Patrick Biddiscombe argues the AI agent hype is justified, but real value comes from experimenting to find what works for your specific customers and data. Most tools are still immature, so the path forward is hands-on testing to discover defensible, proprietary processes worth automating.

I think the hype over agents is real and I'm so excited for that future. And I think I could see some people saying why should I experiment with these little processes because the agents are going to do it for me. And I think the real key is in experimenting, figuring out what works and then you can go automate it. I mean a lot of these tools don't, don't work yet today. But getting really good at experimenting and trying little things out is I think where, where the real value is figuring out what the proprietary data sources are, how to use it. And once you can demonstrate that this is really compelling, then you can hand it off to someone more sophisticated or you can hand it off to an agent to go do it. But I think the key thing is understanding your customer, understanding what's truly valuable to them and then saying what is the proprietary data source that no one else is going to get yet.
