A short transcript from a YouTube video where two speakers discuss planning career goals using two-year sprints. They argue that two-year periods are long enough to achieve sizable impact yet short enough to sustain urgency and produce marquee wins.
I think in two year sprints, right. It just helps me understand what can I get done in two years. Because I think people think one year and one year is not long enough to make sizable amount of impact. It really is like two years. But like, how do I have that marquee thing, that marquee win? I think that two year time frame is really good.
Hold on the hack on that. That's brilliant. About your two year sprints thing that I want everybody to go and copy is that it's the perfect balance of like, I'm committing to doing something long enough to have impact, but it's a short enough period of time that I'm going to act with urgency.
Right, exactly right.
That I'm like, oh, I got. I got 24 months, like less than 700 days. I got a counter going on. Every day has got to matter. When you don't have any kind of counter, you're like, oh, I may just do this forever. And so who cares if it takes me forever to get this thing done?
