Alright, you want to know how to verify your LinkedIn account, and I'm going to show you two super quick ways you can do just that. Plus, later I'll reveal some tips on how to make that verification do more for you. So before we get into the how to, let's quickly go over why it's important to verify your LinkedIn account. Take a look at these two profiles. Notice the verification check mark here. That's what sets them apart. This simple check mark is like a VIP pass in the LinkedIn ecosystem. It instantly boosts your credibility with potential employers, clients, clients and collaborators. But that's just the beginning. Here's something most people don't know. LinkedIn actually gives verified accounts preferential treatment. Your posts and updates get more visibility just because you took the time to verify. Now let's go over the two types of verification that exist. Work email verification allows you to confirm where you work by confirming you have an email address connected to that business. Identity verification can be done on your phone and literally takes like four minutes. This option is how you'll get that check mark on your profile. You can verify your identity using Clear if you're based in North America or Persona for Those in over 60 additional countries, both of which. I'll show you the exact process in just a minute. But if your ultimate goal after getting verified is to elevate your presence on LinkedIn, we've created a guide that covers everything you need in order to do just that. This playbook will show you exactly how to optimize your profile for the perfect first impression and even develop your own content strategy based on your professional situation. You can download this free resource right now using the link in the description below. Alright, let's first go over how to quickly verify your work email. Once you are logged into your LinkedIn profile on your phone, you'll need to click on these three dots here and then tap about this profile. Next you'll select Verify under Verifications to then add your work email and just type in the email that you use for your business or professional profile. LinkedIn will then send a verification email to that account with a verification code to input back on the platform. And there you go. That's your work email verified. Now onto identity verification. If you're in the us, Canada or Mexico, the best way to verify your identity is by using Clear. Keep in mind, you'll need to have the LinkedIn app downloaded on your phone for this process. So on your profile you can either click on the Verify now button next to your profile name or the Resources button here, which will open up Dropdown with some options hit about this profile and then you can go to Verify now, which will show you your verification options. Click click on Verify your identity with Clear. Now this is where you're going to need your phone to scan this QR code with your camera, which will then prompt you to open the LinkedIn app. As you can see, you'll now be able to start the process, go ahead and tap the Verify with Clear button and then add your phone number. It'll send you a code to type in and then take you to a page where you'll need to add your email address and accept the terms and conditions to continue. Once you've done that, it's going to ask you to take a selfie. After allowing access to your camera and taking that selfie, you'll need to choose an ID to scan. The two options here are your government ID card or your passport. You can once that's done, Click send to LinkedIn and you'll see a page that says verification successfully added to your profile. If you're finding this tutorial helpful so far, please hit that like button so the algorithm shows it to more people. Okay? For you guys based outside of North America, LinkedIn uses Persona to verify your identity in more than 60 countries. So when you click on Verify your identity, it'll first ask you to agree to Persona's terms and conditions, which you'll need to click yes to proceed. Then you'll be asked to take a photo of your government issued id, which in most cases is going to be your passport. Now you need to scan the RFID chip in your passport with your phone. You'll know if your passport has an RFID chip, if it has this symbol on the front cover, and if you've ever used your phone to pay for anything, then you should definitely have an NFC reader to successfully scan. So after scanning the chip in your passport, you'll be asked to take a selfie with your phone. Once you've done that and clicked yes, share Voila. You should be verified on LinkedIn with Persona. Alright, so verifying your identity is a great start and honestly a must for foundational credibility. But if you want your business or professional profile to really thrive on LinkedIn, here are three pros tips to achieve that. The first tip is to make sure that your profile is fully optimized. Your LinkedIn profile is the landing page and the first impression that people will get of you or your business. And just as the first impression in real life is the most important thing, it is the same when it comes to your LinkedIn profile. The second tip is being active on a platform, which means not only posting your own content, but also engaging with other creators, answering questions and replying to comments. Which brings me to tip 3 using SEO to improve your ranking if your networking strategy involves posting engaging content and being found within LinkedIn search for your profile, I recommend creating at least 10 keywords that are relevant to your industry or business and adding it as many times as possible to your profiling content post without it being too much. It's all about balance. And there you have it. We've gone through all the verification methods you can do in just a couple minutes to show potential clients and collaborators that your profile is credible, from verifying your work email and using the Clear app to verify your identity to an additional verification method like Persona. If you're based outside of North America, and if your goal after getting verified is to build your LinkedIn presence and network, make sure to download our free LinkedIn profile playbook that's been created to help you optimize your profile and implement strategies that are sure to boost your success on the world's largest digital networking platform.
