Hi, I'm Dr. Paul Savage. I'm the founder of MD Lifespan, and I'm here today with one of our team members, Dr. Peter Scholz. Now, Dr. Scholz is a chiropractor that I met. Boy, must have been at least 10 years ago now. It was through a mutual patient that actually came to see me after having seen him. And I'd already been in practice and longevity for 15 years by that time, and have always had difficulty up that time finding a chiropractor that shared my passion with longevity, because that really wasn't what you found into the chiropractic world. So then we struck up a conversation and. Well, tell the audience more about how you and chiropractic and longevity came into being.
Yeah, absolutely. Thanks for having me. So I've been in practice for about 18 years now, started the practice in 2005. And from the beginning, I was always trying to work on helping keep people mobile and keep them moving. That was always super important. And when people have injuries and pain, you can always decrease some inflammatory cycles, things like that. But getting them moving along into a more mobile state where they can do anything they want without pain or orthopedic injuries, that was always what I was really interested in doing. And then exercise and movement activates all of these longevity pathways that we've learned about in the past three or five years. Even that research has been improving on.
Well, I mean, one of the things we've known about longevity for quite some time is that when you stop moving, death catches you.
Right.
Similarly, with the fractured bones and fractured hips.
Exactly. The percentage of people over 65 who fracture a hip and are dead within two years is disturbingly high.
It is. So it's not just about taking care of you after you break your hip or after you do your joint. It's all about the prevention beforehand, about doing the things that we want you to do so that you can actually be mobile. Well, it's all about flexibility, it's about strengthening, it's about mobility in itself. Most of the patients come to see Dr. Schulz through referral by me directly. But if you actually want to reach out to Dr. Schulz and have him talk to you about any of your conditions, you can find his email on our website page.
