Successful businesses thrive on data to drive growth and delight customers. However, when it comes to sensitive data, many organizations struggle to effectively and safely make use of it. Thankfully, HubSpot provides a secure solution for storing sensitive customer data within the Smart CRM. This enables businesses like yours to utilize this data to fuel your growth, manage compliance, and mitigate potential disruptions. Here's how it works. Begin by activating the Sensitive Data settings in your portal. Here you'll select the types of sensitive data you plan to store, such as personal, financial or medical data. In case of the latter, you'll be prompted to state whether you are a HIPAA covered entity or need a Business Associate agreement in order to comply with this United States Data Protection Law. Once this is turned on, you can start storing sensitive data in HubSpot Smart CRM. To do so, simply create a property and designate it as sensitive. What this does is add an extra layer of encryption for all data stored within. It also ensures that only authorized users are able to view the data that it stores. Now that you have a secure place for your sensitive data, you can use these sensitive properties more or less like any other property in HubSpot Smart CRM, with a few exceptions, meaning you can now safely use sensitive data to power your automations, campaigns and interactions, and delight your customers with an exceptionally personalized experience.
