Oh, my God. Oh, geez. What time is it? Oh, okay. TikTok video. I don't know. How. I don't know. Is it TikToking? This, this TikToker? Cut, cut, cut. As an adult millennial, I've steered clear of TikTok. I know what it is. I've seen a handful of them, but I've just never used the app and because, well, it's a Gen Z thing. But recent data has showed that the recent number of adult U.S. visitors to TikTok has more than doubled in a year. And businesses are starting to catch on too. While young people still account for the majority of TikTok users, the recent spike in adult users suggests that the platform is growing up or proving it has a broader appeal than we thought. Basically using everyday experiences in your everyday life and the simple moments in your life and make them hilarious or make them epic. Look at the trending challenges. The way to do that is either to look at the hashtags on the bottom of each TikTok video, which will show you the challenge that certain people are participating in. And another way to do it are to look at the trending sounds when you go to make a TikTok video. And within those sounds, you will see potential challenges or trends you can hop on. While the majority of TikTok users might be young people, they're by no means the only ones. I've actually been super surprised at the massive range of content being shared on TikTok. Sure, there's plenty of entertainment content like cat videos and comedians, but you'll also see educational videos breaking down the news and historical facts, as well as informational content like healthcare professionals debunking myths and sharing recommendations, relationship counselors giving tips, vets breaking down animal behavior. Creators as well as brands are finding their audience and providing them with real value, all in under 60 seconds. One really cool thing about TikTok is the diverse range of creators and communities that have emerged within the platform. For example, there's a thriving LGBTQ community, but there's also a growing number of creators using TikTok to show the experience experience of living with Tourette's syndrome. Brands can fit in as long as they make creative videos that give the audience entertainment and give them some value before kind of just going in there and trying to hook someone into buying something. And maybe that turns into more of a camaraderie with other audiences that could find your brand interesting. And from there, the lead gen starts, and it's something that's very different from what I see on Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, you name it.
