Storytelling is everywhere. It's in marketing, it's in medicine, it's in law, it's in politics. Storytelling is everywhere. There's an argument to be made. The challenge is that very few of us stop to ask what storytelling really is, what defines a story and what makes a good one. Well, I'll tell you what storytelling isn't. It's not a bulleted list of facts. It's. It's not a timeline of historical events. A good story takes people on a journey through ups and downs, through conflict and fulfillment. It really moves people. That's an opportunity that we leave on the table all too often, because through experience and what research has shown us, people don't make decisions based on rational argument. People make decisions from the heart. And if we can harness the power of talking to people's emotions, then I think our communications are going to go a lot farther. I think that gaping void said it best. We must touch the heart to move the mind. And I think that storytelling is absolutely the vehicle to do that.
