Do you ever find yourself writing about a topic that's so niche or so expansive that a traditional blog post just doesn't seem like the right fit? Maybe you're introducing your audience to a new topic and you want to be more descriptive. Or perhaps you're going all out and covering everything that your audience needs to know about a broader subject. These situations are where you might want to use an ebook. In this video, I'll be explaining what an ebook is, why it's important, and how to make one of your very own using HubSpot's free ebook templates hey everyone, it's Remy. Welcome back to the channel. So an ebook is a way to go more in depth on a subject that you want your audience to learn more about. We did some research and four out of five marketers say they're actively investing in content marketing and more marketers stated that generating leads for their business was a top priority for their team than any other task this year. Ebooks remain one of the most popular methods of content creation and lead generation and and can be used for a variety of different purposes. For example, Wistia uses ebooks for custom data reports like the 2021 State of Video. Live Chat uses ebooks to appeal to a wide audience with publications like the Ultimate Guide to Affiliate Marketing, and Aircall uses ebooks for the decision making stage with content like a Buyer's Guide for Cloud Based Phone Solutions. If you write and design an ebook well enough, you'll be able to better educate your readers and turn them into paying customers. So how do you make one? You'll want to use an easy tool like HubSpot's free ebook templates. Our ebook templates provide a step by step process for making your very own ebook from start to finish. I'll have the link to this tool linked below in the description box where you can download it for free. When you're finished, you'll be able to promote it on your blog, your website, email, newsletter, or wherever else your audience lives online. So first, let's talk about writing the ebook. Before you start designing it. Make sure that your team is on the same page about the actual contents of the ebook. Think about how frustrating it would be to design the perfect ebook, only to find out you need to get rid of an entire chapter. Take some time to create an outline, research and provide your readers with a complete overview of the topic filled with examples, sources, images and actionable takeaways. Once everyone is on board with what the ebook will contain, you can head over to start the Design Process after you download HubSpot's collection of free ebook templates, you'll see that it includes six different design types, so you can use the one that makes the most sense for you. Let's go ahead and use the Google Slides templates and select this one, but you can also create your ebook using Adobe InDesign or even PowerPoint. Make a copy of the template, delete that first page, and there you go. You now have your own ebook ready to edit. The rest of the process will look a bit different depending on what you're writing, but let's walk through these page prompts so you can have a better understanding of the process. First up is the COVID page. Here you'll want to enter the name of your company's ebook. You can customize the colors, fonts and images. Next up we've got our table of contents and you'll probably want to fill this part in last after you figure out how many chapters your ebook will have. After that you can start working on the actual contents of the ebook. You'll see the different page templates that you can duplicate and use throughout the ebook. So you've got a chapter intro page, a subsection intro, a page for prompting a visual as well as a page to call out a quote or a featured resource. You can use sites like Pexels and Pixabay to access free stock photos, and if you're adding data or charts, you can use tools like Excel or Google Sheets to make a really eye catching graph. Lastly, you'll want to end your ebook with a call to action for your product, an intro to your sales team, or even another related ebook. And one final tip. If you want to add page numbers, just go to Insert, then click Numbers, then Check. Skip Title slide to make your ebook accessible to your readers, go to File, hover over Download and then click PDF. After that you can head over to your website's file manager to upload it to your website. So that's how easy it is for you to create an awesome ebook using HubSpot's free ebook templates.
