However, these updates aren't just about keeping up. They're the difference between staying visible and getting buried. We'll cover what's changing the top trends shaping the platform in 2025. And if you stick around till the end, I'm going to share my top tips for future proofing your strategy. So so you're not caught off guard every time Instagram switches things up. I'll also include a little AI hack that has saved me hours of time creating content. Let's get into it. Instagram's mission has always been the to show users the most relevant content. The algorithm. It's basically the gatekeeper deciding what gets seen and what doesn't. But here's the kicker. There's a way to make it work for you. Key signals that the algorithm considers are likes, comments, shares, saves, and more than ever, watch time. However, it's not just about engaging anymore. It's about holding attention like never before. So if you're trying to game the algorithm, here's a quick hack. Prioritize saves. Encouraging your audience to save your posts, like by creating tips or checklists. This sends strong signals to Instagram that your content is valuable and therefore it's going to be pushed further. Like remember when stories were all the rage and then reels swooped in and that organic reach dropped and short form video content took over? If you're a business owner using Instagram to grow your business, it's so hard to keep up with all of these changes. So as a little treat for watching this video, I've linked our guide on how you can kill it on Instagram in the description of this video. It includes tips on how you can leverage this ever changing algorithm and so much more. So definitely check that out. I've linked it in the description below. Now, Instagram used to be kind of like a highlight reel, right? You would post pictures of your trips and your life and update your followers on the highlights of your life. No, no, no, not anymore. We can't get away with just displaying the highlights. Going forward, it's all about showing up as your real self. This is great news for small businesses trying to build trust with their audience. But let's be real, leaving the perfect filters behind isn't easy for everyone. Here are some ideas you can show your workspace, share a mistake that you've learned from, or even create a Day in the Life Video people connect with the human side of your business. So some things that you're going to want to do more of going forward are respond to comments and DMS within 24 hours when someone leaves a comment or sends you a dm. Try this TRF Response framework. T stands for thank them. R Stand stands for relate. So you're going to want to relate to what they said and then F stands for follow up questions. So make sure that you ask a follow up question to keep the conversation going. Share the behind the scenes moments of running your biz, the ups, the downs, the in betweens and you also want to get interactive and try to get to know your audience with the tools provided. Seriously, look how many tools are available. Some things you can do are use polls on your reels or Q&As in your stories to interact with your followers and the people viewing them. Instagram likes when you use the tools they provide, so use them now. What's really hot right now are series create reoccurring segments like Monday Motivation or Product of the Week. At the end of this video, I'm going to show you how to get AI to help you plan your content that's super relevant for your audience in a fraction of the time. So definitely stick around for that. And it is also so important to make the purchase journey seamless for your customers. When someone gets to your Instagram profile, the customer should go through the flow of saw it, loved it, bought it. Here's a simple formula to help you get the most out of the Instagram ecosystem. First, create shoppable posts using product tags with clear, engaging images. Then use reels to demonstrate your product in action. And then finally you can highlight limited time discounts and stories to drive urgency and link to the product page. Instagram's recommendations are getting scary good. That's the algorithm at work using your behavior to hyper personalize your experience. For businesses, this means creating content that your audience is already looking for. Things that you'll want to learn how to do are analyze your Instagram insights, look at your top performing posts. What format did they use? Were they reels, carousels or stories? What topics resonated the most and then use this data to plan your next month of content. Use hashtags and words that target keywords that you want to rank for so you'll see in Google reels are starting to show up on search engine result pages. To optimize for Google, think about keywords that your audience is searching for. So if you're a fitness coach, you could post a reel titled Best Morning Workouts and add those keywords into your caption and hashtags. It's really important that you use the whole Instagram ecosystem. Experiment with everything reels, carousels, stories See what sticks Now Live streaming is the next big thing. Think of this as your pop up shop, but virtual. I know it might seem scary to go live, but once you do it a couple times you will get the hang of it. Before going live, make sure that you have a strong hook. Prepare two to three audience questions, offer an exclusive promo for viewers and very important, test your setup for lighting and sound. Don't forget to promote your live stream a week in advance with countdown stickers and stories and and teaser reels to get your audience excited.
