Lets face it, creating video ads can be challenging and costly, especially when they risk being skipped after the first five seconds. So say hello to YouTube shorts a new way to submit short form ads that don't fade away in this video, I'll show you how to leverage the format to run your own ad campaign. Let's jump into it. Making ads on YouTube is a piece of cake when you start off on Google. You'll begin this process on ads.google.com and click the Start now button. Click the plus sign to start a new campaign. Choose your campaign objective or what you're hoping to get from running your YouTube short ad. You'll have eight choices. Sales leads, website traffic, product and brand consideration, brand awareness of reach, app promotion, local store visits and promotions or create a campaign with goals guidance. That's probably the one that I'd select because I think we can all use a little bit of guidance every now and then. Select your campaign Type video Select the campaign subtype Depending on your business goals, custom video campaign is the most versatile and simple subtype to choose from as you'll have the most amount of flexibility. Target frequency will reach the same audience more than once. Non skippable in stream will share your entire ad for 15 seconds. Uninterrupted drive conversions will encourage valuable interactions with your business. Ad sequence will show your ads in a particular order. And lastly, audio is for audiences that choose to listen to your YouTube content. Once you've made your choice, click continue Name your shorts campaign Set a targeted location and language Set your budget Often you can choose a bidding model where you can expect to pay $0.03 to $0.30 per per view that your ad brings in. Just ensure that you provide a budget cap such as $30 for the duration of the campaign. And we're talking USD here. I don't know how much it is in pesos or anything else. Now, even though we're talking about YouTube shorts campaigns today, if you're interested in becoming a Google Ads expert, my friend, you really ought to download our free Ultimate Google Ads PPC kit. We go in depth on budget setting, lead generation, and much more. Check it out in the link below. Super easy. If I had known that this existed before I ran my first Google Ad, I'd be a billionaire. That's how much value we're giving away, so feel free to check it out when it comes to our campaign, here's where the details really matter. Under additional settings, set specific targeting for devices and only select mobile phones. Shorts are optimized for handheld mobile devices or a 9 by 16 aspect ratio. You can't directly select YouTube shorts, but this will guarantee it won't be converted to your typical 16 by 9 aspect ratio, which is what this video is. Finish out by sorting your target demographics and content cluster keywords. For example, if you're looking to run an ad for your gym, you'd want to target keywords such as fitness routine, weightlifting or even more specific clusters like dance or aerobics, depending on who you're trying to appeal to the most with your offering. Now take one of your pre existing YouTube shorts URL's and select it as either Skippable in stream ad or in Feed Video ad. Add a link to your campaign landing page and a call to action that viewers can choose between. If you're offering an ebook or spreadsheet, a CTA like download would best fit your objective. Or if you're selling a product featured in the short Buy now would get a potential customer closer to completing a sale. Include a cover image for your Shorts ad. You want an expressive or bright image with grabby text to get your audience's attention. Think about it like this, what image would make you stop scrolling on your feed and click to open that video? Lastly, bid for your ad group and create your Shorts campaign. Now remember, using Shorts isn't going to guarantee a successful ad. Like any other short form content, you have to include a hook in your video's first five seconds to keep folks interested. Can take many forms, a question, a common problem, or a pain point. Say a viewer is looking for fun gym classes to attend a hook such as want to get in more cardio but are tired of hopping on a boring treadmill every day. That hook could open a pitch for group fitness classes solving the need for gym class offerings. Make it strong enough to persuade the viewer to continue watching and make sure you give viewers a clear call to action. If you want them to download content, make that action clear as day. And if you want them to purchase a product or service, put a link that will direct them to a brand landing page like no other. But you do know your target audience better than I do. So work based off of the success of your previous ad campaigns and take their strengths into your next YouTube shorts ad. When I'm talking strength, I mean, you know, I'm sorry.
