How Do You Carry 3 LOSING LANES? - Here's How!

Perry Norman plays Viego in a League of Legends match where his team is down 8k gold across multiple losing lanes. He shows how to win anyway: scout vision gaps, avoid full team fights, exploit numbers advantages, and time engagements around objectives like Elder Dragon. Mental discipline matters as much as mechanics.

The scoreboard is 17 to 30. We're down literally 8,000 gold, 4 dragons. Top laners 4 and 7, mid laners 2 and 7, 3 and 5, 1 and 7. Extremely useless teammates. I'm the Viego here, and I want to show you guys how you can make these dogshit situations, awful, awful situations, ever so slightly winnable. And it's not to say that you guys are going to have 100% success rate when it comes to replicating what I'm doing, but I want to show you guys the tips, patterns and the things that I am applying to try and win a game like this. It's not easy, okay? It's really not. But I've played a great game. If you look at my gold, I have 14K gold. My early game was great. I got plates, I got kills. I couldn't get the dragons because my bot lane was losing. It is what it is. My mid lane was also losing, but I was able to play through top lane and I generated gold. Okay, so how do you win games in game states like this? And now the first thing you need to think about is where are their holes in their setup? So you're not going to win a traditional 5v5. If we look at the score and we look at this, this guy's 3 items, this guy has 2, this guy is like 2.5, like 3 items, this guy has 2. Their Xayah has 4 items, we have like barely 2.5. And so if we take an actual 5v5 fight, we are just going to completely lose the game. And so you need to avoid 5v5 fights. Your number one, like you have to obsess with avoiding 5v5 fights. And what that means is Finding holes in their setup. I see Xayah here clearing wards. What that usually signals, if Xayah's clearing wards by herself, that the Bard is probably not there. I don't see Bard walking through trying to set up vision here. Also, over here I see LeBlanc who is so confidently pushing the wave. I think if anything, maybe the Bard is down here setting things up with LeBlanc and the Xayah is playing disrespectfully. So what I'm looking for here is when— how can I pressure this Xayah? while LeBlanc plays here and while they maybe run through here or run through there. And now let's say, for example, they ran here. I would go try to attack LeBlanc because I need to attack the person who's by themselves. Now, if nobody has support and like the Ekko and Bard are like AFK, they're farming, they're doing something stupid, then this guy is susceptible to dying and so is the LeBlanc. Either one are in a position where they're at risk. Usually who has more terrain to play around here and who has more dashes, if we look Yeah. So I'm trying to think here, this Xayah versus this LeBlanc, who can I get to quicker and who is harder for me to kill? This LeBlanc is harder because of terrain and because of her champion kits. She has her W, she has her ulti, she even has her E. And last and finally, she has a super ward here from the Phaelite. So all of this is actually just her terrain. The Xayah, on the other hand, because there's been no confirmation of Bard walking through, very unlikely this is actually warded. We also just fought in the Baron side and they got the Baron like a little bit ago. So we were literally just in the top lane. been warded. And so I'm finding small windows. I'm assessing all of this live right now as I'm walking out of base. Where are there holes in their setup? And so I walk through here, I walk through here, I wait. And notice here how like I'm not walking out of the bush because let's say again, if Bard is here and Ekko's here, I'm dead. And likewise down here, down here, if Bard and Ekko are here, like then I can go up here. And guess what? Ekko gets shown here. My Syndra finds the Echo. And now the Xayah is left with her pants down because she does not have this warded. And let's say she does have it warded and Bard's there. Well, then I will go attack Bard and I'll kill Bard. So this Echo kind of lets the Xayah like to hang dry here. So here I am sweeping through. There's Bard. Hello, Bard. And your Xayah is getting full charged stun here. He's absolutely cooked. And it doesn't stop there. This is Elder spawning right now. So if we look at objective timers real quick, this is Elder. Elder spawning in 9 seconds. What I'm doing here is I'm applying the number one golden rule on Viego: you E before you possess. So watch this, watch this fight here. Charge W, I use my E for the attack speed, I possess, I make sure my E's placed. And now look at their POV here, look at the Bard's POV. He doesn't see anything, he doesn't see anything, he doesn't see anything, he doesn't— surprise! And then boom, I'm here. Oh my God. And this guy's dead like that. But wait, I eat, I possessed. Okay, fine, whatever. I'm kind of like dancing around here, yada yada yada. Like I, I fake someone out, see if I can, see if I can spot them. My goal is to spot people out. Where's the Echo? Where's the LeBlanc? This isn't secured yet. And then I see that Echo gets hit by this. And what do I do here? I use Fog of freaking War. So maybe this is war, maybe this is not. But what I'm going to do is I'm going to go into this bush. And I'm going to W as fast as I can, and then boom, surprise attack this guy, kill him. And then the rest of the fight and the play is history. And now we have Elder, and here's the thing. It's not like the game got any better. Okay? It got slightly better. Like, the gold? It's 4k now? It went from 8k to 4k. They still have Soul. We're still down items. So, we literally do nothing for around 3 minutes. Look at the times. Like, look at all this here. We kind of do nothing for like 3 minutes. And so that's part of League of Legends, is doing nothing. Okay? And then there's this, this big mid shenanigans here where my Nautilus fights. He wants to go and use the last bits of Elder. He absolutely ints the game here by going too far forward, too