the real work happens in the weeks before.

Hello, everyone. I am Dr. Paul Savage. I am the founder of MD Lifespan, and I'm here today with Dr. Moise Irizarry, a old friend and excellent colleague that we've known for. I've known for over a decade now.
Yes. Almost 12 years.
Yeah. Moise and I met. Dr. Irizarry and I met.
When we were doing the stem cell fellowship. I was a student, he was a professor, and we've had a great relationship over the last 12 years working together. It's been amazing to watch the people who need stem cells get stem cells by somebody with Dr. Irizarry's qualities, his expertise and his experience. And quite honestly, I don't know anyone in the field that's done more years and more stem cell procedures than Dr. Irizarry.
Thank you. I'm humbled. And, you know, it was a great experience the moment we met. The fact, I mean, to see doctors wanting to advance the science, doctors wanting to do something that's different for the patient, that is what truly medicine is about.
Yeah. This is amazing that so many people coming into the regenerative space of medicine come from the traditional field, bring with it all the values of the traditional field, but start layering on top of it more areas that people don't know about that can actually expand their health and their longevity quite significantly. I would say in the 10 years that we've known each other, we've done hundreds of stem cells. And of those patients, we have an extremely high rate of success simply because we prepare the patient for the process. What that means is frequently we have clients who've come to see us after they've had stem cells done somewhere else, and they said they just didn't get a good result. And the reason was they weren't ready. Their physical state was in a state of inflammation. They had toxins going on, their nutrition was off. And quite honestly, in as little as two weeks, we can reverse that process to such a degree that the stem cells that we're harvesting are much more healthy and potent. Patients don't know, and we try to educate everyone that the stem cells you have are exactly the same in state of health as you are. So if you're not in a good state of health, the stem cells aren't in a good state. What's been your experience with people who've been prepared or people who've not been prepared?
I completely agree with you many times. I mean, patient choice is very, very important. And we can't simply think this is educating the patient. We can't think you could just gonna walk inside the door and we're gonna, okay, let's do put stem cells in whatever joint and it's gonna magically fix your body. We need to see where you are. Stem cells are like the building blocks of. Of your body. And we are working with the building materials you're giving us. So if you come up, come to us, and you're giving us, you know, torn wood, that's what you're going to inject back in your body.
Exactly.
So it's important to optimize to make sure your health is at the optimum. It is rare, the time when a patient comes in and they get treated the same day, we say, no, no, no, no, no. This is a process, right?
Yeah. I can't think of us ever doing one on the same day. Maybe very seldom, very far view apart. The process is actually quite simple. After you contact our patient service advisor, they get you into an appointment with me, and I'm evaluating your health and wellness. And it may be very short conversation because a lot of our patients coming to see us are very healthy also as well. People who've been my patient for a long period of time who now develop the need for stem cells, they're already optimized on their health. But we're going to spend time with you to make sure that your body and your physical state is in the optimum state. So that when we do start looking into the stem cells for you, we know what we're going to get at that point.
At the moment you get the most optimum result, which in the end is what you want.
Right. One of the amazing things with Dr. Irizarry is we've had patients where he said, not the right time or not the right procedure. So we're not doing it on everyone. We're really trying to select out the people that do the best. And I think that's one of the reasons we have such a high rating of review and such a high rating of success as well.
