Exploring Toxins and Longevity Therapies: An Interview with Dr. Paul Savage on Central Valley Today

Dr. Paul Savage, founder of MD Lifespan, explains how environmental toxins drive chronic disease and immune problems. He describes a urine test that detects toxins at home, and discusses therapeutic plasma exchange, which he compares to an oil change for removing toxins and potentially reversing aging markers.

Welcome back. Our next guest is a leader in longevity medicine. He is the founder and CEO of MD Lifespan, which provides advanced testing, longevity therapies, and virtual medicine nationwide. So with us now is Dr. Paul Savage, founder and CEO of MD Lifespan. So, Dr. Savage, thanks for being here. Let's talk about. We're talking about toxins. So what are the health risks associated with. With high toxin levels?
Well, you know, Emily, thank you for having me on the show. And I want to tell you and the audience, toxicity is a new smoking. So having been in this field for 30 years, for a long time, I really didn't see people getting a lot of toxin tests positive. But in the last 10 years, everyone in the United States that we tested is positive. The question is which ones and how high? So a lot of these patients come in, they don't have any symptoms at all. It's just that that's part of our routine because eventually everybody knows the toxins are in our environment. Everybody agrees that they have some degree of toxins in themselves. And everybody knows that at some time, in some degree, these toxins are going to give them some medical issues. So we're getting in front of that by testing the toxins on all the various people that come to see us.
And what do you see? What are the symptoms or health issues associated with finding and identifying these toxin levels?
So if you look at the way toxins work in the body and they affect every part of your metabolism, they're actually a part of every chronic disease that we now have in the United States, compounding and making them significantly worse, whether it's heart disease, Alzheimer's, cancer, every type of disease that we have is associated with toxicity. And as well, the toxins, such as suppress your immune system, which leaves you open to all these new infections that come across the United States seems like every year now.
And so what type of testing should people have to detect their toxin levels?
So the test that we like to do for our patients is a simple, affordable urine test that they do in the comfort of their own home. It's just very simple. They pee in a cup in the first part of the morning, put it in an envelope, sell it to the lab, and about three weeks later, we have all the results that we can discuss with over hundreds of toxins with each report.
Can you explain to us what exactly is a toxin? Because I actually see many people, you know, maybe people who are not as qualified as you talk about this. So what is a toxin?
So a toxin is anything that enters the body that is foreign to the body and causes damage. So you can have like a virus or bacteria, could be considered a toxin, organic type of toxin. But what we're really looking at here is over the 150,000 new chemicals that the government has introduced into our environment. And all of these find their way into our water supply, our food supply, and into eventually us themselves. Whether it's pesticides or insecticides or chemicals or volatile hormones, or even these forever chemicals that get into the body. And they're very difficult to get out until recent developments on new methods of getting these toxins pulled out of people's bodies.
Okay, so what you're talking about there, you're a leading advocate in a treatment called therapeutic plasma exchange, or tpe. So what is TPE and how does it reduce toxins in the body?
So plasma exchange has been in medicine for over 50 years. And the process is kind of like an oil change for the body. What we do is we put the person on an iv, the blood is extracted out. The blood is spun into two components, the plasma, which is the liquid part, and the cells, which are the red blood cells and white blood cells. We return the blood cells to the body with saline, which is salt water, and a protein called albumin. And then we take the plasma and we dispose of it. Within 24 hours, the body generates new, fresh, non toxic, non inflamed, non contaminated plasma. In other words, you build new oil within a day. And in this way, we can remove up to 70% of these toxins with every procedure. Now, some of these toxins are pretty high level in most people, so it may take 2, 3, 4, or even up to 5 of these to start seeing a reduction in the toxins. But the research we've been doing with our cardiologists, our head of toxicology, and our researchers, we've seen dramatic changes in virtually all of these toxins across the board for up to 50 to 90%. And this has previously been unheard of in medicine, because one of the reasons that traditional medicine and doctors don't talk about toxicity is because previously they've been very hard to remove. But with this new procedure, we're seeing a new light shed on the area of toxicity and removing them from people before they can cause the damage that we know they will do.
Yeah, the research that you mention and that you reference is really interesting. You talk about reversing biomarkers of aging, you talk about some really interesting stuff. So where can viewers go to get more information about everything that we talked here today.
So the people can get a lot more of this information about us and what we're doing from our website@md lifespan.com and, in fact, they can get a lot of information about what we're talking about. The toxin kits, where to get those, the toxicities, and the plasma exchange treatment itself by going to news.md lifespan.com.
CTV as in Central Television Valley.
Okay, we will put the link online. We had it right there at the bottom of the screen. We'll put it online. Dr. Savage, thank you so much for being here today.
Thank you so much.
