It's how you get people to actually start to trust your brand. Yes, more than social media, you're actually six times more likely to get a higher click through rate through emails instead of Tweets. Email is 40 times more effective at acquiring new customers than Facebook or Twitter. But once you have the attention of those new customers, how do you get them to actually follow through? Here's some ways that you can use email, new content and social media to make sure that those new customers join your email list. 1. Encourage subscribers to share and forward your emails. To expand your email database, include social sharing buttons in an instant email to a friend button on all of your emails. All of them, each and every one of them that you send. By doing this, it will give you access to possible leads with people who receive these forwarded messages. So if the person you emailed isn't necessarily feeling the content or better yet is, they can share it with someone else who also love that same value. 2. Segment your email list by buyer Persona at a high level. Segmentation is breaking up your contacts into smaller groups of similar people. Email recipients are more likely to click through emails that cater to their specific interests. So segmenting your email list into different categories will allow you to send tailored messages. If you create multiple targeted subscriber types, you'll increase the chance that visitors will subscribe to one of them. Marketers who use segmented campaigns noted as much as a 760% increase in total revenue. Record a video and give it away for the cost of an email signup. This is what we like to call video lead magnets. A lead magnet is something that you use in order to generate more leads for your mailing list. Essentially, you're offering something that your audience would find very valuable, but in order to access it, they'll have to sign up for your mailing list. The offering in this case would be a video series. Internet users are very, very busy and we are all looking for fast and very efficient ways to solve problems and upskill very quickly. And with 54% of consumers wanting to see more video content from a brand or business they support, this could be a perfect way in. If you offer access to a string of useful video content, you up the overall draw for the customer who now feels like they're getting all of this delicious problem solving value. For the low, low cost of an email signup, which they are, think of a mini series covering a specific topic or a guide walking them through the solution for a specific problem they may have. 4. Create a blog with personalized CTAs A clear CTA makes it easy for the reader to do exactly what you want them to do. Create an account, request a quote, Enter this contest, sign this petition. No friction. No hunting around for info. It's that button or link that kicks off the next step in your funnel. And if you can attach that ask to a compelling blog article that people want to engage with, you're setting yourself up for some major gains. If you're completely lost on how to even go about starting a blog with those compelling topics I was just talking about, make sure to check out our blog on how to start a blog as well as our free blog topic generator that will help you win Creative block hits.

HubSpot grow better. 5. Create a free online tool or resource that requires signup Free online tools make your users lives easier. It's a fact of life, especially if all they have to do is sign up with their email address to get access to it. For example, we've created a few free tools like our Website Grader, Email Signature Generator, SSL Checker and Invoice Creator, all geared towards solving a specific pain point while gathering email addresses. With that said, when creating these tools, try to focus on the problem being solved as the inspiration for the tool that you create now. Number six Create an online contest. Use your social media accounts to host a free giveaway that requires contact information to enter. You can encourage your followers to click through to your website and sign up using their email addresses. Contest emails have an average open rate of 8.8%. That's 5.5% more than the general average of commonly used email marketing campaigns. Number seven Convert some of your popular content into gated content. From blog posts to ebooks, chances are you probably have plenty of high quality content that you are just giving away from for free. If you really want to grow your email list and boost engagement, try restricting some of your highest performing content so that it cannot be accessed unless a user enters their name and or you got it email address. Number 8 Clean your email list. On average, 99% of people check their email every day. However, that does not guarantee that your email will definitely make the cut. The more people on your email list, the more chance you have of it being partially filled with bots, fake email addresses and inactive accounts. It's a good idea to constantly review your engagement rates and remove any subscribers who no longer seem interested before they hit that unsubscribe button. Remember, having a clean, segmented list filled with valuable, easy to follow content highlighted by clear CTAs are all major keys when it comes to building and unlocking the true power of your email list. As always, if you like what you heard and you want to hear more, subscribe, like and comment to hear more. Until next time. Adios. Noted as much of a 660% 760 a 600 760.