deep. No one can follow up through Xayah. And this, this whole shenanigans gets really bad. I end up doing a super play here by sitting in my Fog of War as Viego here. Look, look at me. I sit in my Fog of War. I surprise attack the Xayah. I kill the Xayah. I kill the Bard. I possess the Xayah. I possess the Bard at the end there. I Flash E out. Ekko chases. I kill him as Bard. So I saved the game. And there will be some outplaying that you have to do if you want to win games. So first things first, what did I do in this game? One, I try to find numbers advantage. Two, the reality is you have to play fights well. And this means like playing your one trick. This means playing The best way you possibly know how to play. And then after this, you know, we just defend the base. And funnily enough, look at what happens here for the next 30 seconds. What am I doing? What am I doing? What am I doing? I'm waiting for a numbers advantage. I'm waiting for someone to face check and for me to one-shot them and kill them. And let's say I have Flash here. Let's say this guy walks a little bit further and into that. Well, she dies. And I'm still doing the same thing here. I'm waiting, I'm waiting, I'm waiting, I'm waiting. And my goal is to, you know, play a little better. I, I'm— I, I've— I fumbled the ball here. Um, I missed everything, but I've given my teammates enough time to scale to the point where they're now much stronger than where they were before, and they actually clutch up the fight. So when you have hard games, the fact that I was able to win the last 2 fights The last big fight and like the last 2 big fights, we've narrowed the gold down to like 3K gold. And it's not like these guys want to lose the game. Most of the time they're just playing bad. So don't flame them. Don't get angry at them. The more angry you are at your teammates, the worse they'll play here. Like they'll play worse if you flame them. So I don't flame any of them. I let them play their game. I hope they get items and I hope that they play well later. But I want you to look at this concept here of me sitting in bushes because it's not the first time I apply it. It's actually, I apply that. Again, where look, my entire team gets aced. Um, like my Caitlyn and Nautilus, dumb as hell. And then my Syndra, dumb as hell. Oh, like my Syndra's in base defending, never mind. And like, look at me. I, I just like, I'm just like sitting in a bush because I need to catch someone off guard. I just sit here and I sit here and I sit here and I sit here and guess what? I stopped them from doing the Baron. Why? Because I, I find this Irelia, I kill this Irelia. Irelia. And then I stay alive, and I've like— every small thing I've done in this game is just minimizing how fucking dogshit this game has been going. And there's another example here where, where— look, look at me. Let's just, just look, okay? I sit in a bush right here. My teammates got wiped again. They all died. I just respawned. I go out of base. I walk around here. I walk around here, and I sit here, and I sit here. And I sit here and I sit here and I wait and I wait and I wait and I wait and I wait and I wait and I wait. And it is champ-specific how you play. Like, like, let's say if you're playing a tank, you can still find picks. Let's say you're playing a bruiser, you're still playing a mage, you can still find picks. A tank just needs their allies with them, in which case ping to your allies. Bruisers need allies usually. Assassins don't, so assassins can play like this. And mages, most of the time, they have enough damage. Uh, so, so notice though, my team— I'm pinging my team to come stay, stay, stay. And then look at this, what happens here is like eventually we get up, we get a flash, and then I do it again. Eventually we get a kill, and I'm doing that throughout the entire game. Okay, so fast forward a little bit more back to present time. Um, I'm literally back here. Like, I, I like— I just, I love— oh, this is where I die, right? Yeah, that's where I die. Okay, next one, next one. I'm back there. I love that position. From here on What are we doing? Well, now my Kaylin— my Kaylin fucking melts. My Kaylin got a good trap there. Look at her damage. My Kaylin shreds. I int here. I'm playing poorly. But my teammates, I've given them enough time, and I dealt a lot of damage in that fight to where they're really strong. And so, we get the Elder, we go for the Baron when I'm up. I'm up, we grab the Baron. Okay, and then we go for a siege and try to end the game. And now we're actually up gold. How do we end the game? We use our super minions. I'm dead. And our super minions do do the work. So the the big, not the super minions, the big cannon minions. Look at the damage to this turret right here. Look at this. Bang bang bang bang bang bang bang! That turret is getting crushed by these by these cannon minions. I I literally can't help but think of like Clash of Clans when I see these guys. Like like like the Clash of Clans like turret, bro. Like the cannon like dude that that shit's strong. That shit hits. Like look at this. This is like Caitlyn's damage, but also the supers. Bang, bang, bang, and we end the game. Okay, so the 2 big takeaways are try to find numbers advantage, right? And you have to play fights well. And I think the 3rd, final, and last thing to really, like, really understand is like, when games are hard, don't make them harder. And, and, and this can, this, this can, this can be applied in like a few ways. So what I mean by don't make them harder Sometimes you guys like to flame allies. Sometimes you like to, uh, I don't know, like, like make things worse, uh, by dying. Sometimes you guys like to, I don't know, let's say you, um, I know, get tilted and, and just like stop playing. A lot of the time you guys are doing shit like this and it's making the game like near unwinnable in a game that's already hard. And again, I'm not trying to say that like you guys will always find ways to win games where you are down soul and down 8,000 gold. But for those of you guys who genuinely