Hi, everyone. I'm Crystal King, the social media professor for HubSpot Academy. I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Today, HubSpot Academy learned how to grow our YouTube channel without spending a dime. Really? We increased our YouTube subscribers by 25% in just two months by implementing a specific strategy. And only five months into this shift, we saw huge numbers in video views. A 531% increase, in fact. And the best part, that's all organic growth. We did this by implementing a specific strategy. Before that, we had used YouTube, just like many of you do, as a library for video you created to use on other platforms. We knew it wasn't the right answer, but as you all know, wrangling YouTube can seem daunting. But it doesn't have to be. Many of the strategies we implemented were simple fixes, easy to do and to maintain. Ben Ueda, host of Homemade Modern, a channel with over 1 million subscribers. It explains that it's not really about time or money.
Yeah, there is this assumption that video is very time consuming and it is in a traditional sense. But what we're seeing is that there's a lot of platforms. Instagram stories are a way that people are producing videos in almost a one to one basis, meaning that they're spending 15 seconds to create a 15 second video that's ideal for YouTube. Things tend to take a little bit longer because there's some production and that's okay. I know youtubers that are incredibly successful producing or publishing one video a month and a whole bunch of production goes into it. When we're normally going full speed, we're producing about one a week. So it doesn't matter how long it takes you, it just matters that you're spending the right amount of your time capital relative to how the video is going to perform. And you figure that over time. So it's not about hiring the best cinematographer, this huge crew, and building massive fireworks and explosions. It's really just about setting your expectations correctly so you know how much to invest into each piece of video that you create so that you're getting consistent returns on it. When you get the consistent returns, then you're engaged in that overall consistent practice and your audience grows and all your other metrics go favorably.
In this course. You'll learn how to develop that consistent practice. You'll also learn how HubSpot Academy revolutionized our YouTube channel. I'll help you understand the ins and outs of the YouTube platform and how to create a strategy for your business. You'll hear tips and tricks from YouTube experts on how to build and grow your channel. So what are you waiting for? It's time to learn how you can build a YouTube marketing strategy for your business.
