A survey on influencer marketing that included reactions from 1700 influencers and 102 marketers revealed some interesting results. 68% of marketers found it difficult to source relevant influencers for their campaign, while 30% have issues when negotiating terms with these content creators. Basically you know what you want, but you don't know how to get it. Don't fret, I'm here with the tools. First up, we have the Instagram search bar. It may seem a bit obvious, but just put in a hashtag related to the type of influencer you're looking for. While this tactic will show you a lot of top performing posts and influencers, it doesn't show you the gritty details of their influence. Which brings us to upfluence. Not only will they help you find influencers, but they go even further with AI powered recommendations to discover more influencers. They'll provide analysis that will make sure your influencer is the best fit for your brand and comprehensive influencer management to keep track of all the connections you make. Next up, hypeauditor. It's as straightforward as it sounds. You go here, type in the name of your favorite influencer and immediately find out their audience quality score, engagement rate and average number of likes. HypeAuditor also specializes in fraud free influencer marketing Fraud. Uh, yeah. I vaguely remember some really handsome guy saying something like a lot of these mega influencers have follower lists made up of a mix of real people, bots and and fake accounts. HypeAuditor will make sure that you're not being catfished by an influencer. This next one is less about clicking a button that says find an influencer and way more about providing you with the tools necessary to do a bit of the digging yourself to give you something a little bit more organic. Hootsuite search streams can help you discover influencers by monitoring conversations relevant to your industry across multiple channels. Once you have an initial set of influencers in mind, add them to a stream to track what they share and who they engage with. But wait, there's more. Do you remember that 30% of marketers who reported having issues when negotiating terms with these content creators? Here are some tips on how to make contact Number one Be personal. When you hit up an influencer, do not start with some random general message. Do your research and find work that they've done that you are a fan of. This way that initial contact will show that you actually know who they are and aren't just looking for anybody. I can tell you right now, there's no bigger pet peeve than taking a meeting with someone who knows absolutely nothing about you or your brand. Number two don't just slide into the DMs. I know it may seem a little odd not to use the very platform they exist on to make this initial contact, but being real, an email just makes it feel a little more official. Search their bio for one, and if it doesn't exist, then you can slide into their DMs real quick and ask if they have one to share with you. Number three Speaking of emails, when you contact them, be sure to put in the subject line of the email you send. Whether this is a paid opportunity or not, seeing that subject line will most definitely get your email opened and looked at faster than a dm.