believe it's not winnable, it is. And again, I want to just like— I want to combat all your guys' beliefs because I know someone out there watching is going to be like, oh, well, Perry, you can only do this because you're Challenger and you're smurfing. I mean, well, one, this is like Master GM elo. So how much can you really be smurfing here? 2, if you really have that mentality and it's like, oh, well, I can't do it because you can, then I'm sorry, you're not going to have good results when it comes to climbing. If you have a limiting belief that you can't do something because someone else is higher elo than you and you don't want to try to do and apply those rules and concepts and ideas that they're doing, that just means you don't really have what it takes to climb further in League. League is not an easy game. Climbing in League isn't easy. If you're 50% win rate or even negative win rate at your rank, it's because You are not good, not good enough. And there's stuff you need to do more. And so if you aren't in that mindset of like, what can I do better? How can I improve? Where are these opportunities for me to strengthen my skill as a player? If you aren't looking for those things, you're just going to stay stuck. You're going to stay where you are. Okay? So ultimately, ultimately, you guys need to understand that not every single game is winnable, but every single game you can take away A lot. You can learn a lot. You can grow, and you can make really good situations. I used to be very toxic. I used to flame. I used to be tilted. I used to be very angry when I was younger, and and so flaming allies and all these three things I did so often, and so it wouldn't matter how well I played fights. I would be too far behind because I would be too angry. I would be so tilted at my teammates for all the dumb shit they were doing, and I couldn't see the fact that maybe the game is actually winnable. There's so much more happening that you guys don't actually realize where like your men. Mental just means so much, and I talk about a lot of mentality games, and this game is to show like some mental things, but realistically how to find numbers advantage. Numbers advantage is so, so, so important. So mental guys, numbers advantage, stop flaming, stop making things worse. Last and final thing for those guys who are like, well, so Perry, if I'm behind, do I just sit in a bush the whole time and I just pressure? The honest answer is no. I could do that this game because I played the early game great, and I played The early game to a point where I had a lot of items. If I were at 2 items and I did exactly what I did, do you guys think I'm going to kill the Xayah off one combo here? It's like, absolutely not. This Xayah probably has time to ulti. This Bard is coming in, this Bard is ulting, and then like, then we lose the game, we lose the fight. And so then they just like end the game through mid. And so playing the early game as cleanly as possible, so you're playing for your own economy, you're playing for your own strength. Like, look at this first 20 minutes of the game. Like, I'm, I'm like strong. Like, I'm playing very, very, very well, as well as I possibly can be. Echo is like similar score to me similar, um, similar CS almost. And I'm up 3,000 gold because I'm using Bastion Breaker to get turrets. I am applying pressure for plates. I'm doing different things to generate myself gold and a resource advantage. So that carries me through in like through the mid-game and late game. Okay, so there's a lot going on, guys. And, and most of the time, uh, the last and final thing that I'll add here, most of the time people don't have any weight or, or gravity on how important this really is. So I'm gonna make some room here and, and add the last point. And then the last and final point is your early game. Early game matters so much. And your mid-late game. And you can't auto your mid-late game. Autopilot. Mid and late. And a lot of you guys tend to do both. So your early game is just like too sloppy. You don't have good tempo. You're not farming well. You're making shitty plays. You're wasting time. And then after you're behind in the early game, Then in the mid-late game, you start freaking just completely throwing the game because you're autopiloting and you're not focused. And most of the time you lose focus because you're flaming allies and you're frustrated. And so I hope this is helpful for you guys when it comes to like, what are you supposed to do when it comes to winning games that are very difficult? Because it's not easy, but you can win. There definitely is way— there definitely are ways to win games. And like, if you look at the Jungle Kingdom scorer, My early game was like, was beautiful. It was like near perfect, right? And then like throughout the mid-game, I made some like big mistakes. Like I took some shitty fights. I maybe could have played for the Herald. Like this is true. I was not playing for like Dragons. Like I was doing a bunch of really silly things. I ended up dying to Ekko. And so it's not even to say that I played a perfect game. I made a lot of big mistakes. If you look at these blunders here, like I threw the Baron at some point. Yeah, I remember this death. I kind of gave them the Baron 26 minutes into the game before my super salvage. Where was it here? Yeah, yeah. So like this, they got the Baron and then like I went back in here and like I just got myself kind of killed here instead of playing to E away and like live. I probably could have E'd, auto'd fast. Like there's so many things I could have done better. Anyway, this is like to show that like I didn't play like a perfect game. But I was still able to win because I played for all the conditions that like allowed me to win the game. Like I had a really good early game. I stayed mentally online. And yeah, I hope this was helpful, guys. Definitely go to the Jungle Kingdom if you want to review your own games and take notes and get better at the game. Otherwise, leave a like, comment, subscribe. I'll see you guys in the next one. Peace, peace.
